WildStangAlex Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 I really like the supports. It's refreshing to see a park go with not the cheapest option for something, but rather the BEST option for something. Look at their coaster line-up. GCI for the woodie, certainly one of the best makers of WOOD. B&M and Intamin for the steel track coasters. It's not always about the quantity, but rather the quality. Busch Gardens certainly has some of the BEST coasters in the country, and this will only make that even more true! --Now only if they still had free beer...
BeemerBoy Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 For the record, paiging_jen did tell me that there are now No Trespassing signs all over the perimeter fence to the parking lot where the track is being stored. So for anyone that might have any bright ideas of taking pictures standing next to the track, you might want to reconsider. Probably because some stupid Engineering students decided to hop the fence to sit on the track.... Oh wait..... [page 122] Well upon spotting it we ran like school girls to go see the track! IT WAS AWESOME (Skipping a few details) we eventually got into the lot and went to go take pictures. We then happily returned to Busch Gardens to continue riding coasters! I suppose those "few details" were that you hopped a fence, huh?
Joe Cool Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 Oh yes I'm loving those supports. The color combination is even more awesome put together.
xmichellex Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 Don't think this has been posted yet... Just saw this pop up on a Screamscape tweet... pictures of the figure 8 construction in a test area - pretty cool! http://www.bgtnation.net/2010/12/cheetah-hunt-test-figure-8.html
RoCo Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 ^Yeah, that is some sweet figure-8 goodness! Add another voice to the chorus: this is going to be a fine-looking coaster. Any ride whose SUPPORTS get people excited is doing something right.
BigDipper 80 Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 Add another voice to the chorus: this is going to be a fine-looking coaster. Any ride whose SUPPORTS get people excited is doing something right. I completely agree. Even though the entire coaster hasn't even been completed yet and I've only seen a handful of photos, I'd say that so far it appears to be one of the best-looking unthemed (read: Not surrounded by a mountain) coaster that I've seen recently.
1pizza14 Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 Looks wonderful! I can't wait to see a POV of this!
The_Mad_Hatter Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 Question--how does the length of Cheetah Hunt compare to BGT's other coasters? Pretty unusual for a rocket coaster, but it looks like it could be the longest coaster in the park besides Gwazi!
coasterfreak101 Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 ^It's longer than all of them, beating Montu by almost 500 feet, Kumba by almost 600, and SheiKra by over 1000. EDIT: And Gwazi, which is about 3500 feet long. Cheetah Hunt is a little over 4400.
Midgetman82 Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 (edited) Kumba is 3978'. I'd say this will be the best coaster in Busch Gardens (but probably not as intense as Montu, from the looks of it). Also from the looks of the layout and where it's placed ( http://img338.imageshack.us/f/bgt2011.jpg/ ), it'll be the park's front gate icon; if the trees and scenery doesn't block it. dragonskeep Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 It is pretty. Can't wait till january 1, I have to get the absolute most out of my fun card but I can't wait to see Cheetah Hunt in person.

You definitely see it with no obstruction from the tram stop at the entrance, and the figure 8 tower is pretty massive as you walk past the theatre and Myombe Reserve. It's absolutely beautiful and had me very excited on Sunday!

Have you ridden it recently? If nothing else Millennium Flyer trains. Gwazi is brutal!! I vote a BIG YES for the return of free beer To me that was the best

coasterfreak101 Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 Kumba is 3978'. Oops. I checked RCDB for my info, and I guess in my head I mixed Kumba's numbers up and decided it was 100 feet shorter than Montu instead of 100 feet longer. Cheetah Hunt is still longer!
beatle11 Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 Already looks really good. Intamin track is so beautiful.
Chroniq Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 LOOK WHO RETURNED! Can you help me with explicit instructions on how to jump over the fence and find the track? I keep looking for it, but I can't seem to find a fence that has roller coaster track inside it.. Location and instructions on how to phsyically climb over a fence would be a great help.. Thanks!
Chroniq Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Seriously SETGO guys.. I could really use a wish right now... I mean your help.. please?

robbalvey Posted December 13, 2010 Author Posted December 13, 2010 Seriously - guys - this back and forth needs to stop right now. No further warning will be given.
Sue Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Does anyone happen to know the names of the General Manager and Ride Operations Manager at the park?
Trevor Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 (edited) The "tower" looks very nice! Source: http://www.seaworldparksblog.com/cheetah-hunt-construction-update Edited December 14, 2010 by Trevor
ernierocker Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 ^Cool photos! Although, you should probably credit whomever took those photos or if you took them yourself.
