grsupercity Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 An already amazing park just got that much better
jarmor Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 GCI rework'ed Gwazi like ghostrider for 2020!!!! I can't wait . . .
thrillseeker4552 Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 Looks great. These are fun rides, and I guess Seaworld really likes them too!
boldikus Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 Fantastic news on both counts. The Sky Rocket IIs are great. 2020 seems to be shaping up to be a huge year for both Busch parks. Can't wait!
cfc Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 The Sky Rocket II is becoming Premier's bread-and-butter ride. I like the black-and-orange color scheme for Tigris. But, yep, more intrigued by what's go to happen with Gwazi for 2020.
coasterBro Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 Now the real question is whether it's going to get the Storm Chaser treatment (2 coasters becoming 1 RMC with little resemblance to the original), the Twisted Colossus treatment (2 coasters becoming one long mobius coaster), or will stay 2 separate dueling coasters? Unless the park was trolling with the "Rocky" comment and has no intention of actually RMCing Gwazi but is instead expanding the outdoor concert stage in 2020 so their events will be more "Rockin"...
Jcoaster Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 You really can’t go wrong with a Sky Rocket II. It is the new Batman The Ride Clone.
CoasterAuditor Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 This is so exciting! What a great addition to BGT. I will have to make my maiden voyage to BGT when it opens. Oh and the Sky Rocket II is cool too.
BintamiM Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 Did anybody listen to the announcement? They pretty much confirmed rmc gwazi. When speaking he said that this was a "hybrid announcement" and that gwazi was a "rocky" ride. I just about dropped dead when I heard those words. Not only that but two big rides back to back? Busch gardens is going to roar again.
WolfBobs Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 Now the real question is whether it's going to get the Storm Chaser treatment (2 coasters becoming 1 RMC with little resemblance to the original), the Twisted Colossus treatment (2 coasters becoming one long mobius coaster), or will stay 2 separate dueling coasters? IF this is getting the RMC treatment I'm hoping it'll stay two separate dueling coasters. Preferably keeping the name Gwazi, like Iron Gwazi or Steel Gwazi. Only because I really love the name Gwazi! As for the Sky Rocket, I love these coasters way more than I thought I would and am super excited for this addition. I love the colors and the name. But being an Ohio resident I think I may wait till after 2020 to make my way back to BGT!
boldikus Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 Did anybody listen to the announcement? They pretty much confirmed rmc gwazi. Did you read any of the posts before yours?
RAWKIN_coaster38 Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 Like everyone else, I can't WAIT until 2020! It can't get more RMC confirmed than if they actually came out and announced the thing. Very exciting. I wonder when we'll start to see progress on it? Tigris looks like a great addition as well. I've only been on Superman so far, but I love it and the Skyrocket II's seem to be pretty popular. It's even better that there's nothing in Florida anything like it. Definitely an improvement from the stupid sploosh ride that was there.
B&MIntaminGCI Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 I feel bad to basically kick Tigris aside because I really love the name and the color scheme, BUT it looks like I really have to get back to my favorite amusement park in the world in 2020.
robbalvey Posted September 12, 2018 Author Posted September 12, 2018 First post updated with the official press released, images, and the video we shot today with a short interview. Enjoy!
Mrlittle Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 I’ll admit I was wrong about Gwazi. I thought after they took the trains for Invadr that they would one day just tear it down. I like the colors on the new coaster but yeah I think I’ll wait to visit for 2020.
Yeild4Pokes Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 He also dropped the word hybrid too so it's all but confirmed.
bert425 Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 absolutely we're gonna be planning a return trip to the Tampa/Orlando parks in 2020.. this just puts icing on the cake. we would have gone back to BGT anyways (we prefer to "base camp" out of Tampa) just for the great rides/park already there.. . tho the Florida version of Tempesto would be fun, like everyone else, more excited for what will happen to Gwazi. what a GREAT announcement to wake up to today.
coasterbill Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 (edited) I couldn’t be happier. So we get... - A super fun coaster that’s going to replace the second biggest eyesore in the park. - An even more awesome coaster that’s going to replace the biggest eyesore in the park - Most likely some new haunt mazes or reworked haunt mazes to replace Unearthed and Black Spot which is not as exciting but always cool for Howl O Scream fans since there’s not a ton of turnover with the houses. What’s not to love? Edited September 12, 2018 by coasterbill
Canobie Coaster Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 This is an incredible announcement. The Sky Rocket II was all but confirmed, but I was still holding out hope Gwazi would get RMCed. They managed to announce both in one fell swoop.
JordyC Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 Fantastic announcement! My plans to visit Orlando in 2020 just got a whole lot more exciting!

Hilltopper39 Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 I've been putting off a trip to BGT for a few years now but dang, if they keep adding stuff I'll have to go eventually haha.

Maybe for 2020 they'll put in a B&M wing coaster into the old station and call it Drachen's Revenge.
SteveStL Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 I am guessing the reason for the early 2020 announcement is due to the mess of construction happening during the 2019 season on Gwazi. I am really looking forward to its redesign/makeover/redo.
