My expectations were extremely low for theming, but in that regard I just wanted to discuss the station...is there anything more Six Flags than slapping "Embassy" on a white box and calling it a day? haha. Made me actually laugh when I was watching the video. Not a fan of the station at all but again, I had low expectations. 

Anyhow, I am so excited for this addition and I think it's a great coaster to round out the 20 coasters in the park. That area of the park desperately needed another people muncher, and it will add a whole new kinetic energy to the back. Not a big fan of the name but that does not actually matter to me.

Lastly, it seems like the views from the lift hill are going to be truly special, especially climbing over the lift hill into the first drop. I'm very excited for some sunset rides on this beast.

This looks great! I like the final wave turn over the pathway as an "extension" of Jersey Devil's layout. That will create some cool visuals from the ground.

And yeah, I am not holding my breath for anything before a June or July opening. I'd love to be pessimistic and make fun of them because of their WCR construction timeline but, to be fair, they are much farther along with this already (with all foundations seeming to be poured and track/supports on site) than West Coast Racers ever was in the preceding October. And I imagine this coaster is much easier and faster to construct than the complicated mess of supports and obstacles that WCR involved.

Also, 20 coasters is a huge milestone! And they beat Energylandia! lol (for now)

If you remember for GL, once inside the building there was a relatively (for SF, anyway) elaborate scene.  And I seem to recall a lantern statue in a second room.  After that, admittedly, it was just walls... but there was/is an opportunity for a bit of a theme or scene inside.

It looks like they are reusing the old station from Green Lantern for Flight of Courage.  Sounds like an efficient way to place a station if you ask me

It's not the first time a Six Flags park reused a station.  When Six Flags Great Adventure replaced Viper with El Toro, they reused the station.  They just reversed the direction the trains move through the station.

I love this ride's placement and I seem to like Jersey Devil more than most.  It's fantastic in the back rows and still fun in the others.

I just hope the ride doesn't have as much downtime as Jersey Devil and Magic Mountain can strategically refurb their trains so they can always have at least 3 going.

I'm glad to see SFMM has finally broken their old habit of not teasing new rides. Little did we know, they were teasing the new Raptor all the way back at the West Coast Racers announcement.

Overbank cut back is like a half corkscrew into a different direction half corkscrew. 180 degree stall is a long zero g roll that holds you upside down and then turns back opposite rotation that it started. A Ravine Dive is a pretty much a dive loop. A zero g roll is like a long straight corkscrew

Fresh out of college and something of a coaster-fanatic already, Dylan was perusing the options for Six Flags’ annual pass when he stumbled upon what might be the deal of his lifetime — for a one-time fee of $150, he could eat two meals a day, every day at the park for an entire year. Since his office was just a five-minute drive away, it was a no-brainer. 

“That entire first year, I don’t think I ever went to the grocery store,” he says. “I timed it so I was able to go there during my lunch break, go back to work, then stop back for dinner on my way home.”

Though it's nothing to that extent, my office is a 10min walk from Elitches' entrance, so over summer I did a similar activity in just getting lunch there every day. It was well worth the deal, but I can't imagine doing that twice daily for years as my main source of food  I'm almost interested in seeing a before & after of this guy...

Also, how did he have enough time off during the day to go do this?!?  Think how long it would take to get into SFMM, park, walk to the front, scan in, walk to food, walk out, back to car, back to work.  Your time is also worth money. And yes, I'm surprised he didn't die.

From what I've seen at recent visits to Knotts, it's very common over there. I always chat folks up in the line at the Boardwalk BBQ and there's a crew of locals who go there twice a day just for the meal plan.

Not that I'd do something like that at any park, but it would be a lot easier and better at Knott's.  A better quality and, mainly, variety of food.  SF is mostly just burgers, pizza, and chicken tenders.

that crew is pretty big, and i'm one of them. LOL  i go nearly every day, play beary tales, then go eat at panda express.   then leave and get some work done.   many times returning to get a second meal.  you just see a flock of the same people rushing in before closing to get food.  LOL

I have some friends that live near SFMM and do the same - though they don't go every day. They stop in before dinner time, jump on a ride or two, and grab food to go.

I absolutely know people at Great Adventure who spend like 50 cents per meal by the end of the season but then there are people like us who usually don't even use all of the meal credits on a given day and go like 10 times a season where they're probably making a killing.

It depends. If you go to a park with a Go Fresh Cafe or something you could eat healthy food. It would still taste like shit but if you're a broke college kid and the plan is to eat healthy for 30 cents a day and maybe you look at the fact that you have to walk so far there and back to get it as bonus exercise I guess it's viable for a select few people.

Honestly after reading the article, this guy's idea was pretty solid in his situation (a broke guy right out of college with crazy student loan debt who liked coasters anyway who worked 5 minutes away from a park open 365 days a year) as long as he didn't just eat fried shit all day every day and it sounds like he tried to eat the healthier stuff after the first year. lol

I can't hate on this at all. I tried. Going into that article I totally planned on it but actually I just have to give him props.

Knott's is big for people just going for meals.  I talk to many people that have passes with season meals but refuse to pay for parking or ever ride or view any attractions.  If they have to wait over 10 min for any meal, they start to whine that it was faster yesterday, but most people are pretty nice, but a bit impatient.  They don't ever plan to spend over an hour in the park, so the free marketplace parking works for them.  Many get their meals to go, and the to go boxes are stocked right next to several of the registers so people don't even need to ask.  It is a yearly take out meal plan for them.  The fact they have to walk through an amusement park to get their meal is a hassle and not a benefit.  I saw the really trash action of someone trying to fill up a giant thermos with BBQ sauce.  I felt like I was with the ghetto people at El Pollo Loco who bring their own tupperware to steal salsa.
