Garet
^ Was there a huge shortage of rooms before? Were employees having to rent off-property? I guess landlords are less likely to want to rent to groups of college kids, but as someone over 30, if I was unemployed post-corona, struggling to find work, I feel like cheap housing would be a huge sell to get me to do the full operational year and could be sold on a low paying job since it'd basically just be a place for me to crash when work is done. I feel like there must be a lot of people who would be the same.
grsupercity
I am guessing 18 year old females did not want to live close to 45 year old men lol
michaellynn4
^ I suspect this may be a bit closer to the truth than we realize.
southpuddle
Oh dear. My last summer working at Cedar Point was the summer after my last year of college. I was 24 and felt like I was too old to be working there Employee housing is cheap, but that’s just about the only good thing about it. Seems like someone over 30 would want something a bit less college dorm-y...
DBru
I lasted less than 2 months in CP employee housing. 17/30 year olds should consider themselves lucky!

Sounds like a stereotype if I've ever heard of one. In a lot of circumstances, it's easier for an older person with years of established credit to find someone willing to rent to them. They 'should' also be more financially established and willing to afford something outside of a dorm. This frees up space for young employees who need more financial and logistical assistance. It makes it more attractive for them.
pianojohn
Just noticed they updated the Cedar Point website. Just when I got used to where all of the buttons were....I guess it's better, but right now it seems like the fonts are too big. You cannot access everything until you start scrolling down. Anyone else?
southpuddle
It’ll be a lot easier to find the damn park hours now. Under the “Park Info” tab like it should be. The “Play” “Stay” “Explore” tabs of the last few years were horridly unintuitive.
AmyUD06
I guess the previous version may have been counter-intuitive, but after so many years you get used to it. Not really liking the new version, which seems designed for phone browsers first and foremost. Call me old school but I actually like using a full-size computer (even my laptop has a 17" screen).
dankeykang
So THAT'S what Cedar Fair has been doing, instead of planning the 2021 season like everybody else...
coasterbill
It's the 150th anniversary, you can't go into a monumental milestone like that without a fresh new website that takes the industry by storm. 1
thrillseeker4552
I know we like to bag on Cedar Fair lately (and rightfully so, honestly), but I actually like this new website design.
michaellynn4
Getting a real "Squarespace" vibe. Feels like someone at Cedar Fair got their hands on a good promo code from whatever podcast they listen to and jumped on it.
coasterbill
Thankfully they haven’t updated this ride description so I’m cool with it...

bert425
it's immortalized on my Coastermania 2017 T-shirt as a coaster. . . Pipe Scream the coaster - it's forever! 1
dankeykang
Didn't Six Flags recently update their website designs as well? Also, that ride description is popular among the chain...
coasterjohnh
Did you see no fast lane again this year. That sucks!
qpb2004
Where did you see that? From the website it just says "Sold Out" across the board which I assume means they aren't available for purchase yet.
tndank
From nocoastercon, it sounded like they want to sell FL. It's going to be a wait and see approach like Kings Island did last year. I think you'll see them sooner rather than later. Might not be first week or two but probably soon after.
coasterjohnh
I hope so. Last year I had fast lane at Kings Island and it was like a regular day.
AmyUD06
Should've bought the all-park FL add on for your Platinum pass last year. It paid for itself last year, this year is just a bonus.
coasterbill
They would be stupid not to sell Fastlane since it's a license to print money but... you know
