The Knott's Berry Farm (KBF) Discussion Thread

P. 651: Montezooma's Revenge project terminated?

Recommended Posts

I was at Knott's yesterday, and there were quite a few workers I saw up on GhostRider's midcourse turnaround. They're progressing but also have a long way to go.

Oh, and this is small and random, but Knott's finally changed Boomerang's color on the map to the accurate yellow and green. It's been blue forever (even when the coaster was purple).

As of Thursday, it looks like they are starting to install top and side rail on Ghostrider. These pictures are the first turn out of the station toward the lift. The flying swings was also in pieces.

that steel has been there for a long time. months. the only place they've installed it.

Being the coaster nerd I am, with how close Knott's is to me (5 mins away), I drove down Grand Ave a couple days ago just to check out Ghostrider, and I was pleasantly surprised to see fresh new wood very apparent regarding the track of the ride. What surprised me was to see pretty much no steel placed on the new Ghostrider track. I found that kind of odd. It also looked like they have added new style wood railings around the course, but I thought it was strange that there was a bunch of steel plated track that still needed to be installed.

With the work still needed to be done, and no sight of the new trains, I really wonder how long into the summer until the ride opens up again.

^ Why does everyone get so concerned with there being "no trains yet" on new/refurb coasters? There's absolutely zero reason for a train to be on-site until trackwork is complete, anyway.

According to Matt Ouimet Knotts passed the 5 million visitors mark this year!!!

I wonder if that includes Knotts Soak City because if so that's a huge increase, like 25-35% increase over 2014. The TEA annual attendance report (which I know isn't exactly 100% correct) listed 2014 at 3.68 million, so 3.68 to 5 in one year is incredible, if it's true.

How does me simply saying "no sight of the trains" immediately translate to you that I'm somehow "concerned?" Got some news for you, I'm probably the LAST PERSON that's concerned with when this thing is going to open or when the trains are going to arrive. I simply drove by to see how progress was going.

The over-dramatics are childish and tiresome. You're 30, act like it.

Your statement that "With the work still needed to be done, and no sight of the new trains, I really wonder how long into the summer until the ride opens up again" most certainly implies that you are doubting it will open on time. There's no need to read any further into his response. If you wished to correct him and clarify your statement, that is all you needed to do. Leave the personal shots out of it.

Yeah sure, take one quote out of context and make it imply what you want it to imply.

In the same post I also mention that I'm 5 minutes away. The statement I quoted claimed I was "concerned" about the trains not being on site, not that I was predicting the ride would be delayed. Why I would be "concerned" either way?

I don't even know when the ride is supposed to open, nor do I care. I didn't even know it was delayed.
