the sound
Is there any news about what's happened to Mr Freeze? Because V2 isn't really character themed, i don't really think there is a problem. Might look really nice, and really differen't. EDIT: Woah, i never really noticed this before, but v2's layout looks retarded!
PhishyBrewer
I actually drove past the park the other day and saw them painting it. It's red and yellow. Sorta looks like Dragster. EDIT: Oops... just saw the pictures posted. I guess you guys already knew that.
coastercrazy216
I always thought the Intamin Impulses looked better in the S:UE color scheme than the V2 one! Yeah, I never liked the V2 theme or the colors. After they changed it they should have rethemed then and or called it UnVertical Volocity
Spookbaby
I really want to find the person who's idea it was to paint the ride like that and shake their hand for making that ride as absolutely tacky/hideous as it could possibly aspire to be. stormrider
I used to think that V2 was painted yellow because the neighbors complained about being able to "see" it. Then they paint it red They're the ones who complained about it sticking a "noticeable" 30ft higher, then when the park makes it longer, it sticks out even more, in my opinion. And red stands out more than yellow does. So much for their complaining
Thrillrider15
I like the idea. IMO, the color red makes a roller coaster more "vicious" (the best word I can think of). A good plan of action since V2 lost its vertical spike, making the ride itself less of a thrill (at least what I've heard ).
pgathriller
I have a stupid question. How do they paint a roller coaster? Do they just get on a crane and spray a layer a paint over the old one or is there like a special process to the whole thing?
CP_RULES
^http://www.xtremecoastin.com/gallery/sfmw/updates/12-30-06/11.htm A closer look at a worker painting the front tower. They are painting it by hand to ensure an clean and thorough coat.
Reon
I second the motion of painting every other section red. That way it looks like a giant snake, which will fit the theme of the park. (Then again, this IS Six Flags we're talking about...)
coastervekoma
Well I guess my first impulse i ride this may will be red.
Angry_Gumball
I hope they're going to repaint Kong as well...2 red/orange colored coasters in a park....kinda reminds me of Cedar Point: Maggie, TTD, and Draggin' Iron. Maybe SFMW will give it different support colors. EDIT: Look closely at the posted pic, on the middle support, Medusa's side...it's a maroon color. Looks like Medusa can use some new skin as well...Some supports got a bit more sun than others.[/img]
Carnage
Kind of looks pinkish. The different colours works on Dragster as each track section is the same size. So far this just looks weird what with the different length sections. It'd look so much nicer if they just did the whole thing red.
CP_RULES
Look closely at the posted pic, on the middle support, Medusa's side...it's a maroon color. Did you miss this? http://www.xtremecoastin.com/gallery/sfmw/updates/12-30-06/7.htm I also agree that the coaster will look good with a snake theme. Angry_Gumball
It was slightly harder to tell on that picture, so I used the side view where the light was hitting it the most. And yes, I did miss the caption.
AT0527
I just got a call from a friend that lives in Vallejo and got the news that V2 is being repainted red! Could they be going for a superman theme? Sorry no pics...could anyone get ahold of them? Friend? yeah..Thanks... Anyways, I like the colors it was..i think it would have been cool for them to keep the same colors, but just re paint it. And am i alone but does anyone think that Medusa should have gotten repainted before Vertical Velocity?
ECZenith
Wow, that's actually pretty nice looking!
Satoshi
looks like every Six Flags parks are starting to make the coasters go paint into red because it looks like Superman Themed stuff.
Tmcdllr
Why is it assumed that a coaster is going to be Superman themed just because the track is being painted red? And IF the supports are purple/maroon as suggested in the pictures, that doesn't make any sense. Since when is purple/maroon a Superman color? Loco
Update: www.xtremecoastin.com/gallery/sfmw/updates/1-3-07/ Eww...IMO they messed this coaster up...those colors look ugly! Whatever...thats not gonna stop me from riding it.
Carnage
Actually it doesn't look too bad now. I wasn't sure if they were painting all the track or not. Looks better now that they've painted the entire track red.
fergusonat
That is one hideous coaster, if you ask me I don't quite understand the supports with the silver specks all around and random patches of maroon. It almost looks like they were going for a weathered or beaten-up effect but failed horribly and just made the thing look retarded. Oh well, it's Six Flags...be happy they at least painted it haha

DarkStitch626
I like the new colors although it reminds me of the coaster at Lagoon.. It also screams "Bloody twisted rage" for Fright Fest.
coastervekoma
They should with out a dought repaint kong too. For those of you who havent ridden it lately The paint is almost peeling off. And the last time I rode it it the paint was almost completely gone on one piece of track. But V2 on the other hand looks great. Evan though I think I liked it better when it was yellow.
