  1. Looks like Krypton Coaster is pretty sweet, but to be honest, I've ridden a lot of floorless coasters and they're not my favorite style. I think I might like Kraken the most out of them, but I'm not sure.
  2. I'm all about Blu-Ray. I pretty much only try and buy things on BRD, anymore.
  3. Why not call it Santeria? It's in keeping with the Mardi-Gras theme they have now, since it's basically just a combination of Voodoo and Catholicism. Of course, there's all of the death curses and dolls, and candles and oh wait a second... Those who practice Voodoo already do that stuff as well.
  4. My parents gave my wife and I a Wii fit this year. I'm really happy cause it pretty much rules.
  5. Since Wes linked to this thread, I'll go ahead and resurrect it. This is the start of a 1/2 sleeve that was supposed to be finished already, but my artist keeps re-scheduling: Then I have the original EPCOT Center logo on one calf, and snoopy hugging woodstock on the other. For now.
  6. Wow. These are so awesome. Keep 'em coming.. pleeeease.
  7. Q1) Are you Male/Female? Male Q2) How old are you? 27 Q3) When you go to a theme park, do you prefer riding wooden roller coasters, or steel roller coasters? Depends on the ride. Either way I like aggressive rides. Q4) Of all the different roller coaster trains, which do you prefer and why? Seated, standing, inversion etc… Sit down, no restraint preference Q5) What’s your most favourite ride? Probably Maverick @ Cedar Point Q6) When your on a roller coaster what do you think is the most THRILLING part of the ride? (Gives you the biggest buzz/rush?) Abrupt changes of direction, aggressive-ness Q7) What do you think is the most SCARY part of the ride? (Makes you think twice about it?) Not a whole lot, really. I used to be afraid of heights, but that sort of went away Q8) Do you think roller coasters are LESS scary and thrilling after you’ve ridden them once before? Yes, some of them can become kind of boring after an extended time. Q9) Do you like the idea of an extreme roller coaster? (Think roller coasters crossed with extreme sports) What do you have in mind here? It seems kind of difficult to really combine those things in any way that is hasn't already been done Q10) Theming… Is the theme important in the overall ride anticipation and ride satisfaction? Depends on the ride. If there's supposed to be a theme, it needs to work well - but I'm really not picky. Q11) Queuing… Do you like to see the ride whilst in the queue? Or do you prefer the sense of not knowing what is going to happen? I prefer not to look at/hear the same thing for an extended period of time. Q12) Because of the direct proportionality between rides and queue length, do you prefer short ride/short queue, or long ride/long queue? Short/Short Q13) Is there anything you would like to see improved/changed with roller coasters? Nah, I'm not one to complain.
  8. Why would you go and ruin their conversation like that? I guess i just don't get it - if I was talking about something anywhere, and some know-it-all busted in to the conversation uninvited to correct me, I'd tell them to go f themselves.
  9. Yes, you are - The S&S coasters, perhaps? Oh, and the mag brakes are passive, they only help slow the train down, there's no pulling the train over with those things..
  10. Clipper's Loose Cannon is probably #1 on my favorite beers right now, followed by Magic Hat no 9 and Imperial Dortmunder. However, I discovered this the other night: http://www.breckbrew.com/beer/smallbatch.html Breckenridge 471 Douple-Hopped pale ale. It made me fall over it was so great. What I'm waiting for though, is my local "69 Taps" is getting in Dogfish Head 120 Min IPA on draft next month! -Josh
  11. It can ALWAYS be worse... http://www.rcdb.com/ig460.htm?picture=17
  12. Did anyone else notice the woman in the original video they described as a "frequent patron" at that particular BK, was... well... she certainly fit the description. Or am I just an a-hole?
  13. Just a few Some berries that used to be outside my office window. Lioness at the Cleveland Zoo The Mic for the Ghost Labs brochures Some random kid while I was working a photo shoot for Dillard's Kennywood Thunderbolt This bird was a jerk Across the river at WDW
  14. This one always gets me, especially when I hear "enthusiasts" bring it up. Honestly, if you're into a ride *that* much, something is wrong with you.
  15. Not you specifically, just a comment on the general consensus.
  16. ^ Oh, but that can't be because the GP is just soooo stupid.
  17. Well, yeah - that one's blatantly obvious, but then again, it looks like a big log flume, and lots of log flumes don't get you very wet. I'm all for making fun of people for their stupidity when it's warranted, but there are just some that I don't consider to be worthy of getting annoyed about.
  18. I guess there's something wrong with me, in that I don't see most of these as being "dumb" comments, so much as human nature. Just because someone doesn't know everything there is to know about parks and roller coasters, doesn't make them inferior beings. Granted, some of the stuff that people in general do can be pretty funny, but I don't think it's "fair" to get annoyed with someone for their lack of a hobby. Candidly, when visiting an amusement park - even if you're a giant fan of coasters, you are still 100% a part of the general public, especially in the park's eyes. Now, if it's an ERT event - that's a different story altogether - see reference: Holiwood Nights. -Josh
  19. No. If that was the case, they'd ask you to remove your wallet (and probably anything on you that is metal) before getting on. It's kind of funny to think about, though. Josh
  20. Well, I didn't meet you - but I sure SAW you a lot at Kennywood last Monday. In fact, we were pretty much right beside you guys in quite a few lines. I remember seeing the shirts, and the hat. Talk about a HOT day, but after 5 PM, you couldn't have asked for better. 2 train waits for Jackrabbit, 1 train for Thunderbolt, and walk-ons on most of the flats. I grabbed a decent amount of pics with my new camera that day. Here's a couple of them for show. -Josh
  21. The Intamin drop towers already are stopped by magnets. In fact, they are pretty much the pioneers of such technology. As for a cable guard, it seems as if it would be rather difficult, as it would be right in the ride's path. However, if they were to somehow retrofit, or develop new, a system of holding the car from behind, that would effectively move the cables so they would be flush with the tower, allowing for some type of guarding similar to the hydraulic launch coasters to be placed and the vehicle would clear it. Am I making sense with that? Josh
  22. ^ That's far from being dumb. In fact, it sounds pretty much the way the ride was intended to make people feel. Aside from maybe the racing part. Josh
