very odd. . . it wont' open up much space. . wonder what will go there to replace it.

edit:  just realized:  and S&S Freespin would fit there. . . and Kings Dominion is getting one.   So I have to wonder if that's what CP will be getting in that space.

Yeah, that's really the only ride that could fit in that footprint.  The Freespins don't have great capacity, but then again neither did WT.  However, it never has much of a line and it had a great setting right on the beach.  Glad I got to ride it one last time when I went in June.

Wicked Twister has lots of dead space. Huge loads of nothing in front of the ride and the old theater that was tore down. Shuffle some rides around. I think we would be surprised what could be crammed in there

I can't see Cedar Point getting a Free Spin. Isn't like them to plop in a clone.

Hopefully this is that possible "boardwalk" type section that was rumored to be coming at some point. Getting rid of Wicked Twister clears a lot of frontage along the beach.

I'll miss it a bit, it was one of my favorite "unpopular" rides at CP and could always count on it being a walk on when other coasters had hour + waits. But I'm sure it will be more enjoyed at Michigan's Adventure or wherever it ends up and I know CP will do something good to replace it.

CGA's 5-year plan a few years back included installing an Intamin Impulse, and showed a picture of Wicked Twister. I'm curious to see if it gets relocated there, but not getting my hopes up. WT is almost 20 years old at this point, and Cedar Fair rarely relocates old rides.

If that theater is torn out you actually have a decent footprint.  I could see an infinity coaster squeezing in right there.

Then I guess Dorney Park is the exception that proves the rule since Demon Drop, Possessed, and Stinger were all relocated.

Possessed, along with Thunderhawk, Dominator, Firehawk and the Flying Cobras all came from GL and are a different story

Move Tiki Twirl and wrap around the Ferris Wheel and you really have some land to use

No idea why it is to post?

PLOT TWIST: they’re just reversing the trains and painting it purple 😂

But in all seriousness, I’m a little sad because it was the first ride I ever operated when I worked there, but I truly do not care for the ride at all.

That theater has been gone for like 3-4 years now, you know, right?

that theater is gone, isnt' it?

I was last at CP in 2018, and could swear that was a pile of rubble.

I usually don't get disappointed with ride removals, but this one hits different  I understand it, but can't say I'm not a bit bummed.  Looking forward to seeing what they end up doing with that area though!

Maybe it'll go to Valleyfair?  After all, if you read that thread recently, they are totally deserving of a new major attraction despite record-setting crowd levels this year.🤣

Not too surprising (we all saw this coming, it's been rumored for years now), but it's a decent ride which makes the closure a little sucky, assuming it gets scrapped which I think it will be.

Wicked Twister is very integral to the park's skyline. It will be super odd without it. Glad I am able to ride it one last time, I'm heading there the week before it closes.

Literally my only memory of that theater is that it was in just the right position that the seagulls could crap onto the Windseeker queue down below. WIndseeker had just opened so the queue was pretty busy and watching people run through that stretch of queue as you slowly got closer to that same area going through the poop gauntlet was probably more entertaining than the ride itself.

That sucks. I love Wicked Twister. :(

I'm pretty sure that you'll only have to change the park to ride it again! :)

Well, they proved 22 years ago that the Ferris Wheel is pretty easy moveable. Same goes for the other flat rides there. That's a pretty huge place for an attraction, that might or might not be interferring with the beach (*cough* GCI beach woodie *cough*).

In total, I'm not sad that it is going away. I really hated it. I'm sorry for Sarah as she loved it. Perhaps it's going to Dorney (or KI to replace Stinger!?), so she might have another shot. That we will ever hit MIA is highly unlikely. I'm curious what will be going here and looking forward to ride it in 2032.

It’s probably a very expensive ride to run and it’s an Intamin so it’s also probably a very expensive ride to maintain and it opens at 11 and isn’t that popular. The writing has been on the wall for years.

This is kind of a bummer since it’s a straight-budget cut (it’s a tiny footprint, it’s not like it’s in the way of anything that they couldn’t have put literally anywhere else) but I do hope that they fill that space in with something cool. I don’t even care if it’s a ride, a restaurant and bar with views of the beach would be awesome.

I'd be down with that. One of the things I love about Cedar Point is that whenever I need a trash can or a bathroom, there's always one right in front of me. The park just isn't quite at that level with their bars yet.

I know this ride has a small handful of passionate fans, but it was always CP's forgotten coaster to me. There were days I'd genuinely not even remember it was there until I actually saw it. Hopefully it goes to another CF park that can really use it.

Not what most of us are pining away for, but one niche CP hasn't filled is a large, modern, family coaster. They could easily fit something pretty cool from Gerstlauer, Premier, or Vekoma in that footprint. Me? I still want that retro, beachfront out & back woodie that we'll never get.
