kennywood!007 0
I love the trains!
Homer78 0
I'm planning to be there on Monday and Tuesday. Can't wait!
CP_RULES 0
As he (^^) said, Maverick is opening on Saturday, May 26th!  http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/fun/blog/index.cfm?entry=7568258c-5334-4733-a561-137b575bf65b  The water bombs thing sounds cool! I wonder if they just get close or if you will get wet.  EDIT- The s-curve sure doesn't look very heartlined..... I guess we just need a better picture.
Masked_Maverick 0
Am I the only one who thinks that the S-turn actually looks more fitting for the ride? While I though the idea for the Heartline was aweome it just seemed kind of out of place but then again it could be just me.
ahecht 0
I'm really supprised that the state would let them open the ride with only 3 days of testing. They must be running this thing around the clock until then to get their cycles up.
Wes 0
I'm going to close this thread since it's going to open. Please move all Maverick discussion into the main thread. Â http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=28853&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=
Wes 0
Our long national nightmare is finally over.
jamesdillaman 0
^^ With no riders you can cycle pretty fast. i think the state only requires 100 cycles without breakdown or something before opening, but can't remember exactly as it's been a few years since I was a ride operator at KI. At Beast, each train could do 11 circuits in an hour (If there are no stupid guests with problems enterring and exiting the train ), and with 3 trains that equates to 33 circuits, so only 3 hours and a few minutes to get 100 cycles, or only a full day to get 100 cycles on each train, so it's very doable. hemmy 0
Yes! I am going day after memorial day and can't wait.
PKI Jizzman 14
Water bombs sounds awesome! I can't wait to see and ride this when I go
jamesdillaman 0
Do you think they'll be like the ones at DW on their flume ride? They don't really get you wet, but shoot up pretty high in the air.
Milkchan 0
Is the media coming opening day early in morning?
pianojohn 15
Damn! You all beat me to the news! Â My roommate works as a freelance audio tech for the park, and he called me a few hours ago. He told me they had been testing Maverick all day, and then he got a call on the radio that it would officially open Saturday! Â Woo hoo! Only a few more weeks 'til I ride! Please move all Maverick discussion into the main thread.  http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=28853&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0  ^ Better yet, I'm going to combine this with the other one to make the  SUPER DUPER OMFG MAVERICK THREAD! coasterdude5 1
That's great, I commend them for the quick "recovery". I'm surprised it wasn't that "well, we could count it as an inversion, but then they'd have to change it at RCDB" element after the launch and the new s-bend.
MARK 0
All they really need to do now is paint that tunnel! It kind of sticks out.
hemmy 0
I haven't seen the tunnel in person but from the pics it looks nice if they can plant some grass and tress now that the ride is ready to open.
FeelTheFORCE 2
^^ I think it looks just fine the way it is. It's the same color as the supports.
Eric_Smith 0
It is not a clear shot but I really am happy that they brought this cam back.
haux 0
The CP blog said the first 3,000 riders on Memorial Day weekend will get T-shirts, and the first 500 Joe Cool riders on Memorial Day will get a free pullover fleece. All right. The decision to get some rides on Raptor first has been trumped.
Thom25 0
Cedar Point never ceases to amaze me with their customer service skills. Given Maverick's delay in opening is only 2 weeks, they certainly did not have to provide such a lucrative give-away. Â This is why CP is my favorite vacation destination.
Wes 0
They are probably just trying to give away all the shirts that have the incorrect inversion statistic on it.
haux 0
^Haha. Fine by me. I've got an MF shirt that says 92 mph.
gatorchomp83 0
That's SO weak. Â Missed it by 5 days...No idea when I'll be back to CP, either. Â Oh well.
