My uncle actually knew him pretty well but I never got to meet him myself. He did some amazing stuff in his life that were even scary for me to watch! But it sounds like he had a lot of fun doing those things too.

^ Dude, that would be great!

Sad to see him go, that guy had guts. Is it true he broke every bone in his body, many bones several times? Because I know he holds the world record for the most broken bones.

I guess I'm too young to know who Evil Knievel was. Anyway, wouldn't it be ironic if Evil Knievel @ SFSTL is demolished in the year 2077?

^ Nope. The Grand Canyon is the Colorado River, and the government wouldn't let him do it there. The Snake River Canyon is in Idaho. And he survived the (failed) jump with only minor injuries.

Wikipedia is amazing.

Evel led an amazing life. It's oddly refreshing in this safety-obsessed age of being afraid of everything to see a man who made a career out of laughing at death. Great work!

He entertained thousands of people over the years, and obviously lived doing something he really enjoyed. I do think for someone who's been beaten up that much over the years he did pretty well to live to 70.

TMZ has learned that 2006 Academy Award nominee Heath Ledger has died in NY.

He was found dead in his bed in one of his residences in Soho by his housekeeper at 3:35 PM ET today. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ they believe it was not a crime.

The 28-year-old actor has a two year old daughter with former fiancee Michelle Williams -- they separated in September, 2007. He plays the Joker in the upcoming Batman film, "The Dark Knight."

MSNBC is reporting that the actor was found, surrounded by pills.

The NY Times is reporting a masseuse arrived at his apartment and was let in the door by a housekeeper, who then knocked on the door of Mr. Ledger's bedroom. When no one answered, the housekeeper and the masseuse opened the bedroom and found Mr. Ledger unconscious. They shook him, but he did not respond. They immediately called the authorities. The police said they found pills near body.

We're told when paramedics responded the actor was in full cardiac arrest. They attempted to perform CPR on him, but were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

I wonder if this will affect the movie, which will then affect the various "Dark Knight" coasters around the country that Six Flags is building.

The Chris Farley of the new millennium, he's a good actor that's gone too ahead of his time.

He seemed to do an awesome job as Joker and hopefully this does not screw up The Dark Knight or any possible sequels.
