KCForce Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 Okay, you the the award for best BGT Update E V E R! Awesome pictures, I almost peed myself when I saw the "This is where the train will ramp off the track", just funny and I really needed a laugh this morning. Lot's of great, well done pictures. Good thing you disclosed it was what's-her-name Jen's camera or something bad would have happened. Thanks for the update. Even more excited for this ride. Peace! KC
Maximo37 Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 Awesome friggin pictures... too bad the weather was crappy (and it WAS crappy yesterday...)... and some bad luck coaster wise too... but the pictures make up for it (for us at least...)... I'm in love with both Cheetah Hunt (more than ever) and waiting ever so impatiently to ride Gwazi on Saturday... can't wait... thanks for sharing those great pics...
DJeXeL Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 Thanks for the update. Hopefully those MFs will breathe new life into Gwazi. Cheetah Hunt is looking amazing.
spendleb Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 Praying this is open for the 23rd May when I visit from the UK, will be gutted if I can only view it days before it opens!
robbalvey Posted January 18, 2011 Author Posted January 18, 2011 Praying this is open for the 23rd May when I visit from the UK, will be gutted if I can only view it days before it opens! I haven't seen anything on opening date, but be prepared. Most parks like to open new rides around Memorial Day...which is the week after your visit...maybe you'll get to see it testing!
John Knotts Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 CAN-NOT-WAIT! Boy did I pick a great year to do a Florida trip!
MrMorgan Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 Okay, you the the award for best BGT Update E V E R! The comment about launching off the ramp took me so by suprise. Good job! Very funny and great photos. Thanks to Jen, too.
coast4airtime Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 It looks like Intamin is taking some Gerstlauer elements but making them smooth,(assuming they are smooth). From some angles the heart line roll looks like a heart line roll and some angles it looks more or less like a corkscrew.
redfoot12 Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 ^^Maybe, he'll luck out and be there for a soft opening?
andyuk200523 Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 So do cheetahs do this maneuver while they are hunting? Only when they trip over Awesome update, the support work on this is some of the sexiest I have ever seen!!!!
aimster Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 Nice! Very nice indeed. I should post the pics I took when I was there on Saturday. Will do that tonight from home. I'm VERY excited about Cheetah Hunt. It looks like it's going to be all kinds of awesome. And I'll be at the park this coming Saturday as well to check out the new trains on Gwazi. They looked really cool when I saw them testing on Saturday. I got some weird looks when I got all excited and started jumping up & down.
PortugePunk Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 :: DROOL! :: This thing is looking BADASS. So excited that the US is getting another zippy, low-to-the-ground racer like this. I love these. Must go back to Florida!!!
coasterbill Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 I'm pretty excited about this ride, it's just a very original layout.
SharkTums Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 Where's that "Most Interesting Support" Thread again!? I seriously love how they're using the supports as theming and making them look so awesome and badass!!!!
RoCo Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 The sexiness radiating out of these pictures is... unholy.
televisedconfession Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 What a great addition to the park. This coaster is looking more and more awesome daily. Pat on the back for Busch Gardens. Major pat on the back.
eddie200330 Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 It is finally nice to see more and more amazing coasters that don't try to break some kind of record such as height and loopiness. It should be all about the ride experience and this thing looks like it is truly going to deliver!
dragonskeep Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 Best Cheetah Hunt photos yet. I have been looking forward to a better shot of the twisty bit. When that is filled with water it's going to be awesome. Night riding is going to be just epic.
Rydel Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 Cheetah Hunt is looking incredible. I didn't think much of it when it was announced but it definitely looks like it has top-ten potential.
Midgetman82 Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 "Do a barrel roll!" Seriously, this coaster is looking great, especially the look of the inversion and the first two launches.
paiging_jen Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 And to her credit, these pictures were taken with Jen's camera! (don't need a lawsuit on my hands, now do I? ) That's right buddy!
Erik Johnson Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Another reason why I am happy to be living in Florida.
Lenaapple1974 Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 And that tease was well worth the wait! That was a PTR of epic proportion! You circled the hunt like hyena's would their prey! So many wonderful angles!! This ride most certainly looks like it will be awesome fun!! Thank you for taking the time on that crappy day to check it out for us!
aimster Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Well, as promised, here are some pics I took when I was at Busch Gardens this past Saturday... Stilt walker dude. He was pretty cool. New trains coming! Uhhhh... NOT these! ROO! G'Day! Feed me! Pet me! LOVE ME! We named this roo "Captain". Get it? Captain Kangaroo? Wonderpup thinks flamingos are psycho birds. Wonderpup met Big Bird... ...While I was molested by Cookie Monster (well, not really but...) Because we're dirty credit whores... front row on Air Grover! Cool waterfall over at Jungala Didn't ride ShiekRa that day. There were some Brazilian tour groups & they were taking up half the queue, so decided to stay a few steps ahead and went to... ...Kumba, which was a modest 10 minute wait for the front row at the time (thought he Brazilians were getting in line when I was coming back from my spin). Elephant head-butt! That's a white rhino. Don't piss him off or he'll eat your children... and kidnap the cat. And now... Cheetah Hunt construction photos! *fanfare* The water element is here. Should be pretty awesome. Giant tortoise break! So purty! Went up on the balcony of the Crown Colony restaurant to get these shots over the walls... Montu! This is my favorite inverted coaster EVER! Wheeeee!! I love the meerkats. They're so funny! Here kitty, kitty, kitty... Unamused hyena is.... unamused. Tiger side on Gwazi testing! Love the look of the new trains! We'll be back this coming Saturday to ride! ZOMG! WIDDLE HANDS! This wallaby was so little! He was maybe slightly bigger than my cats. I called him Wee Wally Wallaby. I SO wanted to take him home with me. Lasers set from stun... to KILL Just saying "U-Banga Banga" is fun! Still a fun ride. Wheee!! ZOOOOM!! Just the way this croc was laying made me laugh REALLY hard.
BarryH Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 I see you and your boyfriend Wonderpup had a good time at Busch Gardens today.
