RIP Psyclone
^Yes, yes we do. From what I've read, Balder cost around the equivalent of a mere $10 million. Anyone know what El Toro cost? It has been said that El Toro was approved by the previous Six Flags CEO when he was already basically on the way out--a lame duck, if you will. The current Six Flags management is not about to approve of a project of that cost and magnitude anytime soon, so I guess we should just be happy with what we're getting. As nice as it will be to have a perfectly good GCI coaster, one can't help but wish we could have had a little more.
alpengeist04
Anyone know what El Toro cost? It has been said that El Toro was approved by the previous Six Flags CEO when he was already basically on the way out--a lame duck, if you will. And it was the best move made in the park's history. Â As for the cost, I guessing around 12 million.
Nrthwnd
Mmmm my. Â The air time on that coaster was.... breathtaking. Â Amazing.
KnottsDisneyFarm
I agree! Â The air-time was more than breathtaking. It freakin' knocked the wind out of me! Also the first drop is truly one of the best drops ever. Â Way to go, roller coaster builders!
robbalvey
The last stop in Korea would be more of a "Credit Whore Day" that included Seoul Land and Children's Grand Park. Â Nothing at either of these parks is amazing, in fact, some of the coasters are downright brutal and confusing! Â But then again, we had just had a day and night full of T-Express so pretty much after that anything else is going to suck! Â I will say that Seoul Land seemed much improved from our visit last year. The entire park looked like it got a coat of paint and a lot of TLC. Â Anyway, onto some photos and a VIDEO!!! The story with this coaster is that they park bought it a few years ago and it was SBNO until about 8 weeks before our visit. Thanks guys for fixing it for us! Good thing that lift isn't steep or anything... Good luck you guys! Yes we see you evil 88 Train! We will get to you later! Apparently....NOT! Can that little car support all that American weight? Aha! They are riding the mouse that was CLOSED last year! Yes, it's grand...but where are the children? What was the name of the park we are going to again? Guys...this is the TRAIN...not the roller coaster...put your hands down!!! "I've got a long way to go and a short time to get there...." Ok, time for us to blow this fish taco stand! On to the next park! Korean threesome. Apparently "Fishiality" is legal in Korea. Is this how Koreans have sex? "Slap me through my abdomen" Rich was STILL at Dunkin Donuts! "Gee...the ghosts here sure are short!" To get rid of all evil spirits you must eat at "Seoulland Fried Chicken." But a little photoshop work tells a different story! OMG!!! It's the LADY IN WHITE!!! BOOGEY BOOGEY BOOGEY!!!! Inside the haunted tunnel the camera picks up nothing...just darkness... If you are under 18 years old don't look! This is COASTER PORN!!! Big train going into dark tunnel! Somewhere down there is an evil spirit just waiting to go "BOOGEY BOOGEY BOOGEY" at us! "Peter that's not a ghost! That's just one of Robb's farts!" "Let me know if you see any ghosts up there!" And now it's time for the star attraction at the park...the "Columbia Double Loop Coaster!" Rumor has it that this ride is HAUNTED!!! DON'T SHOOT ME! It's not my fault these rides are so bad!!! And yes, this one really IS called "Kiddy Coaster!" Team "Sad and Pathetic" take over the kiddy coaster! Two seconds before the aneurysm! "You're not REALLY going to close me into this shoebox are you?" I'm convinced that the Hi Roller must have been one of those Engineering "practical jokes" that accidentally made it into production! Team "Sad and Pathetic" on the powered coaster! I can ride anything deadly as long as there are awesome chicken on sticks waiting for me at the exit! I think the "Black Hole" portion of the ride are those death looking corkscrews right in the middle. Black Hole 2000 - No Intoxicated People! Just in case your pet rocket gets hungry... The crowd says thumbs up...that means thumbs up! Hows that legroom Dave? ...but the layout looks nothing like a Mouse. Cars LOOK like this should be a Wild Mouse.... The Wild Mouse had a bit of a delayed opening because, um....he was kind of tied down at the moment... "You all go ride roller coasters...I'll be RIGHT HERE!" No, really! It's actually called SPACE SHIP EARTH!!! With Spaceship Earth being #1 The "20" actually refers to how many rides they have ripped off from other parks. Martin gets excited very easily. Today our method of transportation would be KOREAN SUBWAY!!! doubleloopingcoastercolumbia_384.wmv Here is a POV of Columbia Double Loop Coaster from Seoul Land (it was actually shot last year) and thank you to Erik Johnson for editing this together! robbalvey
