Brose111688
"Combo Tickets" for both parks don't exist; they have different owners. KD tickets will be approx. $20+ less than gate cost per person if you buy online in advance and choose what specific day you're going. The website is currently showing 2019 Any Day tickets for $39.99, which I believe is $20 off the gate price. If you're going to any other CF parks this year, a Platinum Pass pays for itself in three trips when you consider parking. Busch Gardens website is showing 1-day admission for $59.49 right now, down from $84.99 at the gate. That offer "expires Jan 30th." Both parks should have minimal crowds on a weekend in April. My mistake then, though if you google Busch gardens/Kings dominion combo tickets there are multiple news stories from 2015 saying that they were going to start offering them. So at least at one time they did offer them. Besides I remember back in the day there was a Seaworld/Busch gardens/ Universal combo ticket down in Florida, so it isn't unheard of that parks under different companies offer combo tickets. I do appreciate the advice though. I'm in Pittsburgh, so if I can make it to Cedar Point/Kings Island this summer I'll probably end up getting the pass. boldikus
"Combo Tickets" for both parks don't exist; they have different owners. For what its worth, they actually did a few years ago, no idea if this is still an option, doesn't seem to be according to any google searches. RollingCoasting
https://www.kingsdominion.com/blog/2019/park-update Volcano is being removed from the park Part of getting ready for a new operating season includes an expert evaluation of our rides and operations. As a part of that evaluation, every aspect of our rides and attractions are analyzed, from guest satisfaction, throughput and rider capacity to reliability, uptime and maintenance. After thorough evaluation, the decision has been made to remove Volcano: The Blast Coaster. This wasn’t an easy decision for us, because we know that people love this one-of-a-kind coaster; however, over time it became nearly impossible to keep the ride up to our high standards of reliability and guest satisfaction, and for these reasons we had to make the tough call. We apologize to anyone who is inconvenienced by the removal, but hope they will understand that it was done to enhance the overall guest experience here at Kings Dominion. bluestreak
Wow I knew the ride was a nightmare to maintain and I know it didn't operate the whole like second half of the year but I still never saw this coming. Completely out of left field. Rest in peace.

9Armgeddon4
That’s a real shame to hear. I’m glad I got chance to ride it at least.
VF15
That sucks, it was down during my trip to the park this past July and I was looking forward to riding it this year since I’ll be living a lot closer soon, but oh well . I hope they can replace it with a worthy successor in the next few years.
SharkTums
Ugh. I really liked that ride. It was unique, forceful, fun, and had one of the funniest “endings” for a big coaster! Grrr. Can’t they ship it to Michigan’s Adventure and run it on sheep power or something?!?
CpBluestreakCp
Dang, another credit (a good one at that) gone I never got to ride. RIP.
DoinItForTheFame
Damn! I am sad to see this coaster go... I freaking loved that ride. The awesome launches... The slow rolls... The crazy stupid ending... It was all so awesome!
CoasterAuditor
Truly devastating news such a unique and fun ride. It had its flaws but man was it fun.
southpuddle
Oh wow... this may be one of the most universally liked rides to be removed. It’s right up there with Dueling Dragons and Big Bad Wolf. This sucks.
Mrlittle
Well this is kind of a bummer. Here’s hoping they replace it one day with another intamin coaster.
Canobie Coaster
That was not what I was expecting to see when I went in this thread. That's terrible to hear since it was such a one of a kind ride. I'm thankful it was operating when I went in April. My sister is going to be bummed. That was her favorite coaster (yes she liked it more than Intimidator, SFNE's Superman, Skyrush, Phoenix, etc).
BoulderDash
Super disappointing, really wanted to ride it in the future. I went to the park for the first time at the beginning of July and would have loved to ride it. RIP
Taylor Finn
Yeah, there are so many fun but generic coasters out there. This was not one of them. Super happy I got another ride in 2017. Remember being fascinated by this coaster when I was younger due to a roller coaster book I loved. Very disappointed about this as it rode so nice. kalikoasterman510
Wow!! I am glad that the one and only time I visited KD, I was able to ride!!! I was planning a trip there for the summer and hoping it would be open, but I guess not! Sucks more that, since it was down so much, they couldn't give it a Season Finale. CIP(Coast In Peace) Volcano!
average.coaster.fan
Really sad they removed it, but we kinda saw it coming considering it was SBNO for most of the 2018 season. So glad I got to enjoy this ride in 2014 and 2016 for a total of 3 rides. Loved the launches, the inversions, and the unique setting. I hope they end up bringing something better into the space in the near future.

ILoveRides
Such unexpected news. This coaster was in my top 5... I’m really sad to see it go.
Satans Hockey
Damn that sucks. I loved this ride and this was one of the most popular rides in the park too. Going to be really interesting to see what they do with the mountain itself since it's been there for a long time. I'm curious to see if they knock that down completely as well or decide to try to incorporate a new ride into it. ViperGTS500
Sad. I wonder if the mountain itself was in such bad shape, it wasnt worth saving the coaster...?
