    • Following my adventure late last year in Singapore, I wasn't sure if I'd be back to Asia anytime soon, but when I got word that I'd be traveling briefly to Tokyo for work, I seized my opportunity to revisit one of my favorite places on the planet, if only for two days... I hadn't been back to Tokyo Disney Resort since my trip in 2019 and I was eager to see all of the new things that had changed/opened since, along with revisiting some of my favorites. Given that this was a work trip, I was very limited on my choice of dates to visit, and it ended up that I would be there during the weekend of the Emperor's Birthday. Knowing this, I went in with an open mind and level-set expectations that I would accomplish what I could and aim to return in a future trip for what I couldn't.  From Orlando to Los Angeles and Los Angeles to Haneda, it was not a short distance or time to travel but it was absolutely worth it. I was excited to find a good rate at the Hilton Tokyo Bay where I'd stayed twice before (originally recommended to me by Robb and Elissa). The hotel is very conveniently located within the Tokyo Disney Resort complex and only a few minutes' walk from the entrance of the hotel to the Disney Resort Line Bayside Station. I hadn't realized until this moment how close the Fantasy Spring Hotel is to the Bayside Station. The last time I was here this hotel wasn't even under construction. The night I arrived in Tokyo, I dropped my things at the hotel and hopped on the monorail to venture into the city to see some of my host family who live in Tokyo. My first trip to Japan in 2006 involve a home stay with a Japanese family in Urayasu and I've been fortunate to stay in touch and see them with each return trip. You know you're in Tokyo when you're greeted by Duffy and Friends! Best monorail is still best. I was pleasantly surprised to be treated to a fireworks show from the platform of the JR Maihama Station while I waited to head into the city. Being totally off sync with the local time, I was wide awake by the time I got back to the hotel, so I grabbed some onigiri from the hotel's open-late Lawson and went about roaming the resort on foot. New to me. I wasn't able to see much since I didn't have a reservation, but the interior of the Fantasy Springs Hotel looks nice. As did the exterior around the entrance. Likewise, the Toy Story Hotel seemed to have a really fun entrance park.  Definitely the most fleshed out Toy Story Hotel I've visited to date. The next morning we got up exceptionally early (in the cold) to wait 2.5 hours in advance of Tokyo DisneySea's opening to line up. I was traveling with a first-timer, and so we had an intention to maximize our time and experience as much as we could. Knowing it was a holiday weekend we planned our second day to be for Tokyo Disneyland, but that plan could be adjusted to be a partial Tokyo DisneySea day if we needed more time in the park. This wasn't my first rodeo, so the morning dash was part of the routine. New to me though was having to try to grab Disney Premier Access (paid FastPass) and the 40th Anniversary Pass (free FastPass) as I was entering the park. It was definitely a more stressful way to enter the park, but getting those reserved absolutely changes the course of your day from there. Soaring: Fantastic Flight was under construction during my last visit. While I really would have loved to experience this one (I'm a completionist), at no point in time was I willing to waiting the 300 minutes posted for this one. The only correct first stop of the day. The queue for Journey to the Center of the Earth is absolutely filled to the brim with detail and theming! One of my favorite details is this vehicle designed by Nemo to travel the world by air (as described in another Jules Verne classic, Around the World in 80 Days). Context for the drilling machine that has dug the tunnels in Journey to the Center of the Earth, but also found poking out of the inside of the caldera within the Mysterious Island land. It's like the Hydrolator, but so much better! Long have I waited for this moment! Lava Monster is simply the best. So much so, that it deserves a second photo. There's simply nothing that compares to this land. The before-mentioned drilling machine can be seen here. In my happy place! One of my favorite subtle details about the design of Tokyo DisneySea is that the look/style of the rockwork of Mt. Prometheus changes from the perspective of the land you're in. Just so ridiculously good. I cannot express strongly enough how much I love that the park has an interconnected series of waterways that allow the Transit Steamer Line to move guests across the park via water. Always a delicious and refreshing favorite! The queue for 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea provides a unique perspective of Mysterious Island... And another queue filled with incredible Captain Nemo details... I adore everything about this place. The ride (and its added interactivity) is just such an exceptional execution of an otherwise very simple dark ride system. I love it. Time for something totally new to me! Fantasy Springs feels like a very different land compared to the others found in Tokyo DisneySea. It is definitely more IP-forward... But the execution of those IPs is really impressive. First up for our morning was Rapunzel's Lantern Festival. A great looking outdoor animatronic sets the tone for the whole experience. A very cute station. Having not watched any videos of the ride beforehand, I was pleased to find that the singing Rapunzel in the tower was actually a part of the show of the ride, not just a part of the land. This works really well for the ride. Loved this Maximus figure! The dark ride scenes inside are great too! Recognizable scenes from the film play out as you float along... Faithful recreations of key scenes in the film are played out beautifully inside. But the real show-stopper is the ride's finale... Absolutely incredible. Some may consider the ride short (I don't) but it stacks up among some of the other classic dark rides in length and manages to pack a good deal of story into it. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this one!  But there was still much more of Fantasy Springs and Tokyo DisneySea to experience...

