The Test Track. A digital frontier. I tried to picture clusters of information as they moved through the computer. What did they look like? Chevorlets? Yeah. Were the circuits like freeways? Were Tests 2,5 and 7 preformed? I kept dreaming of a world I thought I'd never see. And then, one day GM came to Disney with a proposal.....

You Might Be A Coaster Nerd If....

Some Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom related ones. You keep your Sorcerer's of the Magic Kingdom Cards in your car. You go out of your way when you visit Orlando just to go to the Magic Kingdom to get your 5 cards. You care more about collecting the Sorcerer's of the Magic Kingdom cards than actually playing the game. -
I am interested to see the direction the resort will take. To quote Jim Hill "Disneyland is the worlds most famous regional theme park". I really hope that DLR can become more of a resort like WDW. Does anyone know if there are any plans to redo the Paradise Pier Hotel. You'd think Disney would want to make it a more premium experience so that they could raise prices. There seem to be a good number of "value" hotels located around the Disneyland resort. It seems odd that Disney would aim at this market, if there was a possibility to make more money. Is the demand not there? I'm not aware of the occupancy rates that DLR has.

Yes, the Escape from Pompeii debacle didn't do wonders for the relationship between Busch Gardens Williamsburg and Intamin. However, the opinions of one park don't necessarily match the opinions of the other. I'd guess the tower would be a Moser so they can theme it similarly to the way they themed Mach Tower (onboard audio, shaking seats, etc). So...Cheetah Hunt? Does anyone happen to have the plans for Mach Tower? This "debate" could really easily be solved.

Nice to see somebody actually reads my work (although this article was very late). I included some nice pictures in the actual article. http://www.coaster-net.com/news/1724-busch-gardens-tampa-to-build-drop-tower-attraction/ As for my view. I see where it could go either way either being a Moser or an Intamin. I'm more curious to see who will build the ride, than about the actual ride itself. The "Pitt Fall" rumor was thrown at me by someone, it sounds very far out there, but who knows.

In the last picture of the blueprints it looks like the drop tower may be partially enclosed inside a building (simular to Dr.Doom at Universal) That might be cool if they throw some theming on it. Nice to see them adding another flat. Personaly I hope that in a few years we may see Busch try and do another Dark Ride. After seeing all of this Verbolten stuff I'm pretty bummed that BGT hasn't really gotten an attraction with a "Story". I'd like to see more of that.

I've been playing around with using some Tilt-Shift effects in my Photography. Rip Ride Rockit Adventureland Entrance Main Street I've been using a Internet application for it. Is there a better editing program (thats relatively easy to use and compatible for my Mac) that I could use? Thanks!

I think that week is still Spring Break for local schools (I know my School District is off the week before). Since BGT Is a mainly locals park, Crowds will be higher than usual especially on the weekends. (If you go mid-week crowds I'd imagine the crowds wouldn't be too bad). Go for opening. Ride Cheetah Hunt first, than either go ride Montu or take the Skyride to the back of the park and ride Kumba and work your way over to Sheikra. Defiantly spend some time looking at the animals. All of the exhibits are really well done, defiantly take the train to see all of the Animals in the African Veldt. -Zach

Mass ride removal trends
The SETGO Guys replied to megametal's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Rides with "Hosts/Skippers/Guides" Less than 10 years ago Orlando had: Kongfrontation Jaws Island Skipper Tours Discovery Island Boat Tours And in the past 10 years live "Host/Skippers/Guides" have been removed from: Living with the Land Backlot Tour I'm pretty sure I'm missing a few. It a shame that rides like this are being removed. -
It really depends. If you are going to EPCOT you should probably eat in World Showcase. (EPCOT Dining easily trumps Hollywood Studios Dining) You have a pretty good restaurant in every country at EPCOT and even two to pick from in Future World. My personal favorite is Biergarten in Germany. The Garden Grill is also pretty good (haven't ate there in a while though). http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/listing/ You can make an online reservation here. It lists all of the restaurants on WDW Property. You can sort them according to price, location, ETC. Be warned that several restaurants now will charge you a $10 No-Show reservation fee.

Backstage Tour (At least the Tram Portion) has been automated for a while. So when your Tram gets stalled the "Narration" stops and you sit there in awkward silence, where as before at least the Host could stall. Whats even more Bizarre is that a live Cast Member still sits in the spieling position and occasionally will pick up the microphone. Having a Live Skipper or Spieler on an attraction always adds so much life to an attraction. Thats another thing that Jaws I'm sad to see go. *EDIT- Wow those walls really want to make me pay 85 bucks to go to a park. Thats just pathetic. They could've at least taken down the signs.

No. I plan my trips around not hitting lines. Avoiding weekends, avoid holidays, avoid summer. If one of my favorite attractions was closing I would wait 5 hours to be on the last train. I actually visited a park this week (Busch Gardens Tampa). I went early, rode what I wanted to ride (Cheetah Hunt once, Kumba 6 times, Scorpion once, and Rhino Rally once), then when the lines got ridiculous I took the tram over to my car (parked in row one!) got my Camera and went to see the shows, animals and take pictures for the rest of the day. It was pretty enjoyable.

http://postcardsfromfloridathemeparks.tumblr.com/ I just started it. I've been getting lots of nice compliments on my photos lately from Facebook friends and the site I report for. So I'm sharing my best Theme Park Photos. (I've started visiting the parks very as often as possible, at least once a month!) I also made this awesome logo for my little photo blog. Orange Bird, Epcot and Florida. Doesn't get much better than this.

I bought myself a Coolpix P500 in early October. Really good camera. (I had to resize of all these pictures) Here are a few of my favorite photos from the december so far. Expedition Everest Tower of Terror (Taken from the Resort Walkway from Disney's Hollywood Studios) The Boardwalk Hotel Monorail and Spaceship Earth in the early evening.
