TB305
Correct. I meant to say he *helped* plan/design those attractions. Whoops!
thrillrider
I just found this neat night shot of the park in one of my picture libraries.

ferk60
One of my friends who works at Cedar Point told me that he overheard Rob Decker (Head of maintenance, i think?) talking about a dive coaster for next year, and it being the third tallest coaster in the park. Which agrees completely with the memo, but basically it's nothing new, could just be another rumor for the rumor mill. But personally I'll count it as semi-confirmed Your friend? What does he do that he can hear someone that high up the food chain just saying willy nilly anything about 2016? Most of the time don't parks use code names for new major attractions. The only fact he heard while they were planning is that it would be the third tallest in the park? No Location? Name? Nothing New?

You would be surprised at just what the Suits and Silver Tags talk about in front of Seasonal Employees about future additions, and most of them I heard while working there were built. Texascoaster89
Nifty tease, looks like they probably will add a roller coaster once a week to the timeline leading up to the reveal of their new one near the end of August. Exciting stuff!
DaMarkSta
Hey guys thought I'd share a mini trip report and photos from the Brew and BBQ festival I attended yesterday. It was a great event at Cedar Point and an amazing way to escape kids and noise on a very busy weekend. I've arrived at the Point for a beautiful weekend! And today's event consists of Brew and BBQ! Flowers are finally planted. The season began with this being a plot of dirt. The new Lakeside Pavilions. Special event! The awesome Woodstock fountain inside the new Lakeside Pavilion. RougaBrew display. Lot's of beer to try! Take your pick. Great Lakes is a local favorite. Cedar Point has a partnership with Brew Kettle this year who brewed the RougaBREW and..... All for One CAVS IPA! Go Cavs! Yuengling another favorite in the area. There was a band playing during the event. And then this is the view you get while tasting your beers. This is how the event worked. 1 ticket either got you a 4 oz sample of beer or a small food plate. 3 tickets got you a full beer or a full plate. Awesome way to give plenty of choice to guests. Pouring a beer. Some of the breweries even had stickers and pins they were giving out. And for a break from the action we checked out the All Wheels Extreme show featuring selfie sticks this year. #noselfiesticks Always a high action show. So long from the Point! Brew and BBQ was a great event and it's also running next weekend! If you're a fan of craft beer don't miss it! It's only $15 with park admission and $55 if you don't have admission into park. You are provided with 15 sample tickets to do with what you want. If you're getting beer that's $1 for 4 oz, a great deal inside an amusement park. Sadly I didn't grab any pictures of the food since the line was long and we have the dining plan on our pass. We just decided to drink our way through. Jodon
Got a quick question: If I buy tickets online, can I show the ticket for entry on my phone or do I have to have a hard copy?

Yes, my friend works lockers and stated that it was before park hours. This tease is REALLY cool, though. Surely surely hints at a roller coaster, but haven't we determined that already

"get your towels ready, it's about to go down!" (in complete seriousness, your comment was perfect and I shouldn't have made another attempt at quoting a song about a boat, a far inferior song at that.. and for that, I'm sorry, but I also applaud you)
Intimidator305
Thanks for sharing the photos! The event seems like a very good deal and definitely worth a visit. I'm hoping a more brew-oriented event like this comes to Kings Dominion in the future - I guess the Spring Bloom Festival was a start this season. I'll be up at Cedar Point this time next season for 2016RollerCoaster1, so hopefully they'll have it again this time next year!
DoinItForTheFame
Anyone else see this timeline added to the construction fence? Can't wait for the announcement in August!! Okay, maybe I am just over thinking this, but look how the arrows at the top of this timeline continue pointing to the right, and how it seems to have an open end above Cedar Creek Mine Ride. Do we think that maybe through the season the will periodically add a new coaster "sign" to the timeline, leading up to finally adding a sign for the new coaster, at or after the time of the official announcement? Just a thought, but it would be cool to see the timeline progress like that, and would be a really awesome touch by from the park.
Comeagain?
That absolutely looks like a sign designed to "grow" over a period of time.
whatabeast
I wonder if they'll include defunct roller coasters. I doubt it, but that would be interesting.
MagnumFreak25
They would've started with earlier rides than blue streak, so probably not. But that is a definite confirmation of a roller coaster next year.

My dog-sitter is on vacation for two weeks and does not get back until next Saturday. I was thinking about sneaking out next Sunday, but we'll see. If not, for sure next year as I LOVE the fact that more parks are starting to do this type of thing!
