asr Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 Thunderbolt at SFNE, opened 1941. 60 years running and still a great ride
dragoncoaster1292 Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 ^Me too! It hurt, but it was almost orgasmic, like rust!
steel Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 Probably Legend at Arnolds Park, built in 1927 (same year as Cyclone).
rollermonkey Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 Yup, Leap the Dips, 1902. Anybody been on that scenic railway in Austria (I think) that first opened in 1896, but hasn't been in continuous operations since?
RNRC Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 I havn't ridden many old coasters, but the oldest I've ridden is probably Big Dipper at Blackpoole.
apollo210 Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 My oldest is now Yankee Cannonball, and its at the top of my list !
alpengeist04 Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 Well, if you don't count Thunderhawk at Dorney, it would probably have to be Wildcat at Lake Compounce.
snuggles Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 Joyland roller coaster. Built 1949, ridden 2003, walked on it 2006. currently SBNO due to a bogus inspection report.
Cameron Posted October 27, 2006 Posted October 27, 2006 Scenic Railway at Luna Park in Melbourne (Australia). Opened in 1912, and run almost every year since.. Cameron.
redfoot12 Posted October 27, 2006 Posted October 27, 2006 There seems to be some dispute about whether Wild One qualifies as one of the oldest (because fires, rebuild, relocation, and reprofiling) so I guess my next oldest one is GASM at SFoG--1973. Not very old. I'm sticking with Wild One for now.
socalMAN123 Posted October 27, 2006 Posted October 27, 2006 The oldest coaster I've ridden is probably the Giant Dipper at SCBB. ---Brent

Ccron10 Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 Wood-Thunderhawk 1923 at Dorney Park Steel-Trailblazer 1974 at Hersheypark (also my 1st ever coaster)
