Agreed. I'm in STL and for at least the last 10 years I know they have gone to daily ops by Memorial Day. In the mid-west almost all schools are out by then. -

The park has announced that it will be closing half of the water park on August 10th to be bulldozed for 2026 water park expansion. More details to be announced at a later date. With how much land they're clearing and how early the work is starting tells you just how large the scale of this investment will be. I wonder how much will be new versus relocations from Six Flags America. -
One more thing I want to do now that I've ridden every American B&M Hyper is rank them and also rank them based on what my wife calls them 😆 1. Raging Bull, 2. Goliath, 3. Diamondback, 4. Nitro, 5. Thunder Striker, 6. Apollo's Chariot, 7. Mako, 8. Candymonium (if we're including gigas, Fury 325 would rank under Raging Bull and Orion would rank under Nitro for me). My wife is Nitro's #1 fan, so she calls each B&M Hyper the following: Bovine Nitro, Y'all Nitro, Snake Nitro, Nitro, Earnhardt Nitro (guess that needs a new one lol), Mythological Nitro, Shark Nitro, and Chocolate Nitro. -
As long as I can remember (>15 years) they have had daily operations starting at least by memorial day. It's a very safe bet they will be open daily in the first week of June. The Waterpark should be open then too -

Is it pretty safe to assume that Holiday World (the main theme park) will be open the first week of June in 2026? I'm going to have to book my trip before they release their official calendar, and I'm looing at June 3. Their main park opened for the last week of May in 2025. I tried reaching out to Holiday World, and they just said they usually open in May and they haven't released their calendar yet. -

Six Flags has quietly announced the name and theme of the park's new family boomerang coaster, Speedway Stunt Coaster! This new attraction is slated to open in 2026! -
Went to the park on Saturday, August 2nd for the first time in 7 years. Park was busier than I've ever seen it but again, I haven't been in 7 years. When I used to consistently go down, the place was almost always deserted. Wait times ranged from 15 minutes to 1.5 hours, we selectively avoided rides due to their wait times (Skipped FoF, Tumbili, Backlot, Apple Zapple, and Reptillian) Longest wait was Raptera of course. Grizzly is incredible with the re-track, Twisted Timbers is still incredible, Dominator has developed a pretty severe rattle in the back row, and Raptera shook me in a way I've never felt any other coaster do. I was in the back row, right side outer seat. Everyone else I rode with raved about it, said it was forceful and smooth. I walked off with a massive headache just asking myself "How in the hell is a brand new B&M this shakey?" I figured it was just a bad seat, and reading through this thread, yeah, seems like the back row outer seats are just not the place to ride. Pantherian did not test at all, I also did not see any work being done. -

I am asking this question here just because the issues Cedar point has been having gets talked about more then other parks. Just trying to figure out what kind of daily, weekly, Monthly maintenance coaster should be getting if any to prevent breakdowns I know each night they all get checked and repaired as needed, and over winter everything is pulled part and put back together. People keep blaming poor maintenance on the rides going down a lot. I have no clue what other things can be done to help with this. MF seemed to run one car part of a day and 2 cars for a few weeks. TT2 has a lot of sensor issues and other rides have had longer issues. how much does heat humidity . play into this. Is new technology creating more headaches. -

Thanks, and yes other than Cedar Point and the ride home everything else went great! I don't totally blame Cedar Point for my bad days, I was getting tired and after being spoiled by all the wonderful little parks in the Midwest it was a bit of a harsh reality. Obviously I'll be back there sooner than later. But they definitely need to get their shit together on the maintenance end of things. Also thanks for the fun house recommendations, especially the one at Indiana Beach which I probably would not have even looked into. Don't really have the energy and patience to update my top lists anymore, but I decided to look back and categorize how some of the coasters on this trip feel to me. Wildly exceeded expectations: All American Triple Loop, Raging Bull, Hades, Zippin Pippin, Sirens Curse Met my pretty high expectations: Ravine Flyer, Shivering Timbers, Lost Coaster, Cornball Express, Wrath of Rakshasa, Viper, Cyclops, Renegade Disappointing compared to expectations: Goliath, X-Flight, Wild Thing, TT2 Flats/other things that were memorable: Flume, Fun Houses, and Larson tower at Waldameer; Frankenstein's Castle and the waterfront flats at Indiana Beach; Flumes and Sky Striker at SFGAm; Eli Bridge wheels at Little Amerricka and Bay Beach; Flume at MOA; and Scat at Bay Beach.

Id rather have a flat ride than that garbage SROS they call a coaster. Not to mention, it would be cheaper to build a brand new one. The amount of land grading, support modifications and all that due to the terrain at our park compared to where it sits now is vastly different -
I'd argue they're barely open during the daytime now. This was taken 10 minutes ago, an hour away from closing on a perfect-weather Saturday. For comparison, some nearyby parks that are also experiencing the perfect weather....
