XYZ Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 I found another video: Not only does it have sound, it's different from the other video.
cal1br3tto Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 The more I think about this, the more I like it. It doesn't hurt that Premier has made several of my favorite launchers. I appreciate the surprise, too. I was expecting a clone, or maybe even just a flat ride.
willh51 Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Well that was a surprise. I too, thought it was Mauer at first and was thinking, "Well at least it's not a standard Sky Loop." Since it's Premier it should be doubly awesome! That first ascent looks like it defies the laws of lateral-g physics though! And I doubt valleying in the loop will be a problem, unless the train were to enter going backwards. This is seriously the craziest thing I've seen in some time. Excellent job Six Flags with all the 2012 stuff! [*On a side note, I think it's funny how such a cash-strapped company can make decent animations and others (ahem Hershey) do not.]
sammmmmy Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 ^Agree completely about the hershey thing. wow...six flags really hit a home run with all the new rides.
coasterfreak101 Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Is there a chance we might be looking at something that launches forwards, backwards, and then forwards to make it all the way to the top? The length of the launch track looks much too short for LSMs to get the train up to 60mph, even with the extra LSMs on the incline. I'm curious!
Sir Clinksalot Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 This is clearly enough to get me back up to the Bay Area next year. Hopefully there will be another "Bash" next year. I'm also hoping they go with the dual loading stations like Mr. Freeze to help capacity.
alilstronger Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 OMG this thing looks AWESOME! So sick of the super hero names though. I would like them to get some originality!!!
Sir Clinksalot Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Anybody else seeing any similarities to this and Zonga ... and weren't they in the same spot? Hope this isn't a bad omen.
Calicoasters Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Anybody else seeing any similarities to this and Zonga ... and weren't they in the same spot? Hope this isn't a bad omen. That Zonga Slab O' Concrete sure is getting a lot of use. First Zonga, then Big Spindamoneum, and now this! Can't wait to visit one of my favorite parks and ride this crazy thing!
nin Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 ^^I'm glad to see them continue with the DC names, putting their worthwhile franchises to use is always a great thing,
thrillgeek Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 I was so expecting a flat ride or a clone of some kind. This is the best idea since PB&J. Since I live about 30 min away I wouldn't mind going by once in a while to update you all with pics and video.
Swimace Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Did anybody else look at this and go... "Holy crap this thing is gonna be low capacity!!" It looks like a TON of fun, but seriously the line for this is gonna be insane.
DJeXeL Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 ^My thoughts exactly. FlashPass to the rescue! At least you can take the tunnel.....
Joe Cool Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 This thing definitely looks interesting but in a good way. I am will totally be looking at construction updates of this ride.
Kumbarider1993 Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 So this is actually 150 ft tall this time, right?
greatamerica1990sfan Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Yeah one thing comes to my mind too-very low capicity & the line will always be insanely long for it. I am saving up for the platium flash pass. It will be so worth it. There is NO WAY I am waiting in a 2+ hour line for that thing. I'm sure the price will go up to like $80 because of the new ride. They should also include Skyscreamer on the flash pass. After going this year I have decided to visit SFKD at least once every year. & Horray at least they are done with adding kiddie rides since from the Bay Area Bash TPR members reported that they said SFDK has too much kiddie stuff & might even take an area out. So now it's all about getting thrill rides from here on out!
SuperShawn Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Did anybody else look at this and go... "Holy crap this thing is gonna be low capacity!!" That was my first thought, however the two times I've been to the park its not been very crowded, and everything's basically been a one train wait. So im not too concerned over having to wait hours on end for this.
xmichellex Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 I'm so into this coaster... and agree with whoever said they'd rather have this (even if it is low capacity) than another boomerang (SFNE). This thing just looks like it's going to be a blast... and it looks like it's just lap bars! The hang time at the top will probably be crazy!
fatdaddy Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Awesome, my kids loved SFDK and have been asking to go back, but I couldn't convince myself to make the drive, but I guess now I have a reason. This looks awesome, hope there's a Bash up there when this opens, I would be so in.
RoCo Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 West Coast REPRESENT! What a year for California, baby!
harper83087 Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 This thing looks awesome!!! It's a nice fresh take on the Impulse and I love the added launch and loop vs the prototype of the ride. Can't wait to get up to San Fran for a few laps on this as well as get my new credits around the park
A.J. Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 The only thing I don't like is that tacky Superman shield. It looks like it could be ripped off of its support by a high gust of wind. Premier Rides certainly likes their holding brakes.
televisedconfession Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 This looks very awesome, and a welcomed surprise! I do, however, have this irrational fear of it valleying more than a couple of occasions after the backwards launch. Also, I can see this having a lot of downtime.
