Gutterflower
Dynamic Attractions teased their SFX coaster concept at this years IAAPA showing off an insane mix of media, coaster sections and surprise elements. They also announced the worlds first installation will be heading to Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi in 2015. Little is known about the ride specifics but I found out the ride has begun shipping to Abu Dhabi from a manufacturing facility in China (the same company that build Dinoconda and the Intamin U Shaped Coaster) and the track looks like nothing you’ve seen before. Looking like a triangular version of B&M box track it is massive. The layout can also be seen below and although it’s not 100% clear what each element is there are clearly at least 2 inversions and 2 trick track sections to look forwards to. Each of the 6 trains will hold 9 passengers. The ride will use linear synchronous motors for a maximum speed of 45 mph. There will be five separate launch sections while the indoor section will contain two large-screen 3D movie sections. Source
rcjp
Wow That's . . . . interesting.
GCI Wooden
Wow, that looks interesting. The track looks really strange, it looks like they put this track on top of a large triangular piece of metal.
rcjp
^That's what I thought too. It doesn't really look like a solid single piece of track. Now: will it roar?
A113
Very exciting news! I really liked what I saw in the video from IAAPA, and I am definitely looking forward to seeing what comes of this. That track looks ridiculously strong.
canadianparkfan
Looks like a very interesting ride! Also love how Dynamic Attractions, a canadian company, is designing this
thrillseeker4552
This ride looks really intriguing. It's definitely unique.
Bobby2889
Maybe the strange casing or whatever it is, is to help the track blend into the 3D environment?
gerstlaueringvar
This is intriguing, seems like they can't come up with a very original track style so they went for this... Layout is really promising, can't wait to see how awesome the trains look.
Nickstroberg
I have high hopes for this coaster, but that track is ugly as sin.
ThemeParkJunkie51290
This needs to come to North America very quickly! I would love to have that credit, but I don't think I'll be getting to Ferrari World anytime soon.
Woodie Warrior
What the hell is that track?
Paradox
I was expecting more than 2 trick track sections.
coasterkyle
In the interview, Robb had with the manufacturer at IAPPA, they stated that the Ferrari World coaster would feature 2 of the 4 special track switches.
robbalvey
I don't understand why what the track looks matters. Isn't this ride supposed to be more like Mummy or Gringotts? You can barely see the track on those rides!
gerstlaueringvar
I think they designed the track like this because it's easier to produce. Just cut out three pieces of steel, bend them and weld together. They don't need to bend another steel pipe and design big cross ties. Actually I think they cut out the cross ties from the spare parts of the triangular main spine. This is a brilliant track design if they designed it like that. prozach626
Awesome track looks awesome. I think it looks great.
KBrylczyk
While this project is a huge stepping stone towards much larger versions if it's successful, I am kinda bummed that the gyro-track section wasn't included. That looked super badass in the video!
GwaziBSRider1
Too bad this probably won't be open when I visit the park in March!
Gutterflower
A couple of questions about this 1) Can anyone figure out where the station might be? My first thoughts were at the upper side of the left hand trick track. 2) does anyone who's been to the park know where this could fit in? in my mind there is very little room inside the dome but I must be wrong. RyanTPM
^From the picture it looks like the station will be on the left as you said.
