Koasterking48
Vekoma's finest Um, that's an Arrow... Anyways, good update on Dollywood.
Mrlittle
Awesome update. The new coaster is looking great. I'm surprised they already have a plinko game for the new coaster. I guess its never to early to win a Front of the line pass. Dollywood looks great with all the lights and decorations in the park.
Coaster Cow
Great pics! But those people just HAD to be standing in front of the display case in the bakery...*sigh*

coasterbill
First of all, welcome to the forums! I know you've been here awhile but haven't posted much and I'd love to see you post more as this was a great report. Second of all I really enjoyed looking through this. They really put an an amazing Christmas event. We went to the park for the first time a few weeks ago and I'm now in love with the place. Just looking at that cinnamon bread made me hungry. jynx242
Thanks so much for the update! Loved seeing the construction going on as well as seeing pics of what is one of my favorite places anywhere! D. P.S. - you should have gotten the slushie
brenthodge
WOW - going to town on FCE. We were there just 2 weeks ago and I don'r recall seeing much vertical at all and certainly no any track to that extent. Really booking it now. My only complaint - and I need to politely mention this to the park - and has anyone else noticed - that Contry Fair area really needs a general refurb. Paint is faded, wood rot showing, rust visible etc. I know it is a "vintage" fair look, but its looking a little rough around the edges. Sticks out a bit in this otherwise GREAT looking park. Hope it gets a little love before the season.
PhilipB
CF isn't the only place looking like that. I really wish they'd take a year and pump some money into the existing park and refurbish a lot of it, especially Jukebox Junction. That place is looking rough. SuperShawn
Nice to finally see the progress made on FCE. It's looking fun, and like a decent enough reason (not that I need one) to head back to Dollywood.
DBru
Every time I see a signature picture of Tennessee Tornado nestled away in that valley, I'm reminded of how it's probably one of the most visually striking coasters ever. That spiral loop is so gigantic. It looks (and rides) magnificent. Can't wait to visit in 2 days!
rosscoe
Really need to get back here at some stage, does the mountain area get covered in snow? Would love to see the park all lite up for the holidays.
Vonni
Its crazy how much Dollywood has grown and changed! The last time I was there, Tennessee Tornado was the only Coaster there (not counting Blazing Fury)!
Rollercoaster Rider
CF isn't the only place looking like that. I really wish they'd take a year and pump some money into the existing park and refurbish a lot of it, especially Jukebox Junction. That place is looking rough. You'd think Herschend would care about upkeep more than that.
kidcoaster 2
Great photos! I love how well Dollywood puts together their Christmas event!
DanM64
Awesome photos! I REALLY like the color scheme they chose for FCE. It blends in very well with the area.
HWFan
I thought it was interesting how some of the track was more triangular shaped to provide more support in areas of high stress. Does anyone know more about that subject? The pictures were great. I was surprised that the splash battle vehicles were just winterized and stores around the track, although I'm sure moving them somewhere else would be extremely hard. cal1br3tto
Firechaser looks right at home! Even though it sounds awesome, I couldn't help but keep imagining it as a glorified kiddie coaster, and it's already looking plenty more substantial than that. The nighttime holiday lights look beautiful.
TOPGUN1993
I went to Dollywood this past Thursday Dec 19th. I was able to test out my new GoPro so it was quite fun. We started our morning off with the new Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster (It opened in August the worker said) The coaster is 5miles from Dollywood right off the the parkway. For a group of 4 it cost us $11.00 each. If your in the area I would for sure check it out. yay Dollywood Solid coaster, if it wasn't for those GCI cushion seats it would be so painful. The former HUSS Timber Tower attraction is now a patio area. From atop Mystery Mine The park was open from 2pm-9pm. We parked in lot C First view of the new "Firechaser" roller coaster. I really liked Adventure Mountain. It's really close to the midway. The nonexistant Wild Eagle line, I can appreciate the use of 2 trains however. Firechaser from Wild Eagles exit. Best station design goes to...... Wild Eagle I love how I could fit this entire banner in frame. The "show" portion of Firechaser is up on the hill. View from Tornado's queue. Dollywoods Famous Cinnamon Bread. We shared 3 breads of crack among 4 of us. *I was smart and didn't ride this after eating a entire loaf. Wild Eagle from the train. Firechaser Construction from the train. FIRE IN THE HOLE!!

Vonni
Did Blazing Fury used to be open during the Christmas event back when it was braked by water? I cant speak for Blazing Fury, but the few times I went to the Christmas Celebration at SDC in MO, Fire in The Hole was open.
