mightbeawannabe Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 Okay Robb, I guess I'll call you the "Coaster Grand Poo-Bah!" Second. Love the G&S reference!
paiging_jen Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 I'll be there on opening day! Same! Looking forward to my first ride minus trims.
bpmitchell Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 For those that have a phobia of understanding the photo is true here is a link to some video I shot of it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1drogNrJnJI Now hush up Enthusiasts the ride was still amazing with the trims but now with it being without the trim I will await the outcome.
deguy123 Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 Well look's like I'll hopefully be heading back there this year to get the ride without the trims, hopefully I'll change my opinion of the coaster!
Skycoastin Steve Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 I guess the only major question remaining is whether or not the trims return to the 3rd hill. I suppose that decision will come after testing.
coasternut Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 I guess the only major question remaining is whether or not the trims return to the 3rd hill. I suppose that decision will come after testing. I found with the trims in place that the 3rd hill yielded the best airtime. Now that the trims are off, please don't add anymore.
BeemerBoy Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 This thread is just as much of a disaster as when the trims were put on! I blame Intamin.
SharkTums Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 This thread is just as much of a disaster as when the trims were put on! I blame Intamin. I blame the proximity of the SFA Thread and that park!
A.J. Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 I blame the lack of "discussion" in the Texas Giant thread.
redfoot12 Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 This thread is just as much of a disaster as when the trims were put on! I blame Intamin. I blame the proximity of the SFA Thread and that park! More disturbing--Midwest nutcases or SFA weirdos... Discuss!!!
Skycoastin Steve Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 ^The CGA crazies talking about getting a Maverick clone have been challenging the SFA and midwest crazies lately.
DJeXeL Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 ^I'll admit, that one is funny. Reminds me of Stewie from Family Guy. "Whatever helps you sleep at night b*tch"
KDCOASTERFAN Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 ^ Rebel Yell is great in spring but after hitting the summer almost unrideable... Grizzly, in my opinion, isw the most underated coaster in the park. Front seat is an epic, airtime filled ride! Hurler could do a MS and burn for all I care... Speaking of Grizz I was watching the Nova rollercoaster episode on youtube & noticed the ride had a black train in the video....now in all my years of riding this coaster the trains have always been yellow & orange.
eddie200330 Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 For some reason in the Paramount years I believe they turned them purple and black......
braztaz Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 We're 20 points behind Carowinds' Intimidator....so close! http://themeparks.about.com/b/2011/02/11/readers-choice-awards-roller-coaster.htm
beatle11 Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 ^I was just looking at that. I can't believe how close the poll is. I305 is ahead by 40 at this point.
Toro#1 Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 just took it, I-305 down a bunch. I went on both of these within a week of each other, both are sensational but I-305 just has much more power then Intimidator does, Diamondback is much better then Intimidator in my opinion too. Go I-305!
greenspandan Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 how does the Carowinds coaster seem to get hundreds of votes at once seemingly on demand? they're up by almost 200 votes all of a sudden.
SharkTums Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 I don't know how anyone who's been on both could prefer the B&M Forceless version. My guess is it's just all the fat Intamin Haters voting for the other to try and spite the good ride that they're too miserable to fit in!
DJeXeL Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 ^^Agreed. After riding Nitro, Intimidator was a severe disappointment. I:305 is a far superior ride even with the trims.
alpengeist04 Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 ^^Agreed. After riding Nitro, Intimidator was a severe disappointment. I:305 is a far superior ride even with the trims. ...And that's saying a lot, because i wouldn't even put Nitro in the top 3 of B&M hypers or top 20 overall in steel coasters. At least I finally get to ride both in a 48 hour span come June.
Ace Of Spades Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 ^^^^I was also curious about that. I see I305 as a far more dramatic and evolutionary ride that deserves to at least be called the best new coaster, if not the best new ride overall for 2011 (suffice to say, I haven't had the chance to ride either, but just based on the impact each has had, I formed this opinion). How B&M Intimidator could be considered better in that regard is beyond me, save spite against KD for whatever reasons people have. But then, there might be an underground campaign going on here similar to the Le Monstre one on Facebook from two years ago, who's to say? Or maybe it really is that good and everyone who voted for I305 just happened to get a "bad" ride on the other one.
