Dollywoodlover20
I really, really, really, really, really want to go to Dollywood, why does it have to be in the middle of nowhere? Quoted for truth. The crazy thing is, even though I'm just in the next state over, it's almost exactly the same distance from me as it is from you. From a major airport? Not sure how anyone could make a statement that Dollywood is in the middle of nowhere. It is in the smack dab middle of the one the bigger tourist traps and one of the top 2 (most years it is #1) visited national parks in the country. Exactly, two very crowded towns. Plus it's right next to Knoxville which is 2.5 hours from Nashville. Don't see where that's coming from. The park it's self is in the hills but I'd rather have a park in the hills full of surprises rather than a parking lot park.
TrippinBillie
The park is INSANELY well done. We drove 8 hrs from STL to visit a couple weeks ago. The park is so well done,it literally hides a B&M wing rider. You can barely see if from the parking lot. The park is literally perfect. It's small, compact, packs a HUGE punch and has the best feel I've ever experienced. It also helped we went on a Sunday and Monday where we literally sat on Mystery Mine and got re-rides. And Wild Eagle was running empty trains. But still. Amazing place. Wish it wasn't 8 hours away or I'd go all the time. When RMC can build an insanely huge woodie and you can't see 3/4 of it,the park is winning.

Dollywood is usually so anal on their no double ride policy that they will run empty trains before allowing you to ride again lol without waiting Of course you can always get off and get in line again Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

Guy T. Koepp
The reason why those videos won't play is because they're fake. This ride is currently being carefully dismantled so that they can move it to the parking lot, build a huge pyre, and torched when Dolly gets there on the 6th. It will be Dollywoods answer to burning man. I may actually go for this. Pave Lightning Rod!

It is a dumb policy though. Every time I am there and the coasters are nearly empty they insist we go around and actually encourage us to run, causing people to nearly trample each other going down staircases. It is dangerous and they should just allow re-rides. They even stuck to the policy during private ERT with just about 6 of us on the train. Philrad71
If Quicktime can't play porn and coaster videos properly, then yes...by all means...kick it over the cliff whilst on fire.

michaellynn4
Anyone who still prefers QuickTime as their media player of choice probably still uses Netscape as a browser and maintains a CompuServe email address. Glad to see LIghtning Rod testing! Ill definitely be making a return trip this year once the ride opens!

I've always felt these policies were potentially dangerous compared to allowing rerides either generously (2-3 in a row) or, preferably, without limitation. Even if they state running and/or climbing isn't allowed, I've rarely seen an event where this has been consistently enforced, or even had the staffing to allow for potential enforcement. Plus, as you said, some employees do encourage climbing, ducking, or running (I'm not saying the first two are necessarily dangerous, but different parks/employees have different, even contradictory takes on it).
