Great, a year after I went to Funderland, they add a Looping Star. Ah well, its great to see that Funderland has gotten hold of a great Schwarzkopf. By the way, does anyone know if this is going to replace the Speed Loop? I actually kind of liked the ride, it wasn't rough/uncomfortable at all anf has some nice forces.

Pssh, you can't say Funtown is ghetto, especially with the dump down the road . Yeah, Dragon's Descent is amazing, best tower ride out of the 4 I've been on and Excalibur is awesome, the best coaster I've been on. I hope the Galaxi gets sold, its a Shite ride thats rusted and not safe looking, it needs to die. Glad to see the Cannonball got some new lights, it looks incredible at night, and so does the Frisbee. I still can't believe I still havn't taken a trip to Canobie this year. Nice pictures of the "other" parks in New England, by the way.

If I could, I would visit most of the theme parks in the World that have closed, but here's my top 5: 1. Australia's Wonderland Sydney (I have a soft spot for this place, it was the only theme park that I knew about outside the Boston area other than the RCT parks when I was a member of the GP) 2. Whalom Park (So close to home, yet such a distant memory that I never had) 3. Southport's Pleasureland (I had plans to go there, but those plans got demolished just before its closure) 4. Revere Beach (Yet another park too close to home yet too distant of a memory I never got) 5. Paragon Park (I've seen the site. The only things remaining are Mini-Gold and The Merry-Go-Round, the rest seems to be a demolished land of what it once was). Yeah, I miss a whole lot more theme parks, but those are the ones I wish I could have visited before they closed.

Well, SFNE is not worth the trip south IMO. If you want to go, you have to go through at least 3 toll plazas and you might have to endure that pain of the Bostonian rush hour. And SFGadv. While I'venever been there, it must be at least an 5 hour drive to get down there because it takes me about 1 hour to get into Maine, 4 hours to get to NYC, and about an hour through NYC. NYC rush hour traffic is also terrible. I liked Funtown/Splashtown a lot (Saco, Maine). It has a wonderful CCI woodie (Excalibur), a nice Freefall ride, a good looking Log Flume, an add on waterpark (With a new tower complex for this year), and overall very well kept and parts are themed, if you can forget about the ghetto Galaxi. While the place is small, it should keep you occupied all day. The park in Old Orchard Beach (Palace Playland) is pretty ghetto, but it has quite a bit of flats and 2 coasters for a credit whores enjoyment. Also in Miane, there's a small park down In York Beach called York's Wild Kingdom which is actually well kept up by the new owners (Which I know for a fact because I was there last Wednesday) but that's hardly worth going to as it has little rides that most adults can't go on (other than the cool looking Round Up, The Scrambler, the Go Karts, The Ferris Wheel and the Haunted House). Finally in Maine is a water park called Aquaboggan in Saco, but I have not been to it yet, so I can't tell you what it's like. Near the Maine Boarder, there's a water park called Water Country In Portsmouth New Hampshire. The place has a large variety of Slides including a Toliet Bowl, vertical Speed Slides, a water play area and a whole lot more! Also, don't forget about Canobie in Salem, NH, but I believe its about 1 hour from Maine. It includes a classic woodie, an S&S Tower, a Frisbee Ride, a Water Play area, an amazing Shoot The Chutes ride, and a whole lot more! I hope this helps you on your trip to Maine.

I havn't replied in this topic for a long time but now I think there is a need to: I'm visiting a theme park tomarrow that I don't even know is still operating, but I'm visiting the area because I like the beach!

I'm pretty much a theme park fan. Let's look at it this way: Which would you rather live in: A nice, landscaped town or a ghetto? Thats what I usually think when I'm going into a theme parks and I rate theme parks about how the atmosphere (Including staff, Gardens, well matainence etc) of the park is separated from ride quality. Don't get me wrong, I still love roller coasters and thrill rides, but I love to enjoy the park on how great it is!

I've been to two water parks in my life. Water Country and SFNEs Hurricane Harbor. Well, I don't remember much from my visit to Water Country in 1998, so I'll just explain my trip to Hurricane Harbor: While I didn't really like the rest of the park, I absolutely loved Hurricane Harbor. It had a nice atmosphere, the pools and slides were pretty good and they checked the water every twenty or so minutes for obvious reasons! I'd give it about a 9/10. I love water but I never really find the time to visit water parks and while I was right next to a water park about one month ago (The Splashtown side of Funtown/Splashtown), it was closed. Even so, that park looked really good if a bit small. Also, I'm visiting a water park in Northern New Hampshire called Whale's Tale because my friend invited me to it and I passed by it on the way to Cannon Mountain Ski Resort in New Hampshire (You cane see it off on I-93).

Now time for my ranting from SFNE fanboys for saying this: Funtown >> SFNE . But yeah, Funtown had all of those random "Photo spots" around the place. Funtown, as a park is really good with landscaping all around, some theming, and other than the Galaxi (Which I like to call the Ghettoxi), the park is top notch for a small park. And I think your underrating Excalibur. I found laterals on every turn and speed all around the place, as well as the airtime filled first half the race though the woods feel. Those reasons made it my #1 coaster. SFNE is the only place I've been to that I believe I caught on a bad day. While I was still GP when I went, I found the staff rude, all of the rides having slow operations (even thought Thunderbolt was the only ride that I rode that was not a water ride), dirty, and having a parking lot feel to it. You definitely made SFNE look like a good park, now I just need to find the money to get there. Lake Compounce is such a beautiful looking park. Thanks for showing the pictures, now I cannot wait for my planned birthday trip there this October.

That explains why my coaster count is 18 . These were my 2 biggest credit whoring expreances: *I was in Paris before I became an enthusiast, and I found one of those mini suspended coasters in The Luxemburg Gardens. I considered it a roller coaster because I didn't know better (And sill don't) and because it coasted along a track. Therefore, it's a credit. * Only being 5 days home from my Summer Ireland trip, I convinced my parents to take me to Palace Playland, just for the credits. Yep, 2 credits were just welcomed into my coaster world. None credit whoring, but still whoring expreance: *I went on my town fairs Dragon Wagon twice even though I already had the credit. Yeah, I'm planning future credit runs as we speak, but only time will tell IF I ever do a true credit run.

^ 2 1/2-3 hours. You're better off going to Canobie or Lake Compounce than SFNE because they're a shorter distance than SFNE is. If SFNE can keep the good work up, then I'm definetly going on August 18th!

To think that I was in Medford today and a police man eyed me just because I was on the "Mustang" Medford High School grounds. This is seriously a coincidence, but still very funny! The Medford police force sucks, they're gangs in Medford that most of the police force doesn't know about. My Mom told me about this fair and she said there was no coasters, I hate her for saying that! If they did allow me on the ride, I would have gotten my 19th credit. The fair does look pretty cool, just a little small and the Zipper wasn't set up.

Get back to Funtown and ride it with the new retracking, now!
