  1. No because most people aren't traveling from those states to ride TTD or KK
  2. On that note, Hypersonic is mine too. Always wanted to be shot off an aircraft carrier, and the launch is most of the way there. Personally no interest in going to Japan so Dodonpa is not on my list. Montezooma's Revenge at Knott's uses an actual aircraft carrier catapult. Aircraft carriers use steam, much like S&S's compressed air launch systems and the G's/forces pulled far exceed any coaster's launch. I thought that was a flywheel unless I've been horribly misinformed. The cable and "bob" are from a real aircraft carrier.
  3. One, I never said that having side by side seat makes it a log ride. I said that it can have them and still be a log flume. Two, no offense, but our opinions don't matter. Every amusement ride classification guide on Earth considers Splash Mountain AND Shoot the Rapids to be log flumes, and PP is clearly a shoot the chute.

  5. Oh. The SM boats at WDW look nothing like Tidal Wave or Pompeii. Those boats seat 16 to 20 people four-5 abreast. SM at WDW only seats 8 two breast. SM disneyland seat 6-7 inline. BTW a log flume can have side by side seating, but no more than two abreast.
  6. Ninja at MM is built onto a mountainside. It makes for an awesome experience.
  7. The last coaster was Xcelerator at Knott's. In March 2015 I rode 5 coasters for the first time: Xcelerator (4x), Silver Bullet, Coast Rider, Pony Express, and Sierra Side Winder.
  8. Any log flume not built around a faux mountain or on a real mountain sucks. Splash Mountain is a rip-off of Timber Mountain at Knott's therefore TM is automatically better. SM may be better themed but TM is a better flume ride. Log Jammer at SFMM was awesome. Jet Stream at the same park sucks. They removed the wrong flume. I might be wrong but I believe Pirates is technically a shoot the chute, not a log flume. You all need to realize that there is a difference between log flumes and shoot-the-chutes.
  9. I thought Kentucky Kingdom was in North Korea?!? It's in the DMZ.
  10. Original Colossus was awesome, even after they ruined it by leveling off the valley between the two camelback hills after the third drop and installing block brakes in 1991 and also replacing the Philly Toboggan trains for Morgan ones 1987. Boooo!!!!! Make sure you go back to when it opened in 1978 for a real bad donkey coaster ride. You can see the camelback here: [youtu_be] [/youtu_be] and the block brake here: [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]
  11. You have one week to live and are given the chance to ride any roller coaster in the world, any time throughout history. Which coaster would you go ride one last time? I would go back in time and ride Flashback at SFMM (1992-2003) one last time. Sure it banged your head around, but the hairpin drops literally made your stomach drop. For those of you that don't know, Flashback, also known as Z-Force before it was moved to MM, was an Intamin "Space Dive" coaster designed by Werner Stengel. You'll notice the track and trains look similar to those found on B&M coasters today. This is because the track and trains were built by steel manufacturer Giovanola and designed by two of their employees, named Walter Bolliger and Claude Mabillard. Giovanola was the exclusive track and train supplier for Intamin in the 1980's. This is also why the three coasters built by Giovanola themselves: Goliath, Titan, and Anconda, all have the same box spine track. [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]
  12. I can't name just one favorite because it all depends on the type of coaster. Also, I have never been to any park outside of southern California, therefore my sample size is very small. Favorite woodie: GhostRider, Knott's Berry Farm Favorite (only) hyper: Goliath, Magic Mountain Favorite non-looping steel: Space Mountain, Disneyland Favorite looping steel: Tatsu, Magic Mountain Favorite inverted: Silver Bullet, Knott's Berry Farm Favorite launched: Xcelerator, Knott's Berry Farm Favorite shuttle: Montezooma's Revenge, Knott's Berry Farm Favorite family: Sierra Sidewinder, Knott's Berry Farm
  13. No they didn't. MM named it F-U-L-L-T-H-R-OT-T-L-E and said that it was a YOLO kind of coaster as part of the promotion. They don't call it the YOLOcoaster. They call it a YOLOcoaster. There are many YOLOcoaster's and FT is not one of them. If I only had one coaster to ever ride before I died I wouldn't even be in California. Yes, THERE are many YOLOcoaster's that are awesome but only one that is actually named YOLOcoaster! Just so you know, I am totally typing out the name that Six Flags gave it.....YOLOcoaster! There is no coaster named YOLOcoaster.

  15. Knott's: Xcelerator, March 2015 Magic Mountain: Tatsu, December 2006 Disneyland: Space Mountain, August 2006 California Adventure: California Screamin, August 2006 Sea World San Diego: Journey to Atlantis, August, 2009
  16. How can they be forceless? Every ride you listed has at least 3G's.
  17. Seriously that's what they mean? Dummkopts. Even a Wacky Worm coaster deviates from normal Earth gravity (1G).
  18. What does everyone mean by forceless coaster?
  19. I've been all over the internet and see so many coaster boys complain about clone coasters. I don't understand this. Very few theme parks not named Disney or Universal are destination parks. People just don't travel to California for parks like Magic Mountain, or Ohio for Cedar Point. 99 percent of the population travels less than a couple hundred miles to visit a theme park. Parks are not building coasters for coaster enthusiasts. They are building them to get locals to their parks. I'd love to have a Millennium Force clone in SoCal. Cedar Point is not trying to get Californians to visit their park just as Magic Mountain isn't trying to attract Ohioans. This is why Six Flags and Cedar Fair have a lot of clone coasters. And if you think about even Disney builds clone rides. Every park has a Space Mountain and Pirates. So get off your high horse fan boys, clones aren't built for you.
