kickflipbacktail Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 It looks good, but yikes, I'm really hoping they finish soon so they can start testing. Fingers crossed that this is done for the passholder preview day. It's getting close. They better hope that launch gives them NO ISSUES. Does anyone know if the launch was outsourced, and if so, by whom?
jedimaster1227 Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 This really looks like it is going to be a fantastic fit for Dollywood. I love the terrain coaster feel of this ride and I think the unique elements like the wave turn are going to make this one heck of a ride!
KingRCT3 Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Does anyone know if the launch was outsourced, and if so, by whom? Velocity Magnetics.

chickenbowl Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Irvine Ondrey Engineering posted this video of them starting up Lightning Rod's electrontics - It seems they're getting to work on some of the controls now so they can be ahead once they start testing. It's cool to geek out like this! [fbvideonew] [/fbvideonew]
cfc Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Those photos of Lightning Run from the cabins make me even more interested in this coaster. Didn't think that was possible before.

viking86 Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Amazing looking ride! I still cannot fully comprehend how huge that wave turn is. horootle Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 well guys... with track not complete today, if they want to be ready for March 18, that's less than four weeks. and if they can pull it off, that will be the fastest any RMC has moved from completion to guests riding. I'm still hopeful but starting to feel like it will take a little bit of a miracle :/
Password121 Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 The difference with this ride and other RMC coasters is that it seems they're way, way ahead of the game in terms of station, queue, themeing, and electronic components. Once the track is completed I don't think it would be long at all before testing can begin, and even with the launch system you can go from testing with water dummies to testing with real dummies in less than two weeks. I still have hope that this could open on time, but we'll see. This thing looks forceless.

I believe you may have missed the steaming pile of sarcasm which was spread throughout prozach's post. How is it sarcastic? He isn't even referencing anything. He just randomly posts something negative. No indication of it being a joke. It's only trying to get a reaction, it's just annoying.
coasterbill Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Oh god relax and laugh a little. It was obvious sarcasm.

CoasterDirected Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Thought I stumbled into the Cedar Point thread for a second
djcoastermark Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 How could you mistake. There are no boats !
DoubleDown Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Very cool image! But load/unload at 80 seconds? Dispatch interval at 90 seconds? Hmmm...unless they improve their restraint system, I'm not so sure about that.
