KrazyT 0
They started reinstalling the track.
Cheesey 0
^Interesting...I heard a rumor on Point Buzz that they are going to try to open it on Memorial Day...Maybe there is some merit to this rumor after all, though that is only 6 days from now. Â Now I'm wondering if they will have to do another pull through just on this part of the ride, or if since it was testing before it will be more or less ready to go once they finish installing the new track (with a few test runs.) ratdogg68 4
We shall soon find out, replacement track arrived on site late last night, in the process on placing it today
waterviper 0
You know what else I find kind of odd, this is turning out to be a quick fix as if they anticipated it! Hmmm! They probably designed that spot so an S-curve would fit perfectly in case the heart line needed removing..which it did.
FeelTheFORCE 3
I'm stupid. Sorry about that.

FeelTheFORCE 3
The track piece they are unloading is banked very little, if any. I guess the other two will be banked pretty good then. It also looks as if they didn't pour any new footers, instead, it looks like they just made supports that utilize the current footers' locations.
dandaman 0
Looks like I missed the track by a mere few hours. Â I'll have the TR up in a few days, but it sure does look all nice 'n shiny for opening! (Though there's some tunnel work being done, i.e. scaffolding and such across the tunnel entrance. Seemed odd to me.)
hemmy 0
Dude if they can get the track installed today, test the new pieces of track and refill the pond thing by next week that would be so amazing. Â Might not happen, but it is easily doable and I think CP wants this to open as fast as possible.
cprocks22 0
^I actually think its possible too. I'm guessing that they got all the programing done while they were waiting for the new track (at least i hope) and if they did then ya all they need to do is test it. Wow ... kennywood!007 0
I'm going to CP in June, early June that is. Hopefully they get this thing up and going. Although if they don't, I don't mind, the ride doesn't look that great IMO anymore. I'm looking forward to Raptor more than anything. (It's my first time to CP period.) coastrfreak2000 0
Too bad the turn into the brakes on Raptor are rough as hell. Â I must agree with everyone else, though, Maverick looks very good in person. I'm really excited to ride it.
hemmy 0
Where did that come from?
Magnumfan 0
I'm disappointed that they took out the heartline roll. It would've been cool to experience something else besides the S-curves on Maverick. I have a " been there, done that" feeling towards the elements on there.
FeelTheFORCE 3
Too bad the turn into the brakes on Raptor are rough as hell. Â It is, but if you know how to brace yourself right, it isn't bad at all.
jamesdillaman 0
^ Neither is a car crash, provided you're wearing your seatbelt and the airbags deploy properly, but who goes round looking for that  I'm glad their already installing the replacement track. I'd love to see it open as soon as possible. We planned our trip for June 14th, thinking it'd be open by then (note we planned it BEFORE we knew the opening would be delayed, but everyone knew it would be...) so I'm crossing my fingers.  -James Dillaman
Coasterbp 0
I just got back from a week trip to CP and was able to see it testing on its last day with the heartline roll. It looked brutal. Honestly. The roll was taken WAY too fast and coming out of it looked really harsh as well. It did a dead stop from the roll and would have bashed your ears to no end. Â Was also there yesterday (5/22) when they were installing the new track. We did notice though, that all the trains were lined up in the station and waiting brakes the entire time the track was removed. They also installed some scaffolding in the tunnel under the station and were doing some welding on the station track, I assume, or something in there. Â Anyone know more of what was going on in the station/tunnel area that needed more work?

Also when I was there, they were laying boards in the tunnel so workers could walk in and work, they are definitely doing something in there.
willski 0
If you look at the webcam right now, it appears as if the crane is holding the final replacement piece as workers install it. Â It would be great if they finished installing the new pieces today or tomorrow, that way there is a slight chance of Maverick opening by my visit (June 6th and 7th). I'm not holding my breath though...
Cheesey 0
Installation of the new track is now complete, and speculation on Pointbuzz is saying that the new ride could quite possibly open on Saturday.
