dubaidave
Officially very excited. Will be checking it out as soon as I get back to the sandpit!
ElectricUncleSam
^Great analysis! Love hearing that kind of perspective. Let's hope so! Here's to Intamin making a splash in the United States with some awesome unique coasters! Enough of this 300 foot boring B&M forceless floater air bullshit! I want an Intamin to kick my A$$ like RMC has done with Twisted Colossus! Looks fantastic so far! My only question is, why all white paint again like Formula Rossa? I'd imagine it really comes down to cost more than anything. Being in a desert climate, any other color would rapidly fade with the relentless sunlight/dust storms etc and add a considerable amount of maintenance if they want it to look good. Ahh, that's what I thought. If Tatsu over in California looks bad, anything with a decent paint job in the UAE's heat would fade very quickly Well let's not jump to conclusions. After repainting X2 with a different mix of paint, I'd have to say that rides paint job has held up pretty well over the years. You're calling such rides as Monty, Katun, Banshee, Diamondback, Rougarou, Nitro, Apollos Chariot, and the Batman clones "forceless"?
larrygator
[You're calling such rides as Monty, Katun, Banshee, Diamondback, Rougarou, Nitro, Apollos Chariot, and the Batman clones "forceless"? To me, it sounds like he is just not a fan of floater air.
Nickstroberg
ElectricUncleSam-The vast majority of the B&M's you just listed off are early creations of theirs. All the newer B&M's are pretty accepted as being ALOT less forceful than all the coasters you just listed. They don't build them like Kumba or Monty anymore. Where I wouldn't say that their new coasters are "forceless", I'd say that the forces are much less extreme than the rides from their golden years. In fact, the only new coaster of theirs that you put in your list is Diamondback, which some say was one of their last great hypers.
medoman
Quick question - I plan to visit Ferrari world en route to Japan next month, my flight gets in to Abu Dhabi early and leaves about 2230. What would be the best way to get to Ferrari world and back from the airport? Was thinking of a taxi, but am worried there wouldn't be any taxis there to take me back from the park. Would I be better to rent a car?
dubaidave
Will be loads of taxis. Don't worry about it.
medoman
at the park as well as the airport? does it have a taxi rank?
dubaidave
Yeah. Will have thousands of taxis everywhere.
MagicAngel94
Construction is going on NOT for Flying Aces but for the supposed Halfpipe! Red Track on a Crane! And concrete support on the left
TyRush
I wonder if it'll be an Intamin half-pipe?
hydra
That red track looks an awful lot like Premier track. Like the Sky Rocket II models.
TyRush
It could very well be one of these too, which uses a double spine type of track
DirkFunk
I get the sense that Ferrari World hasn't been doing crazy business. Still, how busy can I expect it (or Yas Waterworld) to be on a weekend?
RyanTPM
Is it possible that track could be for the SFX coaster that's set to open this year?
Gutterflower
It's an Intamin shuttle coaster. It's been known the are adding 3 coasters for a bit. The SFX coaster Intamins Flying Aces And an Intamin shuttle The intamin shuttle will have a spike which rises out of the center of the dome where the shot tower used to be. dubaidave
So excited. As soon as I get back I will head down and have a look at the progress. Gutted that my mate who used to be the media bloke is no longer there.

CoasterFEV
Swung through Yas Island again today and took a quick shots of the great progress at Ferrari World. I gotta say, this coaster is really looking impressive - and a whole lot of fun! The base of the lift appears to be in place Airtime!
boldikus
^ Looks like its gonna be awesome. Reminds me of Skyrush.
_koppen
That looks absolutely spectacular! I wonder if it will have just the one loop, or more inversions. Also funny, now Intamin have been using three different structures for their lift hills, if this get the I305 style lift with just two supports. TyRush
Looks like another awesome Intamin. Appears to have elements from all the big name Intamin coasters from what I see. Please come back to the United States
boldikus
Please come back to the United States. I don't know if anything in the coaster world would excite me more than if a park announced a new Intamin in the states. #fanboy

GeorgeT
If you take a closer look at those supports of the airtime hill...I guess that you can see, that one side of that upcoming "monster" loop will be connected to it
