A.J. Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 On weekends, yes, though I've never gone on a weekday. You'll never wait more than a cycle for a ride, but everything is always running.
Canobie Coaster Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 ^^ When I've gone on weekdays, it's not uncommon to find them rotating ride ops due to being short staffed.
tndank Posted May 22, 2020 Posted May 22, 2020 (edited) Fun Spot Orlando is now open. Open til 10. Noon to 10pm Daily starting tomorrow. *Masks not required but recommended. Edited May 22, 2020 by SharkTums
SharkTums Posted May 22, 2020 Posted May 22, 2020 No date set yet for the Kissimmee Fun Spot but I would assume pretty soon as well.
Canobie Coaster Posted May 22, 2020 Posted May 22, 2020 I'm surprised just how little notice they gave before reopening- just a few hours!
ThemeParkJunkie51290 Posted May 23, 2020 Posted May 23, 2020 Great news to hear! Maybe I can get a quick coaster fix in June. . . hopefully. I've never been here and would love to visit. This little park seems like so much fun!
pianojohn Posted May 23, 2020 Posted May 23, 2020 Hmm...NO temp checks, no required masks for guests? Does the park assume ZERO liability?? How long til someone gets sick and they are shut down? Very short sighted of this park. Disappointed in them.

Very short sighted of this park. Disappointed in them. I mean... they are recommending masks and are doing NINE (yes, 3 more than recommended by the CDC) feet apart in the queue lines. People don’t exactly live under a rock. I also don’t see a lot of 65+ people visiting fun spot, hitting the go cart tracks and downing a couple beers. Also Island H2O live waterpark in Orlando opens today. as well.

I also know the clientele that Fun Spot usually attracts (I Drive tourists, locals) and I highly doubt any of them will wear masks or stay 6 or even 9 feet apart. And I have been to this park dozens of times, so I speak from a voice of experience. I wish them the best, but I know how stupid people are.
VF15 Posted May 26, 2020 Posted May 26, 2020 Looks like Fun Spot Kissimmee reopened today at noon. They are requiring masks to be worn while visiting due to a local ordinance.
pianojohn Posted May 27, 2020 Posted May 27, 2020 "We recommend we bring your own" Oh Fun Spot. I hope they corrected that. Nope. Still saying "We recommend we bring your own." Fun Spot. The WalMart of Dollar Trees. And we got the clientele to prove it!
805Andrew Posted May 27, 2020 Posted May 27, 2020 I'm surprised the city of Kissimmee is requiring them to wear masks and the city of Orlando isn't. I thought it would be the other way around.

It's not a city thing, it's a county thing. Osceola County is enforcing required face masks in public for everyone, Orange County is not. It doesn't make it any less peculiar.
tndank Posted September 15, 2020 Posted September 15, 2020 GCI is putting their steel track on White Lightning now.
Canobie Coaster Posted September 15, 2020 Posted September 15, 2020 I just saw a picture of it. This looks a bit more obvious than the Topper Track RMC uses, but I'm interested to see how it rides!
thrillseeker4552 Posted September 15, 2020 Posted September 15, 2020 Nerdy thought, but I wonder if they will keep steel wheels on the train. If so, this thing is gonna ROAR. I also wonder if it's the whole coaster or just portions of the track. This will be interesting to follow!
gardyloo! Posted September 15, 2020 Posted September 15, 2020 I just saw a picture of it. This looks a bit more obvious than the Topper Track RMC uses, but I'm interested to see how it rides! Honestly looks more like their I-box/Iron Horse track to me since the entire beam/rail is made out of steel. I really look forward to see where this takes GCI, the more competition for RMC the better. Intamin, B&M and Vekoma are already taking design elements from Alan Schilke, curious to see if GCI will follow the lead also.

They all kinda just steal from each other lol

I suppose, however, that inspiration always has to come from somewhere. Intamin inspired Alan, Alan Inspires Intamin designers. In the end, it benefits the industry as a whole. Especially us enthusiasts; the more, the merrier when it comes to extreme rides.
tndank Posted September 15, 2020 Posted September 15, 2020 Also, in case anyone wants to know, Fun Stop expects White Lightning to be open Thursday. It's not a full re-track, just some tests.
thepoint4life23 Posted September 15, 2020 Posted September 15, 2020 I am excited to see what comes from this. I thought he ride rode well, and was a lot of fun when i road it last. Might of been 2 years ago.

thrillseeker4552 Posted September 15, 2020 Posted September 15, 2020 I can't wait to see hardcore enthusiasts start debating whether this is now a steel coaster or not. They should keep it half and half!
