They've had to remove plenty of rides from parks due to budget cuts, and also there's the whole Colossos rehab that's taking up a lot of money. Also, I'm glad that he brought this up finally: at Gardaland they managed to lose 800,000 guests and to cancel the roller coaster of 2019 Some context regarding this statement: In the Italian forums, there was an inside source that hinted that there was going to be a conversion of Ramses: Il Risveglio into a roller coaster similar to Verbolten, which they eventually confirmed to be cancelled, again because of budget cuts. Re-reading the forums, I am questioning the validity of the source, but to be fair, I am just an outsider looking in, relatively speaking, so there's probably a lot of people-related stuff I am missing. Whatever that means. Either way, I think livai's frustration is kind of justified. I think Peppa Pig Land looks painfully bad, (I mean just look at this!) and, let's face it, Shaman VR was a disaster (I talked about this in great length some pages back). At the same time, here's hoping that Merlin get out of this bad situation they're in, and that at least Wicker Man could be a fresh start for them. Maybe I am being too optimistic...? mr.sugar Posted March 28, 2018 Share Posted March 28, 2018 Honestly, haven´t seen the result of Peppe land at Heide Park, so cannot judge. And I´m not the target group, so don´t care that much. I also wouldn´t be too harsh regarding ride removals. Most of the rides removed made sense. I don´t feel sorry for anything they removed (except the Slammer at Thorpe - I loved it, but I also understand why it is removed). The rides removed were usually sub-par rides and probably quite hard to maintain, so why keep them? Colossos is different story though, but in the end, I like they decided to make sacrifices to save it. I also like the WickerMan at Alton so far. Should one judge a land from an image taken from a distance outside the park during foggy weather and partially obscured by tree branches? RCT3Bross Posted December 12, 2018 Share Posted December 12, 2018 I kind of like that it reopens next year. I never took the chance to ride it back in 2007 when I was the last time at the park. I love odd rides and I was sad to see it close in 2017. After all I heard about the comfort of the ride I never expected to get the chance myself so it's a shock to be sure. RCT3Bross Posted June 8, 2021 Share Posted June 8, 2021 Heard this rumor yesterday, If it is a coaster I'm kind of wondering how they're going to make it work if I'm correct the building isn't extremely high, however looking how Movie Park Germany manged to squeeze two coasters now inside buildings that used to house darkrides (Van Helsing and Movie Park Studios) I have no doubt it can work. That promise of a unique world class ride peaks my interest a lot. I'm sort of sad to see Rames go though, I can remember it as a kind of good darkride that got turned into a lesser shooter, however we see to many darkrides getting taken down to be replaced by coasters or something else, I'm afraid to see what the future holds for darkrides. On coaster track, but stopped in spots (screens <here>), reversed, turntabled, spiraled, etc. etc. Just a guess here. (And don't forget that Mummy Ride there, too. It's a track based ride with cars very similar to the concept art shown. It just uses a bunch of curved screens and a car like vehicle going screen to screen on a flat track. I don't think it's in any way shape or form a coaster anymore, because if it was I'm sure they rather promote that then a darkride, coasters seem like a higher selling point towards the general public.
