cmullin Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Whatever this coaster is going to be, it's going to be amazing! Especially since Cedar Fair doesn't disappoint like Six Flags does.
Jerrykoala2112 Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Whatever this coaster is going to be, it's going to be amazing! Especially since Cedar Fair doesn't disappoint like Six Flags does. Yes, cause Kings Island's last B&M was soooooo good
Fahrenheit1221 Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Still wondering if it will be called Banshee or some kind of sequel to the Bat. I'm excited. A Giga would have been sweet but somewhat impractical if if wasn't Intamin. I am excited. For the first time in 3-4 years I will have a Kings Island season pass. Now that there are 2 great coasters and not just one and half or so.
Big Sexy Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 The last two inverts cedar fair has built, Silver Bullet & Patriot have be letdowns IMO.
cfc Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 As blurry as that photo is, I can't tell if they got some new coaster track or a new barbeque. I agree that Silver Bullet and Patriot are, at best, "average" rides.
DJeXeL Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 ^^To the enthusiast community maybe not but SB and Patriot are a hit with the GP. ^I agree as they aren't going to be in anyone's "top 10" lists however they are a hell of a lot of fun.
palmerleeberry Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Okay, it's time for me to add my two cents into this discussion . . . It seems like Kings Island have been teasing us with two things: what type of coaster it's going to be and what name will they call it. We all think it might be called "Banshee" because Cedar Fair applied for the trademark of that name, thus the name of the upcoming coaster. Now, we've been getting tweets from Kings Island about "wanting to ride the Bat again", making reference to a defunct coaster called "The Bat" that used to run in the park before it got remodeled into "The Vortex". This could be a possible senario: What if "Banshee" isn't the name of the coaster, but the new name of the ( rumored ) dark ride to debut at Cedar Point next year? If that's the case, then what will they name the new coaster? How about "The Bat's Revenge"? Again, this is just speculation from my part, but it does give you all you riders and amusment park flyers out there something more to ponder about.

SFOGdude25 Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 I was about to say. I happen to love Diamondback and a lot of other B&Ms old and new. Intamins may be superior, but that doesn't make B&Ms bad by any means, just "less good", but still very enjoyable in my opinion! I'm sure that whatever this is will be great no matter what!
Whodey Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Why would they use Banshee at Kings Island? They were going to use it at Cedar Point but it received bad press for the fact it the banshee wail foretold death to a family. I would think if it was bad for CP it would be bad at KI.
PKI Jizzman Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Credit to Andrew on kicentral What the heck is that supposed to be? I think it will be called Banshee hence the silver comb and the legends of the woman with the silver comb. Maybe this ride will have to lifts - like the Bat did? - Making it the longest ride. Maybe most inversions? That would be easy if it's an invert. I would love some zero-g's at Kings Island.
cfc Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 ^It could also be a player piano attached to a barbeque.
PKI Jizzman Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Let's have a piano in every headrest Or behind every row.
michaellynn4 Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 ^It could also be a player piano attached to a barbeque. "Chopsticks - the Ride".

That was also almost 20 years ago. The things that would offend people back then wouldn't necessarily offend people now.

The silver comb with silver hair would make no sense for a Bat themed coaster...but makes perfect sense for Banshee. "In some accounts she is seen combing her hair as she laments. She is heard more often than seen, wailing as she approaches the abode in the late evening or early morning, sometimes perching on the windowsill two to three hours or even days before a death. As she moves off into the darkness witnesses describe a fluttering sound, such as the sound made by birds flying at night. Hence, the mistaken belief that banshees manifest as birds such as the crow."

One would hope, but now that everyone has a Twitter or Facebook from which they can broadcast their fauxrage, there's no chance.

Let's not get TOO hyped up, for Christ's sake their big record breaking announcement last year was the world tallest and largest animitronic dinosaur!
Skramp Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 I think the reference to The Bat is this.....in it's time, the Bat was a record-breaking if not record setting inverted coaster as it was pretty much the first of it's kind, and now KI is going to introduce a new record-breaking inverted coaster to the world. I don't think it has anything to do with the name, I think it's just a reference to it's place in history. That being said, I wouldn't be against "The Bat's Revenge," "Son of a Bat," or even the original "The Bat" as a name. Just keep watching the trademark page for the next few days to see if anything new pops up under Cedar Fair.

Yeah, but we know it's going to be a coaster, so it can't be that bad. For all we know it could be almost any B&M coaster, from a giga to an invert.

I can't believe I am jumping in on all this speculation, especially after Chuck's answer which nearly made me pee my pants, but..... if you have followed the "clues" at the park and Twitter, there's that owl in the tree, the scarecrows and now the comb. Banshee it is!!!
Subject_12 Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Could it be the SBNO Led Zeppelin/Time machine?
Brassinthegrass Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Nah, if it was, we would have already seen it coming down...
coasterdude2011 Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 I think it'll be revolving around a bird of some sort. Particularly maybe the owl, I know they are obvious clues, but scarecrows scare away birds and there are owls in the trees around there.