    • Särkänniemi has shared that their new family coaster, Konect is now open! https://sarkanniemi.fi/en/rides/konect The new roller coaster premiering in summer 2026 is inviting thrill seekers who are at least one meter tall to ride together with an adult Konect is a tribute to Tampere, to courage, and to shared moments Tampere. A city that has always moved boldly forward. The clatter of hooves turned into the chug of steam locomotives. The hum of Nysse buses became the ringing of the tram. Now something new is appearing on the horizon: a track that makes traveling together more memorable than ever. The adventure begins, of course, at the world’s center of joy, Särkänniemi. Along the way you will see world class landmarks: the sky reaching Näsinneula tower and Lake Näsijärvi stretching into the distance, and of course the whole of Särkänniemi. The ride itself is the finishing touch: Konect brings together the youngest and the oldest, the bravest and the calmest, because the best journey is created when it is shared. Särkänniemi’s largest investment of the decade, the family roller coaster named Konect, is now open for the 2026 summer season. . This unique coaster has been designed specifically for Särkänniemi, so there is nothing quite like it anywhere else. Konect is the first major roller coaster in Finland that riders as short as 100 cm can enjoy with an adult. Without an adult, riders must be over 120 cm tall. The track, more than half a kilometer long, will run above the amusement park area, partly skimming right along the shoreline of Lake Näsijärvi. The coaster will spread across the Troika, X, and Tyrsky areas, significantly changing the park’s skyline. Konect is the longest family roller coaster Vekoma has ever built in Europe. It is also the highest rising family coaster in its class. This wonderful family roller coaster has been designed for a very wide audience, as even a 100 cm tall child can ride with an adult. The goal is to offer shared experiences and joy for larger groups as well, with just the right amount of thrilling fun for small children, teenagers, adults, and grandparents alike.

    • Wilderness Resort in Wisconsin Dells, WI has announced a large-scale renovation which will bring a new and re-imagined attractions, dining and more! https://www.wildernessresort.com/big-changes-are-coming-wild-waterdome/  One of our most iconic waterparks—the Wild WaterDome—is about to undergo a major transformation, bringing a fresh updated look, new thrills, and a new zero-depth area to this beloved indoor waterpark. A Major Renovation Kicks Off Starting August 24, our 70,000-square-foot Wild WaterDome will temporarily close for a large-scale renovation project. Known for housing the largest indoor wave pool in the United States, our WaterDome has long been one of our guests’ favorite waterparks. Now, just like Wild West and Cubby’s Cove in recent years, it’s getting the refresh it deserves. One of the most significant upgrades will be the replacement of its signature see-through roof. This feature has always been key to the park’s bright, tropical atmosphere that our guests particularly rush to in the winter. New Attractions and Re-imagined Favorites Thrill-seekers will have something entirely new to look forward to with the renovation. One of the two Dueling Mammoths raft rides will be removed to make way for a brand-new volcano-themed slide fittingly named Volcano Vortex. This won’t be just another waterslide—it will be a high-energy, shared experience. Riders will board five-person rafts and speed through tight turns and high-G spirals that build anticipation before every drop. Our resort leaders describe it as “Formula 1 on water,” blending speed, motion, and visual excitement into one unforgettable ride. Meanwhile, the remaining Dueling Mammoths raft ride, with its popular winding tunnels and meandering curves won’t be going away—it will simply be getting a new identity. We’re renaming it Paradise Falls to better fit our updated theming. A New Space for Littles Families with littles will also notice a big improvement. The current Mini Mammoth’s Cove zero-depth play area will be completely reimagined into Coral Cove, a tropical-themed kids’ area designed for exploration and play. Expect a mix of smaller slides, interactive features, and thoughtfully designed spaces that will allow parents to keep clear sight lines while their kids enjoy a splashing good time. The goal is to create a fun, safe, and immersive environment tailored specifically for little adventurers. A Fresh Look and Feel Throughout Beyond the rides, the entire WaterDome will receive aesthetic upgrades. A new floor and tropical paint theme will help tie everything together, giving the park a cohesive, updated vibe. Our improvements will also extend to our food and beverage outlets as well: Survivor’s Bar & Grille will get new flooring, upgraded TVs for a better sports-viewing experience, and more comfortable seating. Wooly’s will be reintroduced as Castaway Café, featuring a refreshed design that matches the tropical theme while keeping its quick-service convenience. What’s Staying the Same? Not everything is changing. The WaterDome’s iconic wave pool—one of its biggest draws—will remain untouched, continuing to deliver the experience guests know and love. Margarita’s swim up bar is not going anywhere either.  This already tropically themed adults only pool will only fit better in the space once the renovations around it are completed. When Will It Reopen? Our renovated Wild WaterDome is expected to reopen in mid-October, just in time for fall visitors to experience the upgraded space. And, we know that with a mix of new attractions, thoughtful redesigns, and modern updates, this renovation will be well worth the wait!
