bigjohnson51 Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Wow... I seriously thought he was already dead
onewheeled999 Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 ^ Same here. But seriously, this is kinda depressing.
TheRapidsNerd Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Sad the he won't see the coaster that's named after him. Hope he rests in peace.
exit english Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 In other news, his son, Robbie Knievel, is still sporting one hell of a haircut. this is the biggest side-profile shot I could find of the mullet of dare.
bigjohnson51 Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 ^ Ah he's rocking the Camaro Crash Helmet!
odie Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 My uncle actually knew him pretty well but I never got to meet him myself. He did some amazing stuff in his life that were even scary for me to watch! But it sounds like he had a lot of fun doing those things too.
coastercrazed49 Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 I am just really surprised that he didn't die of a motorcycle accident!
jackskellington101 Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 It's sad to see an icon like Evel Knievel go. That being said, and I know it's an awful thought, I just picture his hearse attempting to jump Snake River Canyon through a ring of fire.
Disney Dood Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 ^ Dude, that would be great! Sad to see him go, that guy had guts. Is it true he broke every bone in his body, many bones several times? Because I know he holds the world record for the most broken bones.
Tanks4me05 Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 I guess I'm too young to know who Evil Knievel was. Anyway, wouldn't it be ironic if Evil Knievel @ SFSTL is demolished in the year 2077?
America Sings Freak Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 People like Evil Knievel are what makes America unique and diverse. I will miss him and the spectacular of his stunts.
Adrenaline_Rush Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 I seriously always thought Knievel died when he tried to jump Snake River Canyon (thats the Grand Canyon right?)
arrowfanman Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 ^ Nope. The Grand Canyon is the Colorado River, and the government wouldn't let him do it there. The Snake River Canyon is in Idaho. And he survived the (failed) jump with only minor injuries. Wikipedia is amazing. -Jahan
Erik Johnson Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 ^^ So is Youtube. http://youtube.com/watch?v=Wsq3dWTrRWA
ginzo Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 Evel led an amazing life. It's oddly refreshing in this safety-obsessed age of being afraid of everything to see a man who made a career out of laughing at death. Great work!
Purplepills Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 He entertained thousands of people over the years, and obviously lived doing something he really enjoyed. I do think for someone who's been beaten up that much over the years he did pretty well to live to 70. RIP
FeelTheFORCE Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 TMZ has learned that 2006 Academy Award nominee Heath Ledger has died in NY. He was found dead in his bed in one of his residences in Soho by his housekeeper at 3:35 PM ET today. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ they believe it was not a crime. The 28-year-old actor has a two year old daughter with former fiancee Michelle Williams -- they separated in September, 2007. He plays the Joker in the upcoming Batman film, "The Dark Knight." MSNBC is reporting that the actor was found, surrounded by pills. The NY Times is reporting a masseuse arrived at his apartment and was let in the door by a housekeeper, who then knocked on the door of Mr. Ledger's bedroom. When no one answered, the housekeeper and the masseuse opened the bedroom and found Mr. Ledger unconscious. They shook him, but he did not respond. They immediately called the authorities. The police said they found pills near body. We're told when paramedics responded the actor was in full cardiac arrest. They attempted to perform CPR on him, but were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Link to article. I wonder if this will affect the movie, which will then affect the various "Dark Knight" coasters around the country that Six Flags is building.
coasterdude5 Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 I couldn't believe this when I read it... My prayers go out to his family.
downunder Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 This is very sad, we are all shocked downunder.
kraken613 Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 I didnt believe this when reading the title! This is too bad. I hope his family is doing ok. mod edit: Please make sure to use the spell check feature before posting. -Joey
Manny In England Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 I wonder what happened, he was so young. Yeah I'm feeling the shock here.
Homer Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 The Chris Farley of the new millennium, he's a good actor that's gone too ahead of his time. He seemed to do an awesome job as Joker and hopefully this does not screw up The Dark Knight or any possible sequels.
LOVE SFKK Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Who cares about the part in a stupid batman re-make, someone died!
