    • ^I don’t get the sense that this would be a major motivator for moving ahead with finally clearing the site unless it was being replaced with something that was not only a draw but would be ready in time for the Superbowl crowds, neither of which are realistically possible between now and February. They’re also 18 minutes’ drive apart, so it isn’t necessarily a major eye sore (any more than it has been since Hurricane Katrina) enough to justify to push.
    • Since New Orleans is going to have all eyes on it, and people flying into the city from all over the country for Superbowl 2025; I wonder if that put any urgency into cleaning up some of the old 2005 hurricane Katrina damage?  The movie idea is good but New Orleans really can't afford tax breaks any more than California can at this point, and movie companies hate taxes;-)
    • It's motorized swan boats that go up and down a small creek. There's a miniature train on the riverbank next to you and the Skyride crosses overhead. It's funny that Great Escape still has a Skyride considering that the incident that led to some other parks closing their Skyrides happened there. But yeah, the place was totally dead so we got a boat to ourselves and it's just a really peaceful experience and it feels like there's no way you're in an actual Six Flags park. Like I said, this park sucks from a thrill standpoint (aside from having two good woodies and an awesome skyscraper ride) but it's a park I would love to have as a home park as it's just a great place to have a relaxing day for a few hours. You almost experience withdrawal not having to deal with roving groups of teenage douchebags acting like idiots everywhere. For example... Fully operational freestyle machines right out in the open with no employees nearby to monitor them. Meanwhile, 200 miles to the south at Great Adventure they took all their freestyle machines and had to move them to where only employees can access them. Because New Jersey. I would love to see this park take out Steamin Dump and replace it with some kind of family launcher like SFNE is getting. But otherwise it doesn't bother me at all that their lineup is what it is. It's a nice family park.
    • Knotts is dead during the week in most of September and October during the day.  Fridays can be busier, and don't go on Saturday or Sunday.  Keep an eye out for ride rehabs during the offseason but they will try  to keep Ghostrider and the logride open during peak haunt.  The daytime ride staff may be short handed so operations will likely be slow but he lack of crowds and hopefully lack of heat will make it better than a weekend or the summer. I haven't been in a few weeks since it has been really hot out here.  I am trying to go back but have been busy lately.  If I can find out what is going on with Silver Bullet, I will for you.
    • I know it is a lot harder to find good food at SFMM, but Knotts has added some decent stuff over the past few years.  It is still less than 10% of the total offerings if I had to guess.  I still wish that they had fresh brewed iced tea instead of the general unsweatened stuff on the mixed soft drink machine.  It doesn't have sugar or artificial flavors but I still trust real iced tea better.  I don't drink soda much but an occasional boysenberry soda is a treat when I find a machine without unsweetened tea.  The Boardwalk BBQ and Mexican restauraunt with the burrito bowls are as healthy as the stuff I cook at home so I don't complain too much:-)  I hope the legacy Six Flags parks get  some better food based upon what Knotts offers and not the other way around.
    • Sounds like a fun day. It seems like parks are really starting to push the envelope of what is considered a family coaster. Drink a Gatorade next time. It's full of chemicals and refined sugar, but the electrolytes may help. I'm assuming you don't carry magnesium, zinc, sodium and/or potassium supplements, like almost no normal person does. (I do at work. lol) I used to think drinking my weight in water would help get rid of headaches, but that can actually flush out your electrolytes. Anyway... just a tip.  What's up with the boat ride? That looks pretty chill.
    • Well done. I like GeisterWölf (Ghost Wolf). Basically the return of Big Bad Wolf from the dead.
    • As a child of the 90s, this releases so much serotonin. My visit to BGW in ‘97 kicked off my enthusiast journey between riding Big Bad Wolf, Alpengiest, Drachen Fire, and of course Nessie. Should round out the collection really well too, as their family coaster line up hasn’t been quite as strong as BGT in recent years.
    • Got an email to vote on the name of the new ride, I voted for GeisterWölf...  https://buschgardens.com/williamsburg/vote2025/   New Attraction - Coming 2025 In 2025, riders become the beast on Busch Gardens' all-new family-friendly inverted roller coaster. Long ago, a wolf swept through a Bavarian town, turning townsfolk to werewolves and destroying the village. Forty years later, it’s time to honor the past during the annual Festival of the Silent Bells. The area is quiet at first, but strange noises are soon heard… footsteps and growling, then bright red eyes appear. The wolf has returned. An exhilarating adventure across the German countryside awaits guests in 2025 when riders become the beast on Busch Gardens’ all-new family-friendly inverted roller coaster. As the sound of screams and the echo of a howling wolf creates chaos in the familiar town, riders will experience over 2,500 feet of track traveling up to 40 miles per hour while bolting through the streets of an abandoned Bavarian village. Busch Gardens is giving guests the rare opportunity to help pick the name of this new immersive coaster. Now through September 25, guests can select their favorite name from three options: WölfSturm meaning Wolf Storm WölfsReign meaning Wolf's Reign GeisterWölf meaning Ghost Wolf
    • Great to see your post! We did HHN in 2019 and are planning on hitting it next year when we come to get our visit to Epic. Figure late Sept/early Oct will be better crowds, some kinks worked out at the new gate, and we get HHN as a bonus. We're going to force Bert to come with us 😝
    • Holy shit! I actually see some real food at a park! The chicken looks good, and it doesn't even seem like it's slathered in that much artificial shit. Scrape whatever chemical mix that is off of the beef and that looks somewhat healthy, too. Nice. Thank God for Coke being the equalizer for guests, though. They probably had to install twice as many of those diabetes dispensers to offset nutrition offered elsewhere in the park.
    • That's a good point. Hard telling what AI will have in store for us, but acting may be as much of a dead end as writing, quicker than we realize. That said, this movie studio is fucking dumb.
    • Hey all, hoping for some advice from the west coast locals on here.    We recently moved from Orlando to Colorado for a change of pace and would love to take advantage of the short flights from Denver to LA for a quick getaway to Knott’s.    I have only visited once and that was back in 2015 while Ghostrider was under its major refurb and will be my hubbys first time.    Are crowds typically pretty light on weekdays in October assuming you avoid Scary Farm? I recall it being dead last time we were there in November but it was almost a decade ago.    We’d love to ride Xcellerator while we still can and while all signs look good there for the time being, I noticed Silver Bullet is closed with no reopening date. Any intel on what’s going on there?
    • I wish Hollywood would start shooting a buch of movies before it is all gone.
    • Good to here from you on here again. I'm hoping to get down there for a night this year sometime and am looking forward to it for sure, the event is always a lot of fun and I have a great time but this year like I said the excitement maybe just doesn't seem the same. You could be right about the IP houses being a bit less exciting this year but I feel like it's maybe more so that the event has just been gong on for so long, and has become kind of predictable in that you know what to expect. I mean the houses are always fantastic looking and fun, but they're pretty similar every year. It's not a bad thing, just that 30+ years later maybe it's a little harder to really get excited for the average fan.   I appreciate the reviews, I always enjoy the original houses more than the IP based ones so sounds like a good year for that. I have heard that crowds seems to be a bit down this year. Personally I've been with Express Pass in the past couple of years when it was still so crowded that we were waiting 20-30 minutes with the express pass and I think that kind of turned me off to the event a little bit. It is like $100+ for a ticket on most weekends, a ticket and express is close to $400 for some Saturday's, so now maybe it finally has gotten to a price point where the crowds have stabilized a bit and it's a better overall experience.
