P. 177: 2025 park enhancements announced!

So wof, valley fair and Michigans adventure haven't got a rollercoaster since 07 or 08. So what park do you think will get a coaster first?

Probably Michigan's Adventure. I've heard that MiA's general manager said the park will be getting a major capital investment soon, and they could definitely use a new coaster since their last one was a relocated SLC seven years ago.

MIA will receive Excalibur from Valleyfair

I think a large wing rider would be great for the park. They could out it where it somewhat interacts with the Scandinavian section of the park. Still though, anything that is a good coaster is acceptable. All my friends are asking me if worlds of fun will be getting a new coaster and how they are getting bored with the park. It's time and I think they could get a huge boost in how many people come to the park when they get a big ride.

^While I think that the park could do very well with a wing coaster, it needs a launch coaster more to round up its lineup. However a launched wing coaster...

^ Even though a launch winged coaster would be a perfect fit for the park, it costs way to much and would be way over the budget that WoF has. I believe Thunderbird was around 22 million to build so with that kind of money I would see maybe a park like Kings Island to get that type of coaster. Also Cedar Fair is still not with Intamin so the new coaster would have to be a relocation from another Cedar Fair park or a cheaper type of B&M launch.

Yes, a launched wing coaster would be a nice addition to Worlds of Fun, but unfortunately, Cedar Fair doesn't invest that kind of money in parks like Worlds of Fun, although I'm not sure if that $22 million includes Thunderbird's theming. I personally think a Premier Sky Loop (Tempesto clone) would be perfect for Worlds of Fun, but it isn't likely to happen because Cedar Fair hasn't built any rides from Premier Rides (all the Premier coasters in the chain were acquired in the Paramount buyout).

^The price tag includes all theming, ground prep, design, engineering, manufacturing, and installation. In other words, that's the final cost for everything.

I'll probably be in the park at the end of July.

I usually don't eat in the parks since it's so expensive. However, is there any decently healthy food I could tide myself over with if need be. By healthy I mean grilled turkey/chicken sandwich or maybe some fresh fruit. I see a couple places offering grilled chicken sandwiches and a couple of Subways. Any place better than others? Are the Subway prices ridiculous? Any other places with air conditioning besides Coasters? I'm going to skip the crab fries this time, they're great going down but you have to live with that taste the rest of the day .

TIA,

If I dare hope against hope, I would say Michigan's Adventure. They could certainly use one! I suspect Valleyfair may be the next one, however.

Seeing that all cedar fair parks will be getting dark rides, which do you think would come first? Coaster or dark ride?

Probably a coaster. I think the dark rides will be going to all of the bigger parks (CP, KD, KI, Carowinds) first before coming to the smaller parks. I could see them getting a coaster in 2017 or 2018, depending on what other parks get coasters that year.

Well let's think this through.

2016 coasters

-Cedar Point

-Canada's Wonderland

2017 coasters

-Kings Dominion (?)

-Valleyfair (?)

I fully believe that CP and CanWon will take 2017 off with roller coasters coming in 2017.

Dark Rides (IMHO)

2017

-Worlds of Fun

-Kings Island

2018

-Carowinds

-Cedar Point

2019

-Kings Dominion

-Valleyfair

2020

-Great America

Basically taking all of the coaster rumors that have been posted, adding in the fact that CF likes to ride the wave one year after said coaster addition. Then the idea that has been thrown around that they won't add more than 2 dark rides a year.

Not exactly rocket science and I did explain that up in the original post