    • Well, apart from not being able to get my Season Pass on Opening Day (long story - not worth telling), I only spent an hour in the park, took a few photos, and got some popcorn to take home. Here's what I got.... Entrance Plaza - unbusy - the crowds have already gone in. Wheeee! Coaster is up and running. Kettle Creek Mine train coaster is a go. The new amphitheatre. Opening at the beginning of June. Everybody loves the Scrambler.   Sorry there aren't that many photos here. Hope to improve that, on my next park visit.

It’s also from one of hottest prestige directors in Hollywood: Ryan Cooger. Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights lineup of immersive experiences begin Friday, August 28 at Universal Orlando Resort and Thursday, September 3 at Universal Studios Hollywood. Expect lots of celebration, good music…and vampires. Specifically, the Sinners-themed attraction “will transport guests back in time to the popular Club Juke where they will quickly realize that nothing is as it seems when nefarious, red-eyed vampires Remmick, Bert and Joan appear with their insatiable hunger. As they attempt to evade the vampires at every turn, fans will encounter some of their favorite characters lifted straight from the film, including Sammie, Mary, Annie, Pearline and Cornbread. Caught in a deadly struggle between twins Smoke and Stack and the bloodthirsty vampires, guests must survive the night.” “It’s been incredible to see audiences connect with Sinners in such a powerful way,” said Ryan Coogler, Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian, producers of Sinners and founders of Proximity Media, in a joint statement. “Now, partnering with Halloween Horror Nights gives fans the chance to step even deeper into the world of the film — to feel the music, the atmosphere and the tension all around them. Watching it come to life on this scale has been really special for all of us.” The attraction marks yet another blockbuster collaboration between Warner Bros. Discovery and Universal following their very successful, years-long teaming on Harry Potter-related attractions, including those included in the park’s recently-concluded Fan Fest Nights. “At Halloween Horror Nights, we push the boundaries of what a live horror experience can be,” said John Murdy, Executive Producer, Halloween Horror Nights, Universal Studios Hollywood. “Just as Ryan Coogler’s Academy Award winning film, Sinners re-invented the vampire movie, we are re-inventing the haunted house and creating new ways to scare our guests that we’ve never attempted and are thrilled to bring this amazing story to life in a truly terrifying and fully immersive way.” A variety of Halloween Horror Nights ticket options for Universal Studios Hollywood are now available. This year’s event runs for a record 42 nights with 8 haunted houses, Terror Tram, multiple scare zones and more. Tickets include General Admission, the Early Access Ticket, which provides entry to select haunted houses beginning at 5:30 p.m. (subject to change), Frequent Fear Pass and Ultimate Fear Pass, which enable guests to experience the scares again and again. The Day/Night Ticket, After 2 P.M. Day/Night Ticket, Universal Express Ticket and R.I.P Tour will all include access to the new “Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift” coaster from 7-11:30pm (subject to change). • Agreed with everything here... Except restraining yourself from "knocking some little fat fuck teenager out" 🤣
    • Also, Raging Bull has the most underrated back row first drop in the industry. It has ejector airtime and a strong pullout through a deafening tunnel. It's my #2 hyper behind Diamonback, but they're different experiences. It's my # 1 in the park. You'll love it. Vertical Velocity is great (yes, I called it that.) It provides nice visuals with terrified riders. RIP holding brake. Goliath is my second favorite in the park. The first airtime hill into the claustrophobic mess of track is great. The inverted stall is also exciting. Don't expect much from X-Flight, but it's still a fun ride. The Batman clone feels much faster due to a lot of grown up foliage and the layout packed into its spot. The Superman queue fills up quickly. Wrath of Rasshaaa... whatever looks great. I didn't ride it on the last trip. I have a tough time making myself separate from my wife and daughter, even when it comes to experiencing awesome new rides. Again, just spring for the FL. Don't expect Kings Island level tidy or maintained. The crowd has also a been a little younger and more rowdy during my visits. I restrained myself from knocking some little fat fuck teenager out when he randomly put his hand in my face walking by me a couple years ago. God love the 2024 (then) sense of kids feeling untouchable. I'm not a hulk, but I don't give off beta vibes either. I'll never forget that experience.
    • The park is too large and has too many great roller coasters not to get Fastlane, in my opinion.  Maxx Force was down completely two out of my last three visits. Head there immediately when the park opens and try to catch it. Otherwise, the line has been too packed for me to care to ride it for the first time. I haven't been disappoint, since I'm intimidated by the fast launch. Even the launch on TTD gave me insane stomach tickle heart attack vibe, NGL.
    • Keyword being April. A lot of food stands don't open until closer to lunch despite the park, anymore. As far as food options go, sounds like you have it covered. I have some food sensitives combined with a strict diet. I just assume I'm going to eat like shit on park days. The best you can do at a lot of parks is salad or wraps, neither of which are that healthy for you. Some parks I have been to like Holiday World have food halls where you can get chicken breasts with vegetables. Even then, the quality of the food is on the lower end. I don't go to Busch Gardens strictly for the roller coasters. The park is beautiful and has a unique atmosphere. If you're strictly in it for the rides, I can think of a lot of other parks in the country. At BGW, you can also hit the historical areas and stay in some beautiful resorts like Kings Mill. It's the whole package. I have you have a better experience next time.
