  1. Shane, I'd heard a rumor a while back that Orient Express had some small but vital part break, and there was no replacement part, no company to make/supply replacement, and no other means to create a replacement. Wish I could remember where I heard this rumor or had more specifics for you. If OE was Arrow, and it was in the middle of all the shuffle/S&S stuff, this is all plausible. Hope this helps and offers some insight at least. Great work as always on this archive. Cheers!
  2. Of all the many great TPR updates and TRs, this is my favorite. Really enjoyed it and thanks!
  3. I forget how I won a Bag of Crap, but I did enjoy it. There were some great maps and brochures from on of the many Euro trips, along with a Six Flags button, TPR chapstick, a SFKK coaster and map, and some other stuff. Oh, TPR mints too! It really was cool for a guy like me who has never been out of the US, save a boarder town in Mexico, to get this stuff, especially from the UK and beyond. The randomness made it fun, because there was much mystery surrounding the coveted TPR Bag of Crap. If you ever get one, enjoy it for it's randomness and the kindness from the people who took time to gather and send it.
  4. When I hit IOA last December, I did not have time for this area. Yes, fail. Thanks for showing some very cool details and another excellent report. Well done!
  5. Scott, thanks for another winner of a report and the most detail I've ever seen of Typhoon Lagoon. Knew it was fun, but didn't realize how good it really was. Oh, and I was TOTALLY looking at the bridge. Totally. (can't even type this with a straight face). Glad you all had a great time on your recent trip and hope to see you all next time you're in town.
  6. This report makes me happy. It'll be my first haunt event ever AND my first HHN. Awesome!
  7. Adam, I see you found some of my 501st buddies. Great Report! So wanted to see this, so big thanks for the coverage. Quick background on R2-KT: Katey was the 501st Legion founder's daughter who died of cancer. The pink Astromech is a rolling memorial to her. I got to meet R2-KT this summer along with some of the folks from the same garrisons you saw. I'm a member of Alabama Garrison and hope to working with Central Florida after the Orlando move in a few weeks. And yes, the guys from Belgium are awesome...and insane! They did a great job on all the props and sets. Just wow! We need to get together and talk shop sometime, but back to point, again, very cool report.
  8. Stuff like this is always great to see and many thanks for the shoutout. Forgot about the original style of some of the Intamin rapids boats. Funky!
  9. I've wondered what this looked like inside...and now I know thanks to you. Very cool!
  10. Finally catching up on some of these updates. This NU and Leslie Hall update is a riot!
  11. This is a great update and I really appreciate the shout out too. Thank you for that and some great pics of the park. If they haven't been added already, the DF pics would be great for the Theme Park Index.
  12. Was glad to see this report and update. Looks like a fun park and worth a stop on the way to or from Florida. Enjoyed this and thanks!
  13. 1. Rock on Celine! 2. She needs a Club TPR membership. 3. Will we see MORE slides?
  14. Neat video and cute show. I got a laugh or two. Of course, the World of Warcraft/Morrowind/D&D side of me took to the fantasy portions of it, much like the rest of WWoHP. Not being a hardcore Harry Potter fan however, I'm sure there's a bunch of other little stuff to the area I'd appreciate more if I was. I'd like to see this finished area in person for final judgement, but from what' been shown so far, agreed with Robb. Even so, I still want some Butter Beer and a wand from Olivander's.
  15. Know I'm waaaay late to the party here, but this gave me a good chuckle. Thanks Wes!
  16. Agreed. While it's a great game series, this seems really thin on content, let alone developing a quality story for a movie. Kind of like Doom. Great game, very limited and meh movie. The only other thing that came to mind was Sony possibly pulling this move to keep others from developing a movie. Granted, it's a long shot, but it stirred in the gut. Time will tell here.
  17. One the last things I saw before leaving Orlando was Pop Century and the abandoned other side. Hope this bears fruit and they use the current resources well. With this same thinking, and granted, it's a bit of a pipe dream, let's hope something good comes to Downtown Disney Pleasure Island or the other supposed shopping district that was laid out but never finished.
  18. Somehow, I can see the possibility of an Intamin package deal more than anything here. Elissa's point makes sense on a few levels. Would be neat to see one of those combo observation/drop towers at BGW. Bet there would be some pretty views.
  19. Some of the former Planet Hollywood gift shop and soon to be Vinylmation Store Some of the construction walls that have changed shape and expanded over the last few weeks. Still getting used to the new forum set up, so this might post a bit fugly. Here are some pics from last night off my Blackberry of the construction walls around Lego Imagination Center and the upcoming Vinylmation store down on West Side section of DTD.
  20. Some great updates and coverage to the PI goings on the last couple years. Was over there last night and it looks pretty much the same. There are more construction walls moving around Lego Imagination Center. What was a big triangular block off, is now concentrated along the waterfront edge from T-REX to the Lego Nessie. A view from the other said of the water looked like a redo of the displays and planters. Since this was at night, all that is subjective. The banners in the forthcoming Vinylmation Store windows show off several new designs/series. Haunted Mansion, sports, animals, and even the Adventurers Club Colonal were on display. Gotta tell you, it really is sad to walk through the hulk of what used to be a jamming club scene circa 1993. No, I couldn't get into the clubs because I was a high school junior, but our family still had a great time at the recording studio and Adventurers Club. For those that have never been, they had several random comedy shows put on by various eccentric characters. I remember the Boulderdash Competition where people would tell outlandish stories, and the most ridiculous won. In the central hall was a new member initiation that happened regularly and was led by the small animatronic colonal up on the wall. Basically if you took the Tower of Terror theming, and added other exotic random stuff from all over the world, you get a pretty good idea of what AC was like on the inside. Really, it was just a lot of light-hearted fun. I know there are some podcasts out there that have some of the old shows. Check them out, and you'll see why several of us who've been feel the way we do. Real bummer this place is gone. McDonald's has been slated for removal and some mexican chicken place will replace it. As of last night, the golden arches was still serving food. On the other end near Cirque, what used to be Virgin Mega Store is still empty. It's really wierd to see a Disney place look like a local mall with holes where shops and restaurants used to be. Adam, if it's cool with you, I'd like to contribute here on this thread from time to time. I live 5 minutes away from Downtown Disney and am over there frequently. If I can help, just let me know.
  21. Ok, this REALLY gets me jazzed for ANY cruise ship in the next couple years. LOVE the water park on Norwegion Epic. Great thread!
  22. Save Penguin's Blizzard River and the Water Park! Bummer this happened, but it's understandable. Hope the remaining viable rides and attractions can find good homes. Craziness!
  23. Gary, those are by far the best shots of the back of my melon known to man. Especially dig the one "with" Betty Boop. That really was a great spur of the moment day, and it was awesome to hang out with you again after Dollywood in 2008. MIB started my shooting dark ride addiction and kudos to the awesome cast member for the duel gun fun. You were missed on Toy Story Mania and Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin here recently. Next time for sure along with some water parks. Enjoyed the day and still can't believe how much we froze after Bilgerat Barges. Glad for the credit, but yikes! Well, at least we weren't as crazy as those riding in 30 degree temps near closing time. Also can't believe I stripped naked in my car with people walking by. Wait, yeah I can, because I NEEDED the warm clothes in my duffle bag. Still one of the best trips to a park I've had and glad to meet up. We need to do that again. Great job on all the segments of this TR. It's exhausting work to post and caption a ton of photos, so well done sir!
