Comeagain? Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Hmmm...unless they improve their restraint system, I'm not so sure about that. They have... The new trains use the new restraint cylinders that are easier to move.
Vonni Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 This thing looks forceless. Having fun being a contrarian troll? I believe you may have missed the steaming pile of sarcasm which was spread throughout prozach's post. How is it sarcastic? He isn't even referencing anything. He just randomly posts something negative. No indication of it being a joke. It's only trying to get a reaction, it's just annoying. No, its pretty obvious sarcasm. If you read most of the treads on this forum you would have got the joke. And yes, its very funny! Sorry you missed it.
moneygrabber Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Why are we making such a huge deal out of whether or not it was sarcasm? Who cares? What matters is how amazing this coaster is going to be. I feel like this could be a coaster that changes the way I think about coasters, as it will be my first RMC
coasterbill Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 This ride is not a real wooden coaster.
CoasterDirected Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 This ride is not a real wooden coaster. Whoa, like I haven't heard this before So Hades 360 is the only inverting wooden coaster
cfc Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 I have only one thing to say about the great "woodie/not a woodie" debate. And, seriously, if the ride is great, what does it matter?
COASTER FREAK 11 Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Nope, nope, nope! Just ignore that and move on! LOL.

I hope that you may return to your coffee latte and Apple I-Pad unharmed. #banallhumorfromtheweb #votefortbernie
SuperShawn Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 I don't care what it is considered, the ride looks great and is going to be a ton of fun. Anxious for opening weekend in just a few short weeks
chickenbowl Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Two new photos from Instagram. They're working on the track from both ends, it's looking amazing!
moneygrabber Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Would the opening crowds have died down by the 21st? I know a lot of schools in Kentucky and the surrounding states have spring break that week, but I think most college students would hit the beach instead. I hope the weather will be decent
chickenbowl Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Another one from Irvine Ondrey. Looks like the track is closing in quickly! That's also crazy clearance!
coasterfreak101 Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 ^The way the bottom of the lift, the crossover there, and the bottom of the last drop were all layered on top of each other looked crazy in the animation, especially coming off the quad-down - looks like it won't disappoint!
BeansproutMidget Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 That clearance is insane! Now that I know that I actually am going to Dollywood in April, I'm much more excited for Lightning Rod!
coasterbill Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 I was hoping to travel like a mature adult this time and book things in advance but it looks like another case of making a last minute decision on a 12 hour drive. We've decided that we're riding some coasters somewhere that weekend, we just don't know if we're taking a road trip to Dollywood or BGW. I'm really rooting for this thing to be done on time.
coasterer Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 Assuming it opens on time, does anybody have any insight as to what days they would guess it would be the least crowded? I live a few hours away and can make it there and back in a day trip. Thanks!
coasterbill Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 I don't know. Their skip-the-line pass is so cheap that they're basically giving it away so crowds don't really matter to me.
TB305 Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 ^+1, I'm also curious about their skip the line option.
coasterbill Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 It works like the Six Flags system. You reserve the rides and it gives you a return time. There's no Platinum / Gold option though, there's only one version.
deguy123 Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 This coaster looks amazing and I'm hoping to get back there this year! I went in 2010 and had an amazing time! Mystery Mine was closed all 3 days we were there (a part was coming) and on the 4th day we didn't have tickets. We went and asked if the ride was open before we left town could we come in and ride it. They gave us a day pass and it actually was open!
SixFlagsAstroworld Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 ^ same thing happened to me. My dad was looking forward to it and we had 2 days. It was closed but it opened on the 3rd day

Guy T. Koepp Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 ^I have never had any problems with guest services. Last year we were using our bring a friend free coupons and misread the coupon. We were there a week early from the coupon days. The gate attendant directed us to guest services, and the lady there took our coupons and handed us tickets. No questions asked, no explanation of our mistake. Just took the coupons, and exchanged them for tickets. I was willing to pay for their entry, and they were all like, "No problem, mistakes happen, here are your tickets, have a great day here at Dollywood, praise the Lord and may the Baby Jesus always be with you. Go with God." Guy "Of course I'm paraphrasing." Koepp
