P. 651: Montezooma's Revenge project terminated?

Recommended Posts

So, I renewed my pass during the flash sale earlier this year, when the park offered a bring-a-friend-free ticket for renewing pass holders. Does anyone remember the deadline to use that ticket? I believe it was 12/15/19, but I can’t find any info on it anywhere.

Edit: I just called the park. It expired yesterday. [emoji58]

Catching up on photos from 2019 and wanted to post a batch from Knott's. Not a full trip report, not even gonna write captions for most of them, just sort of a "here, some stuff I thought looked cool."

Did a quick visit the morning of September 22 with John (coasterlvr) (thanks John!!!). Main point was to get the GhostRider credit I missed last year (wasn't operating for WCB) but also did a lap of the other good rides in about 2 and a half hours.

Just did one ride on GhostRider in the back row. It was fun. I thought it was funny to be on GCI trains on straight airtime hills, since GCIs are usually pretty twisted.

So, this one deserves a caption. There was a mantis hanging out at the Xcel control booth, and the ride ops would even pick it up, put it on their shoulder, or just let it sit on the button. I guess they're all good friends.

I don't care how expensive this place is, or how long the line is, because it's worth it. Well, slightly more worth it when you sneak into the dwindling line 5 minutes after the place closed.

OK, that's it for real now.

I have a question regarding Platinum Passes: is your home park (where you get benefits like BAFF) considered the park where you purchased your pass online or the park where you process it? I will be purchasing a PP from WoF's website since it is my home park and where I'd like to receive benefits, but will be visiting Knott's in the next couple weeks and processing my pass there (this has to be done as such since WoF is already closed). Will this change my home park to Knott's?

The Knott's Boysenberry Festival is back for 2020 to celebrate the park's historic roots with their annual food-inspired event that highlights the little berry that started it all! Running from March 20 through April 19, the festival will feature more than 75 new and returning boysenberry-inspirited creations. In addition to the food and drink items, the festival will also feature a variety of entertainment and activities for all to enjoy.

The Tasting Card will work a bit more guest-friendly this year with the ability to choose 8 of the 26 following options:

1. Boysenberry Mimosa (New)

2. Boysenberry Basil Lemonade (New)

3. Boysenberry Beer Cheese Soup topped with a Boysenberry Drizzle and Brown Butter Croutons (New)

4. Brussel Sprouts topped with a Boysenberry Balsamic Dressing and Bacon (New)

5. Beef Tips with Boysenberry Mashed Potatoes (New)

6. Boysenberry Chicken Mole on Cilantro Rice (New)

7. Boysenberry Sangria

8. Boysenberry Cajun Shrimp over Grits (New)

9. Boysenberry BBQ Chick Drumsticks (New)

10. Boysenberry Steak Chili with a Boysenberry Cornbread Muffin (New)

11. Samosas with Boysenberry Chutney

12. Bork Bao Bum Dumpling with Boysenberry Kimchi and Nam Pla (New)

13. Boysenberry Shrimp Ceviche with Tortilla Chips (New)

14. Boysenberry Smoothie (New)

15. Homemade Chips with Boysenberry Onion Dip

16. Boysenberry sausage on a Bun

17. Elote with Boysenberry Mayo, Cotija Cheese, and Boysenberry Tortilla Crumbles

18. Mac and Cheese Bites with Boysenberry Ketchup (new)

19. Glazed Donut Holes with Boysenberry Ice Cream and topped with a Boysenberry Coulis (New)

20. Boysenberry Bread Pudding topped with Boysenberry Coulis and Crème Anglaise Sauce (New)

21. Pastrami Sandwich on a Pretzel Bun topped with Boysenberry Mustard (New)

22. Boysenberry Macron (New)

23. Churro rolled in Boysenberry Sugar (New)

24. Boysenberry Cookiewich (New)

25. Boysenberry Beer

26. Boysenberry Wine

With such a variety of options, I anticipate a much more successful spreading out of guests around the festival instead of the pre-fixe menu which had longer lines. The Tasting Card is $40 ($38 if you have a 2020 Season Pass). Make sure the items you select have an individual price of higher than $5, or a value of what you perceive to be higher than $5 so you get your moneys worth.

Although we took our own food photos at the Boysenberry Festival media preview this past week, the provided images look much better than our night photos. We will feature the provided photos of the food items so you can get a better sense of the high-quality food items. Let's eat!

Gaawwwwwwd I really REALLY want to go to this event in the not-too-distant....

All of the food and beverages being offered, look awesome, as is usual with this Knott's foodie event!

Thanks (and my gut says 'no thanks') for posting all you got about it.

Looks delicious. I'm bummed I miss the festival every year because it always occurs after my spring break. Once I graduate college next spring and get an actual job, you bet I'm making time to come down to California and try all this deliciousness (the festival has improved drastically since I was in high school!). This and Merry Farm are my two favorite times of the year at Knott's!

^ Seconded. It all looks really good!

And I still want one of those Boysenberry Hats (caps?) they might (still) be selling, this time round!

Knott's should sell all of their Boysenberry Festival baked goods online for now since everything is shut down.

That is a brilliant way to keep some team members working and bring in some cash. Put the stuff up for delivery!

^ Couldn't they work this through their Marketplace Bakery? For pickups? I know they shut all of it down, but maybe they could reopen this part of it for pickups. And then there's food banks that always could use the donations.

That's the first I've heard of any park giving compensation for the park being closed. I imagine most parks will give perks of some sort for us not being able to use our already-purchased season passes for half the season, but it's a little easier for Knott's with their being year-round to just extend it. Good on them!

Disneyland is adding the amount of days closed to annual passes too. but i'm not sure how it will all work out with the different passes and blackout dates. with knott's, personally i won't gain anything since they are on the calendar year passes. only if i didn't renew. but with a 200 dollar platinum pass, i don't really care.
