  1. The scene in the picture looks simular to the scene from Spiderman with the Hologoblin and the flaming pumpkin head. Spiderman also has 12 scenes. I'm curious to see if it will be more simular than I thought it would be. I could see Transformers "Replacing" spiderman down the road. Seems like they're putting the infrastructure in place in orlando with the new Digital projectors. Only problem is the lack of 2 stories....
  2. ^^It's good to hear what great customer service you received. Has anyone rode Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit recently? I haven't heard a lot about the moving walkway loading system. Is it still being used on a daily basis?
  3. Yeah, I'm always surprised how it looks so nice in pictures. The Coaster(s) are in a pretty ugly location, the station is nice, but as soon as you depart you pass a backstage area. There is that ugly wall, I don't think a net would really ruin anything.
  4. They could possibly be able to rig up a safety net for that ride, the big dueling loop would obviously be the hardest, because you have to deal with the 18 inch gap and creating a rig for the top of the loop that would have to extend from the sides of the loop. A really rough drawing done in about 30 seconds, nothing spectacular. I'm curious now to see if I could possibly mock it up in a CAD (Computer Assisted Design) program to see if it would be theoretically possible. However that would take a really long time (for me) and I'm not sure if I'd be able to do it to the full extend I want. This ride has really gone downhill, at least for me. The removal of the queue was the first "strike", renaming was the second, and now no more dueling. Its still a good ride, but its just lost its original appeal. The wait times have been decreasing for the ride too, once Potter opened the waits for the ride disappeared and have been diminishing. I really hope Universal will be able to restore the ride to its former glory!
  5. The Orange Country Registers posts a fantastic video that talks about how Disney built the mountain range for Carsland, check that and a fantastic article out too! Article-(http://www.ocregister.com/articles/mountain-322993-cars-disney.html) Video-(http://www.ocregister.com/articles/mountain-322993-cars-disney.html?videos) But of course some GP idiot has to ruin it by posting a comment (apparently commenting on the OC registers website is done through FB) that says- I couldn't pass this one up to reply to ignorance like that.
  6. The Intamin rattle isnt caused by track type . Its caused by the wheels on the train. Every ride is noisy, if its a "SHOW" building they'll probably be blasting audio. If you ever go on any indoor ride (Including dark rides) that isn't playing audio you'll be extremely impressed with how LOUD the ride mechanics themselves are. Perfect example would be Space Mountain before its rehab. EXTREMELY noisy, even with the lame-o speakers they put in along the side of the track the ride you can still hear the ride clanking away. I'd imagine BGT would put in a nice sound system to play sound effects, if not the walls will defiantly help break up noise. But how long are you going to be in the show building? 30-45 Seconds maybe? There is no way they could have more than one train in there. So it'll be fine. The ride is coming along very nicely! What is the big support near the old BBW river drop? Is that just for construction or is that the actual height before they drop? That would be impressive. Looking forward to the finished project.
  7. I love how in the concept art the track looks like an Intamin Giga coaster. Looks like a nice addition! B&M Hypers are a ton of fun!
  8. Yes, The kiddie coasters are quite nice. (Non-suspended) Have you ever blacked out on a coaster?
  9. I was there too. Conducting interviews with Kevin and taking photos, and I can agree with you Robb. Media days are a ton of work. To get my work out to my editor took me the better portion of two days, working on editing photos and typing an actual review. I saw you quickly in the morning at the Ceremony, and I was with Kevin in the lines, but yeah it was a pretty busy day. You said you were out of the park by 2pm, did you get a chance to ride most everything in the park? It took me a full day and I really didn't hit any major lines.
  10. They had been doing some re-tracking on Big Thunder Recently. It might just be for them to finish that up. I've heard a rumor that they might add interactive elements to the queue at that time. I think it will be great for Big Thunder to get a little TLC, a lot of the effects aren't working correctly.
  11. I also attended media day. I was at Cypress Gardens the last operating day as well. IMO the park is much nicer and more enjoyable as a Legoland park. At the media event, it was announced the park will be expanding in May 2012 with the addition of a Legoland Waterpark. Their area also plans for a Lego Themed resort hotel in the near future! The long term goal is for Legoland Florida to become a multi-day resort destination.
  12. Yay! You have some great trip reports. You always have great pictures of some of the small details that even frequent visitors (Though not as frequent as I'd like) miss. Your trips seem to capture great positive emotions and experiences that sometimes I don't get to experience at the parks. Also, what is the "DIS"?
  13. Do you remember what the epitaph of Matt Ouimet said? -I love when parks put up epitaphs like that, its a great and funny tribute. The Carousel museum looks really interesting! I don't recall that I've ever seen a Sandusky Ohio trip report that had a picture of anything outside of Cedar Point. Its good to know that there is also some cool attractions in the vicinity of the actual park. Great Trip Report!
  14. What happened to the "Pumpkin People"?
  15. That brings back memories! Back in elementary school I used to ride a bike in the same "layout" everyday for a long time....and I'd make up a speil or recite a Disney speil the whole time while doing it. I used to also make "rides" with pushing my siblings in a wagon and do the same. Man, I wish being younger that was fun!
  16. First College Application done and sent. UCF- University of Central Florida. Really excited and anxious. Its my top choice, I hope to study Industrial Engineering.
  17. Happy 40th Anniversary Walt Disney World! October 1st 1971- October 1st 2011! Here are some great WDW pictures to celebrate this momentous occasion! ©Disney A special map for WDW 40th Anniversary A montage of Classic Disney World "artifacts" Walt Disney on the site of Walt Disney World. 18. This is great AJ. Did you use Autodesk or Solidworks? This year my Engineering classes are switching over too Solidworks since it is more relevant to the industry. Great job on the waterslide and I look forward to seeing more of your designs. I know I will have to be CADing some theme park related objects this year for a yearlong engineering project I'm working on. (Not sure if I'll post them) Oh, Thanks for the shoutout too! I was defiantly thinking that when I read the first paragraph. Yeah, IAAPA should be awesome this year! I'm just trying to fit it into my schedule. -Zach
  19. True. He mentioned this several times in interviews he gave. He claimed to have Motion Sickness problems. *Edit- 500th Post
  20. You might be a coaster nerd if.... When you come across a photo of a Rollercoaster in a textbook you automatically know what coaster it is and where it is (was) located.
  21. This is sad news, Ron Toomer was a coaster legend. He was truly innovative and contributed so much in the aspects of coaster design and construction. He will be missed.
  22. Ron Toomer- May 31, 1930 ~ September 26, 2011 (81 Years old) Coaster Engineering Legend He will be missed.
  23. James Cameron gave an interview to the LA times, on HIS ideas for the land. This is not necessarily what will be coming. One thing to also note is Staggs former position before Parks and Resorts Head- CFO (Chief Finical Officer)- Could be the reason why he is pushing for this so hard. Staggs is also rumored to be the next Disney CEO after Iger. A big success like this could skew the odds even more in his favor.
