For me Voyage all the way, especially in the back. The floater time is insane.

 

Before they trimmed it to death Beast was really good.

Though I've rode El Toro 30+ times... my favorite wooden coaster drop was Hercules at Dorney Park. That drop was awesome and was the height record breaker when it first came out. Plus it was a rough as all hell coaster and I love that.

Cyclone at Lakeside has an awsome drop that has air time that is unmatched if you sit up front.

Just recently, El Toro became my best wooden first drop. Just so unbelievably steep.

Cyclops at Mt. Olypmus. Theres no comparison to that wild airtime that can almost push you out of the car...

 

 

Honorable mentions: Hades. Hate playing favorites to a park, but freefall into complete darkness is pretty sweet...

El Toro's first drop is amazing. The sirtime is unbielivable.

^Nah, I'd give that to StormRunner. Nice little verticle drop with a headchopper tree But Cyclops is still better. So much twisted airtime

^ At the risk of starting a philosophical debate, I'm not sure I would consider Strom Runner to even have a first drop! At least, in the context of the question. Which is to say, launching up and over the first hill sort makes the "first" drop not very much like a first drop at all, but more like a second hill (in terms of experience/sensation).

 

I think that's sort of the idea behind the inclusion of the word "first" in the original poster's question. Otherwise, I'll take GhostRider's mid-course drop over Voyage's first drop.

The best that I have experienced was on J2 (formally known as Tsunami). Now I can't wait until El Toro.

 

I still hold true to J2, even after riding El Toro.

I love how you start out turning to the right and then to the left before straightening out at the bottom.

 

I also like Roar's (SFMW) first drop, but only in the back seat.

If you are in the back seat you get an amazing amount of aitime on this hill. Once you reach the climax you fly out of your seat and then your thrown to the right.

I would have to say my favorite first drop is Hades in the back seat. The airtime combined with the tunnel at the bottom at the bottom of the hill is amazing. My second favorite is Georgia Cyclone's first drop. The airtime is just insane. Third place is voyage. The first drop is huge and has tons of airtime in the back seat.

Coney Island Cyclone: in the back. Nothing beats, getting thrown around while getting ejected a foot out of your seat!

Even though it is pretty rough I'm going to have to say Ghostrider's first drop is pretty awesome. The airtime in the back seat is heavenly.

From what I recall (remember, it's been a year of no coasters for me besides Speed), Colossus, in the back seat, with the lapbar way up.
