PKI Jizzman
Hmm....last time I encountered a nine foot wave was in South Carolina during a tropical storm. Ummm those are huge! I havent seen a theme park wave machine's waves break when they are created though, only when they are reaching the 1ft. deep water. That is sweet thought! And yes, there better be A LOT of lifeguards out there! As well as some life jakets.
The Cheat
Aww, they got rid of 2 tracks....
Wes
Wow that's huge...it'll be a fun one. That's what she said.
FLIPDUDE
^WHATWHATWHAT?! They took down go karts?! For a WAVE MACHINE?! We demand the return of the go karts!!!
dr.gumbo
Does anyone have a map of the park last season, I would like to know which ones they slaughtered Edit: Doesnt matter, found they still have the old map on there interactive map! They got rid of Orius and Titans tower!
metrock
Well, without a doubt I am going to visit this summer. I had been debating if it would be worth it to make the trip whe nI am in St Paul,MN this summer for a week visiting family. Not sure how close I will get to the wave. Maybe watch from a distance. Yeah, I'm a pussy....
pierced_b0i
Geagua(sp) Lakes used to be pretty big from when I remember. There were little handles all over so you wouldn't be dragged the length of the pool. I remember the simulated undertoe was pretty strong also! I used to cringe everytime the beep signaled the wave was about to go.
christianscoasters
I have a question about Mt. Olympus. Do you have to pay to go on the go-karts? As for the new attraction - OMFG!!!
dr.gumbo
Ive just realised how much space the is going to take up BTW Dont you have to be a surfer to go on this or is it open for all?
FLIPDUDE
^This isnt one of those rides, this is a wave pool, meaning oyu can go in there surferless. though I gotta say - im sorry but 9ft wave or not, taking down two go kart tracks jus tisnt worth it in my opinion
thefitness
BTW Dont you have to be a surfer to go on this or is it open for all? That's a pretty good point. With nine foot waves it might turn out to be something like the Ron Jon Surf Park that is coming to Orlando. Either way, those are some serious waves.Time to blow the dust off my board! dr.gumbo
Ive just looked at the site again and titan towers is still on it, that means they only got rid of Orius and that means they only got rid of one go-cart track!
Nightmare500
Those two tracks were combined into one last year. besides, the park still has A LOT of other tracks.
RRollergod
I really do not mind the loss of the go-kart track their towers NEED to be redone anyway. They are extremely rough.
socalMAN123
I havent seen a theme park wave machine's waves break when they are created though, only when they are reaching the 1ft. deep water. Check out Typhoon Lagoon's wave pool. Sure, those aren't 9 foot waves, but those things crash and they crash HARD. Anywho, this looks pretty sweet. I wish the wave pools here in Socal went that high. cprocks22
I have a question about Mt. Olympus. Do you have to pay to go on the go-karts? No go-carts come with admission, and their tracks are a lot better then a lot of parks.
PhishyBrewer
Does anyone here remember, or even old enough to remember The Wave at Geauga Lake? And how many backboard stretchers lined the perimeter of the wave pool. You were guaranteed to see someone get there head smashed in the cement at least every hour. the sound
2.7 meters, eh? Thats pretty big for a Waterparks wave!
XII
I wouldn't be seen in that wavepool alive! I hate huge waves! Still glad its coming to Mt Olympus. It would be good for other people to enjoy.

gtman316
I suspect that if this is just a regular wave pool, that a lot of little kids are gonna drown.
Vffreak07
That's always a plus for advertising! "So big you will drown!"
metrock
Anyone here have a good guess when the wave pool is supposed too open? I know more info is coming soon, just trying to get my airfare... I guess I can just plan on it being late. Though, I would rather be there in early June...
Airtime&Gravity
Mt. Olympus is expanding, and they have bought more proporties. Along with the new wave pool, they will be adding a ride called Apollo's Swing. What type of ride Apollo's Swing is, is currently unknown, but I'd guess a screamin' swing. http://www.screamscape.com/html/mt__olympus.htm
