spong8 Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Sorry about attacking your post I miss understood your post. That was my bad.
cpfan101 Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 thats like seaworld times 2. Wow how dead on is that quote?! Their prices are double, their waits are double, their dispatch times are double. etc. From my experiance working at Sea World, believe it or not, the majority of San Antonians (my word I made up) actually have passes to both parks. People that only do one are in the severe minority. I think the ride is a good addition, however, I think a lot of people will notice as I get told that the "Great White" is the same as BTR in Arlington a lot. --David
John Peck Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 Six Flags Houston has some picts of Goliath being erected (snicker). I'll start you guys on page 3 of the forums there. (Hope Im allowed to post this link) http://www.sixflagshouston.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2327&start=30
Six Flags Addict Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 Thanks for the link. Good to see construction coming along. Suddenly, I am really looking forward to riding my homes park's B:TR.....Only 63 more days.
coastercrazed49 Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 Looks good, but Im not sure if I like the colors. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.
PURE Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 Maybe its just me but I've always thought the S&S drop towers without some sort of "crown" on top of them (like Supreme Scream at Knotts) look really odd and out of place.
Hang And Bang Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 I like the colors. That blue is awfully pretty, and the yellow sets it off nicely. At least it's not another orange and teal Goliath. I'm glad this ride is coming back up. It's had some tough times and it's good to see it survive. Fiesta Texas will be a good home for it. The mirrors are rare. I'm glad we have one at my homepark (SFSTL) just because they offer something at least a little different from the others. With that said, I tend to enjoy the ones that drop to the left a little more.
Scaparri Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 Thanks for the link! It's good to see they are finally getting major work done on this! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it'll be open by March 23rd, when I'll be there.
kraken613 Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 Well when I move ill be in the only state that has 3 B:TR clones!
John Peck Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Only about 7 more pieces of track to put up. I'll bet they can make an opening in mid-April if needed 2/10 Update on Page 6: http://www.sixflagshouston.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2327&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=75&sid=19c264f08b3c76dbec77574ea76ad6ab
PURE Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Its so odd to see a Batman layout with non-Batman colors featuring the Goliath name with non-Goliath colors (The Orange and Green). Hope the ride maintains well through the move!
robbalvey Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 While I don't think it matters that much, it's kind of funny they are painting the tracks a very similar bright BLUE as the Batman clone 15 miles away: SFFT: Sea World:
verticalzero Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 A pointless name for the coaster, 6 Flags just wanted a quick name. The "Goliath" name should only be used for coasters over 5,000ft long, then it shows the real meaning of the name.
almightyfire Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 I didn't see anything wrong with the Batman theme.
Billy Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 awwe man, blue rails! bummer... im a fan of silver rails, that would have been a nice touch to the colors. Anyone else lik em' colored or prefer silver?
BuddyChrist Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 ^^The only bad thing about a Batman theme is paying for the licensing fees from WB and DC.
TopThrill182 Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 Not a fan of the color choice... or the name... but looks like it will be a nice addition to the park.
CP_RULES Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 Can't say I like the name AT ALL (still) but I definitely like the colors.
CHILLERLC1 Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 How about resurrecting the Shockwave name? They have to still have SFGAM shirts somewhere.
texcoaster Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 They could've called it: Batman: the Mirror-Image Great White 2 Copy-Cat KUJo (Keeping Up with the JOneses) ...But This One Turns Right or go way outside the box and do a Star Wars theme and call it Clone Wars
astroworldfan1 Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 Hey what about Flight Deck? That's an oringinal nice name. Not really stupid at all? Carowinds changed their's from Flight Deck to Afterburn because they don't deserve a good name like that! Im just joking about that! -Tatum
Broadwayboy2007 Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 or go way outside the box and do a Star Wars theme and call it Clone Wars Hey maybe that isn't so bad since it they seem to be trying to pull a "Jedi Mind Trick" with a new paint job and such *waves hand* This is not the coaster you saw at SFNO ...bad joke I know
Immelman Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 This will probably sound dumb, but someone please tell me that all the supports will eventually be yellow. The grey mixed with the yellow looks too crappy to true.
CoasterGuy06 Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 They will finish painting them after they are done building it. They will be yellow
