PhishyBrewer Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 Well my dads a jerk and cancelled the trip...sorry gents Honestly... your not missing much.
Ryan King Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 Nah, I got sick on Friday morning..slept in till 2:00. Felt great..ate some food and chilled. Dad came home and was like, oh, by the way, i cancelled your trip since you missed 1 day of school! -Ryan
benzo41190 Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 skip school....ride coasters! Last year, me and a group of friends skipped school to go to Mt Olympus! That was a really fun day! Especially because we had like walk ons for Hades and the go-carts. They actually had to take some of the carts of because there wasn't enough people. Hmmmm......*planning another Mt Olympus "school" trip*
Double0Kevin Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 too bad ya aren't going. Contrary to popular belief... SFMW is a hell of a lot better than PGA. Sure they have the most intense kids rides in the world, but that's all they have... you can't really call their stuff Thrill Rides. V2, Medusa, Roar, Taz Devil, Hammerhead Shark and VooDoo are way more thrilling than anything PGA has to offer... Hell, the Zonga concrete pad is more exciting than great america's rides. BTW, check ALL Six Flags parks guys... All top spins in the chain are required to run that program. So don't get on MW's case like they are the only one. I just watch SFGAm's run the same program a month ago.
ECZenith Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 I was going to say... I've noticed this too on SF top spins. EVERY SF park I've been to runs a bad program, and two of the SF parks that have top spins I've never seen run them! (Former SFWOA and SFDL) Basically any top spin that's not Strate's shows manually run Huss top spin isn't going to even come close to the short, weak program that SF runs.
Skyscraper Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 Weird... the Top Spin at SFLR is actually going upside down 6 times (5 in a row) and last year or the year before it was 2 times tops...

pvcoasterguy Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 SFGAm's still does the five-ish flips in a row... and has for like two years now. Though, after that, the rest of the program is pretty dull.

JimmyBo Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Yeah, dont worry Ryan you didnt miss much...except for there being no lines at all the entire day, an evil hot russian lady not letting me and kristie on the kiddie ride, a tiger pissing on a girl and much more. Ill post a trip report soon so you can see what you missed. And i found a perfect place to throw you in front of ROAR
speedracer Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 ^ Announcement should come next month, but it looks like Best Western already got the heads up: http://book.bestwestern.com/bestwestern/productInfo.do?propertyCode=05585#null Also, do a search on yahoo for SFDK and notice the first entry that comes up. So no official announcement yet, but this all is pretty solid evidence and confirms the original rumors.
Loco Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 I just got a call from a friend that lives in Vallejo and got the news that V2 is being repainted red! Could they be going for a superman theme? Sorry no pics...could anyone get ahold of them?
coasterdude5 Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 Superman theme? Didn't GL's impulse used to be themed to Superman before the Cedar Fair purchase? At least they're trying something new.
CP_RULES Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 Arent they trying to re-theme that whole park to "Discovery Kingdom?" I dont think Superman would fit in very well with that.... Then again, this is Six Flags. -Justin "First one to call that this thread turns into the Mr. Freeze thread part 2" Seabaugh
Homer Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 EDIT: It looks like this is true, XtremeCoastin' has an update up of V2 getting its repaint: http://www.xtremecoastin.com/gallery/sfmw/updates/12-30-06/
adc9787 Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 Maybe thay will only paint different (like in the picture above) sections and give the ride a snake theme.
ebl Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 I don't see anything wrong with V2 being painted red/maroon. Sometimes change is a good thing. Eric
SharkTums Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 I always thought the Intamin Impulses looked better in the S:UE color scheme than the V2 one!
Loco Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 They already have a coaster with almost the same track color...Kong, and both V2 and Kong are suspended!
mcjaco Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 Superman theme? Didn't GL's impulse used to be themed to Superman before the Cedar Fair purchase? At least they're trying something new. It was/is still painted in the red and blue. They renamed it Steel Venom.....I know, puts fear into your heart!
coasterfreak101 Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 From the looks of it, I think that they'll just paint every other track piece. It looks pretty cool like that IMO. Do they usually skip a full piece like this when they're painting a coaster
socalMAN123 Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 SFMW must have gotten a tip from Mr. Freeze that red looks better than any other coasters . Acutally, I think the impulses do look better in red than anything else. ---Brent