More... "Can we go to Japan now?" Â Next up! TPR's Asia trip invades TOKYO!!!! Meat lovers...smile! Non-meat lovers...make a goofy face! Ahh! Much better! Wait a second...is this dinner for humans or tortoises? Where's the MEAT!!! We arrived for dinner "Amazing Race" taxi style. The last group to arrive wasn't allowed to eat. Now that everyone has a case of crushed skulls it's time to head out! The train isn't in re-hab...that's what it looks like when it gets back into the station!!!! And just when you think it's over...WHAM! There's more! Yay! We saved one of the worst coasters in Korea for last! 88 Train has seen better days! LOOK OUT!!! SNIPERS!!! And just in case you wanted to shoot something, you'll have plenty of chances to....grab a gun...and shoot stuff.... at... um.... Childrens... Grand Park Crazy Mouse...Ghetto Sign! There hasn't been enough KidTums in this update...so here you go! Surprise drop! "Look I'll be honest...we're scared s**tless of this thing!" TheRapidsNerd
What a fun update! More good (and wacky) reasons to go on a TPR trip. Enjoyed the bonus video too. Â "I've got a long way to go and a short time to get there...." Great Jerry Reed/Smokey and the Bandit reference that brightened my day. That's one of my favorite movies, so BIG THANK YOU. robbalvey
Yay! We have finally arrived in Tokyo! And this starts the Tokyo portion of the trip...DUH! Â We got into Tokyo in the afternoon, checked into our hotel and then headed straight for some Intamin happiness...LaQua! Â LaQua is located smack in the middle of Tokyo at a place known as the "Tokyo Dome City" where they have roller coasters, play baseball and you can do some shopping! Â We stuck to mainly the roller coasters! Â Anyway, onto some photos.... Remember kids...don't play with cigarette butts or balls....yeah. Â Next up...Nasu Highland! Huh? A TPR safety tip to all little girls in pigtails. Robb does NOT look sexy as a Power Ranger! LaQua looks sexy at night. I TOLD YOU! (BTW, the Giants is Dan's favorite team. Why don't you send him an email that says "GO GIANTS!!!" to mrt0ad13@aol.com) This is where Japanese people hit balls around with sticks... We love Intamin rides!!!! And you end up with Edward Scissorhands hair! Linear Gale goes WHOOOOOSH!!! Like these guys! The spinning coaster is only for insane people... Make sure you take everything, including your virginity, out of your pockets! It's no Expedition GeForce or Superman, but it's still loads of fun! NINETY DEGREES!!!! Sexy overhead shot! Splort! Goes the roller coaster coming out of the big hole! See! I wasn't making that name up! (What's that guy doing to his pants on the video screen?!?!?) First drop on Thunder Dolphin. Enough chit chat...let's ride some roller coasters! Hellllloooooo to our brand new cast of crazies! Only in Japan are the luggage carts designed so you can take them on the escalator! Yay! We are here! Jeff is thinking happy thoughts. Dave is asleep... KidTums looks nice and comfy! Uh, oh! Time to board! See you on the plane! Can you imagine ANYTHING being "free of charge" at a US airport? Hello Mr. Korean Airplane! Soon we will be violating you with our smells. Here we are a Seoul's airport. Very exciting! robbalvey
^ Geo Panic was closed during out visit. Rumor has it that it's now been totally removed and will be replaced by another ride to open in 2009. Â --Robb

pyrocoasterkid
Can someone explain what is going on in the edward scissorhands, linear gale photo?! My question is, is why does it appear that the girl on the left has a clump of the girl on the rights hair? Creepy. Maybe extensions. But still. WTF?
