ThanksforRiding Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 A Mondial top scan with a real aggressive program is hard to beat.
Noporian Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 Frisbee's (especially on the fairs because of their insane programs), Intamin freefalls and Gaint Top Spins like Talocan in Phantasialand. Awesomely kicking rides! It's not a giant topspin actually, there are none in the world atm. It's a suspended one.
daniellazarus Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 The Bayern Kurve! It rocks! Maximum velocity is 100 km/hr! Bayern Kurve
Sharon29060 Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 They're all at SFGAm: King Chaos Triple Play Revolution
IronWolfman Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 Any Zipper is a favorite of mine! Also A.R.M./Larson drop towers, Intamin drop towers, and frisbee rides.
isau Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 The Zipper! Also, not sure if they technically still count as a "flats" or whether they should be considered "darks" due to their unconventional add-ons, but the now defunct Dante's Inferno, Abominable Snowman, and Dungeon at Miracle Strip in Panama City Beach, FL. These were a Chance Trabant, a Scrambler, and a Tilt a Whirl built inside domes, which included music and a light show during the ride. The Snowman in particular was the best Scrambler ever: the inside of the dome had MIRRORS, and half way through the ride a strobe light would kick in. Great take on an otherwise very standard ride. The Dante/Trabant was also very disorienting. At the moment it changed directions, and at the moment it first rose into the air, the lights would go out.
gisco Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 I love giant Frisbee's. I could sit on those all day.
dropzonefan Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Well, I understand that I praised intamin towers before, but I also have to say that the S&S shoot up towers (Space/Double shots). Can provide a great pop of ejector air, and give a nice balance of fun/intensity. Launch is also great to. Also, the lower cost of the ride itself allows the park to do some other great stuff, such as build it indoors (very intense felling with the ejector air so close to the roof), as well. The low cost also gives me something to look forward to at smaller parks.
screaminkid2005 Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 My favorite flat has always been Time Warp, SFNE's Vekoma Air Jumper. Man was i upset when they got rid of it. <3 Photo Credit: Theme Park Critic
thoe124 Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 My favorite ride is Big Droppy Thing. Or probably any Intamin Gyro Drop for that matter. Image from Google Images
jray21 Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 I do love the enterprise orbits, and giant frisbees.
gerstlaueringvar Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Enterprise, Zipper, drop towers, combo shot, gyro swing/giant frisbee are all my favorites. I think drop towers win for airtime.
boldikus Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Enterprise was my fave as a kid. Over and over and over. Loved the Bayern Kurve too, but I don't know of any around here other than Kennywood. After doing some things this year, I have to say Flying Scooters @ SFA were awesome, Z:DOD @ SFGAdv & Dominator @ Dorney for drop towers. I'm slowly getting over my hatred of anything that spins, which didn't start until adulthood. That said, Apollo @ Dorney was one of the best rides I had on anything all year, coasters included. Total surprise, I want to go back just for that ride!
grsupercity Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 used to be the Chance Chaos Now the huss friss
Woodie Warrior Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Cyclone Sam's at Worlds of Fun blew me away. Just goes to show that theming and special effects can turn an okay ride into a fantastic one.
Rollercoaster Rider Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Sledge Hammer at Canada's Wonderland.
VF15 Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Definitely Zippers. They continually throw you in and out of your seat in the greatest way possible. It's too bad they can usually only be found at local fairs. If you're strictly talking favorite amusement park flats, probably S&S Screamin' Swings. They have a great mix of airtime and positive G's.
DevinC049 Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Zippers, Black Widow at Kennywood and the old Chance Chaos rides were always my favorites.
coasternate Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 The Fireball Frisbee in Santa Cruz, and Lex Luthor at SFMM.
rcjp Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Now the huss friss Me too. These things are great fun! Forceful and smooth.
glucky11801 Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 My favorite is Meteor at Dorney Park. 100% F-U-N!!!
StuckInSD Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Mine is definitely Knight's Tournament at Legoland California, which is a KUKA "Robocoaster" (huh, so Six Flags wasn't first in that fad). It's a capacity nightmare, but I love it regardless. 5 levels to choose from, and the top level on this thing is insane.
