stormrider
Looks like Big Boom and Camel Coaster got new trains that don't look like they're from the 1950s.
Wood Dragon 1988
Great update. Big Boom looks really really good for a 20 plus year old steel coaster.
thrillerman1
I love the Togo Flat Rides of Death. I really wish Beech Bend would import one of the older ones...would fit in perfect there! Â Nice t shirt Peter. Great update Robb. Thanks for sharing!
chef kitchen
I love the different colors of the different coasters that's really unique. Â That coffee machine is crazyyyyyyyy.

robbalvey
Next up was Toshimaen! Â Our morning started off with breakfast...except this is NOT what we ate! Â "I think I'll settle for the plain bread, please!" Â Mmm...KidTums goes MUNCH MUNCH MUNCH on the yummy plain bread. Â You guys look so happy and we're only in the train station! Â Hello everyone! Face the camera and look happy. Â TPR Takeover on Mystery Zone!!! Â We pretty much had the Arrow Corkscrew to ourselves...in fact, we had the entire park to ourselves! Â Here's a shot for those Arrow lovers out there. Â Japan is so awesome. Many of the coasters are plush and carpeted! Â Cyclone aka "The Log Ride!" Â "It doesn't matter if it's rough...your butt will be plenty cushioned!" Â "Everyone loves a log!" Â Here goes the log ride... Â OMG! TREE CHOPPER!!! Â The log ride is certainly a crowd pleaser. Â Every drop you have to duck from the trees! Â I just love it when my log goes into a dark tunnel. Â Condor...yup! Â "Hello world, this is my 250th Condor credit and I'm going to rush home and post to condorcounter.com right after this ride." Â There is just something about the Japanese warning signs that makes me laugh! Â Hooray! For crazy Huss flat rides! Â You all look happy now, but when that bar closes and squashes your nuts and boobs into oblivion your going to have a MUCH different look on your face! Â This ride is "Creepy Trio of Clowns" approved! Â This is the log ride aka "Cyclone" Â It's their "O Face!" Â "Same" Â "Hey someone get this human out of my a$$!!!" Â "We beat up 10 children to get on this ride!" Â Sadly, the Schwarzkopf shuttle loop is still down for the count. Â For those of you who are Japanese train fanatics, there was a model train fair going on today. Â Tables and tables full of train toys and other random stuff. Â You could even buy the JR station and train signs, light boxes, control panels, and more! Â There was TONS of it! Â I'm not even sure what some of this stuff is, but Jeff Johnson sure would have loved to be here! Â Yay! We get back to a REAL train and head to our next park! montezooma
So what is the deal with the Shuttle Loop? I am getting concerned that this ride is down for the count. I visited this park after our Japan trip and it was also down then and looked like it had been for some time. Â I hope we have not lost another Shuttle...I fear for Greezed Lightnin'. Â PS- I loved the Log Coaster! Also an interesting fact: this park has a Toys R' Us. Â PSS- Has it been varified that the train on the corskscrew came from Drachen Fire??? gerd.muller
OMG! ^Carpaccio Octopus? I've had carpaccio meat before, but Octopus just doesn't sound right!  ...don´t underrate this dish! if it´s really fresh octopus meat (and i really believe it is in japan), sliced really thin and marinated with a spicy sauce, then it tastes really awesome. you can compare the taste to sushi without the rice. I visited this park after our Japan trip and it was also down then and looked like it had been for some time. Â I hope we have not lost another Shuttle...I fear for Greezed Lightnin'. I hope not too. But it does appear that this coaster has been down for at least two years now with no sign of re-opening. Â PSS- Has it been varified that the train on the corskscrew came from Drachen Fire??? Not verified but unless another set of these trains were made besides Drachen Fire & Adventuredome's I would say they probably came from there. (They have two trains, BTW) Â --Robb

Kennyweird
Maybe instead of buying a new sofa for the living room I'll just get one of those log coaster cars. Seriously, how awesome (and comfy) would that be?
robbalvey
Next up! Yomiuriland! Â Yay! Here we are at Yomiuriland again! Not much has changed since our last visit, but this is still a very nice Tokyo park to check out when you're in town. Â Unfortunately today weather would not be the best for us, we were very lucky that Yomiuriland kept all the coasters open in the rain. Â No matter how many times you see it, "The Wish of The Emergency" never gets old! Â Here is the park from the skyway...as you can see there is NOBODY here!!! Â When you see the funky dogs ass, you're at the main entrance! Â Bow down to Mr. funky dog! Do it! DO IT NOW!!!! Â "GRRR!!! I am the Bandit!!! I will steal your money and rape you of your SOUL!!! GRRR!!!!!" Â LIFT HILL SHOT!!! Â The Bandit is a seriously fun Togo coaster (yes I said that!) If it didn't have the OTSR's it might actually kick even more ass! Â Hooray for meandering all over the park! Â Like I said, there is NOBODY here! Â We see you funky dog! Â "ENT" is Japanese for "DIE!" Â Remember, NO DUCKS on White Canyon! Â Yes, White Canyon is that RCCA wood coaster death machine that is ranked one of the top ten WORST coasters in the world! Â These "phone booth coffin cars" may be the last thing you ever see. Â "No, really guys...it IS that bad!" Â Dave made it out, but now he's permanently slumped for the rest of his life! Â Ouch! Â We're actually not whores, this is actually a full sized adult coaster! Â OK, maybe we're just sad and pathetic liars! Â See! They all feel VERY good about themselves! Â I know what the "Standing and Loop" part is, but what the hell is "MOMOnGA???" Â One side of the track is a stand up train. Â Martin prepares his "Human hand rain shield" to fight off the what feels like needles in your eye! Â The other side is a sit down. (Don't worry guys, after White Canyon this will feel like a B&M!) Â Yay! SL Coaster! It's like a really big kiddie coaster that doesn't seem to do much of anything. Â "We got in all the credits!" Â BIG EYE! BIG EYE! BIG EYE!!! Â Yomiuriland also has a number of strange walk through and dark rides. Â Don't be fooled by their pale appearances...there is some wacky s**t going on inside these buildings! Â I see a demon head, and upside down human leg, and some sheets. Yeah... Â It's like "Thomas the Brickwork..." Â We have to cut our day a little short at Yomiuriland so we can beat the rain to the next park. Â Say goodbye to the Bandit...we'll miss you! Â Goodbye SL Coaster...we still don't quite understand you... Edited June 22, 2020 by robbalvey

cfc
Strange, but when I rode White Canyon in 2007, I didn't think it was all that bad. Then I watched the Yomiuriland video on the DVD. I must've had the lucky magic seat or something--everybody else looked like they were riding a train into hell.
Jds03
So how does Bandit compare to Fujiyama, other than having a massively shorter wait?  Bandit looks like it packs in a ton of speed and power after the massive drop, compared to Fujiyama's 5 MPH turns, but then again I’m basing this off looks so my opinion doesn’t mean anything… I'd love to hear from someone who's ridden both.
