Fidelity
^^^ Thank you for the responses. The park was pretty dead on Sunday. We were there at the opening, so my daughter was able to get 5 rides on Spinning Dragons without much wait (she is 47 3/4" tall). Luckily, she was a fan of the Bamboozler and a couple of the other flats. Even though it was only one train, I never had more than a two car wait for Prowler. I was able to ride it four times and would have taken more if I didn't have family obligations. I counted fourteen or fifteen pops of airtime. I like Renegade at my home park, but it cannot hold a candle to your GCI. Patriot was good. I was able to get three early rides without a wait. Unfortunately, my daughter was leery about going in the front seat the first time and the line got a little long for it after our first ride. Otherwise, it was a solid ride. I took two rides on Mamba, which I liked, but the second 184' hill seemed to take a lot of the steam out of the ride. I was able to ride without leaving the train. Timber Wolf was still closed and didn't seem to have any activity/testing on the day I was there.
Kaden4552
What kind of ride do you think WOF will get?
Donkey123
I am not expecting anything big from WoF in 2016, I think a Larson flying scooters would be a great fit for the park, or they can go a little bigger with something like Route 76 that Valleyfair got last year. It cost a lot of money to retrack a coaster like Timberwolf, so I think they'll be doing a good amount a track work next year, since those flats won't cost that much. In 2017 I think a very cool Triotech Darkride will come to the park since Cedar Fair won't add any to there parks 2016.
Jaykethekid
I can confirm that the trim brake is back on Timberwolf but it's right before the drop off the first turn. Hey atkeast the first hill will still have insane airtime and the rest will be mild floater again...
Shavethewhales
Am I the only one expecting something big in 2016? I have a feeling I'm repeating the same old discussion here, but additions have been pretty lax since 2009 (adding windseeker last year can't count for much expenditure-wise since it was recycled from Knott's). They have plenty of busy days, and I know Halloween is absolutely packed out every weekend. I think they've been saving up for something - but in any case they are certainly "due" for another big ticket ride. Not saying it'll be a coaster, but I expect something on the level of a screamin swing or disko coaster.
HartmannHunter22
I went to WOF earlier this year in late may. Lets just say thay could use a new coaster. Honestly, I dont know if I would want to go back otherwise. With mamba being the huge coaster of the park, it was kinda dissapointing that after 3-4 rides on it I felt like I never needed to ride it again. Will say though that Patriot is amazing. Other than that the park was ok, so much potential too.
Intimidator305
Not saying it'll be a coaster, but I expect something on the level of a screamin swing or disko coaster. With Cedar Point being the company's 'big coaster' next season, the potential of something big at Canada's Wonderland, the potential floorless conversion at CGA, and a significant sized water park expansion at Carowinds I'd expect something smaller similar to what you described. I don't know how safe CF would feel investing in Screamin' Swings after the SkyHawk incident at Cedar Point, but I could see them purchasing a Disk'o coaster/other thrill flat package for WOF and Kings Dominion next season. Kaden4552
I think WOF will get a flat ride next year, a dark ride in 2017, then a new rollercoaster in 2018, hopefully
Superbatboy
Interesting how Cedar Point gets two huge B&Ms within 3 years, while other parks have gone like 6-7 years without a coaster addition. I think that's where Six Flags is better than Cedar Fair, they tend to spread capital more evenly among their parks.
Jaykethekid
Still looks like I'm the only one who thinks there will be a coaster in the next two years

I'd take a somewhat boring Cedar Fair park over a run down looking Six Flags park. Trust me... if you have a corporate park in your area, you don't want it to be Six Flags. The hair gel advertisements and other XXXTREEEMMEEE advertisements paired with blaring Katy Perry music in a run down candy/Dorito shop just screams "Come enjoy our teenage paradise while you get piss poor service from our 'I'm too apathetic to care about anything' staff." Six Flags really knows how to turn a great collection of rides into a bad experience.

At WOF there's more theming, it's not as rundown, nicer employees and SFSL may have more coasters but WOFs are better
Donkey123
A disko "coaster" would be a very nice fit to the park for next year (like I said about the Valleyfair addition last year), but like people said the other parks are getting the attention next year so I wouldn't be suprised if just a flying scooters comes, like Dorney Park got this year (these two parks seem to get the same attractions around the same time period). Adding to this: Six Flags still (has) and sometimes spends a lot more on their major parks vs. their smaller ones anually (obvious as to why). But it comes to a point where they blow off those small parks, like the Larson Super Loop marketed as coasters, or relocating a 25 year old operating boomerang to another park. Cedar Fair atleast doesnt spend major capitial year after year on those same parks (for example KD: last coaster was in 2010). I think WoF is going to get their time soon. Also a few small Cedar Fair parks have hypers, which IMO is a lot for a small park to say. But realistically the bigger parks are going to see more expensive investments and more often. ACES
Just wondering. Worlds of Fun doesn't have a launch yet would a Steel Venom be on there list for there next coaster? And with Six Flags St Louis they don't have a hyper coaster yet do they have room for one is Worlds of Fun bigger for land space than Six Flags St Louis? RollerManic
Oh, I have no clue, but SFStL is more marketable (inside a better region, and actually seeing dome tough competition in the Midwest lately) and owns sooo many acres East of the park. I dont feel like drawing a map, but lets just say employees are allowed to hunt there over the offseason... Yeah.

Definitely room for a hyper at SFSTL
Kaden4552
WOF was better before CF took over, they ruined the park, sure they saved the park from closing, all they've done is take out good rides and add decent ones. Only good rides are mamba and prowler

I'd love a Steel Venom clone at WOF, or a Tempesto clone. I think both would fit well at the park.
The Yeti
Just wondering. Worlds of Fun doesn't have a launch yet would a Steel Venom be on there list for there next coaster? I don't see Worlds of Fun getting an Intamin Impulse, and I'm not sure when the last one was built. I would be all for it though, I loved both Wicked Twister and V2 at Great America. VF15
An Impulse coaster would probably be a good fit at Worlds of Fun, however, it has been 12 years since the last one was built (Steel Venom). Plus, Cedar Fair hasn't built anything from Intamin lately. Does anyone know if Timber Wolf is close to opening yet? I might be visiting Worlds of Fun sometime this summer, but I want to wait until Timber Wolf is open since I'd like to get the credit. prozach626
And with Six Flags St Louis they don't have a hyper coaster yet do they have room for one is Worlds of Fun bigger for land space than Six Flags St Louis? There's plenty of room, but we get used boomerangs instead of the hyper coaster everyone has been craving. We were supposed to get Goliath years ago, but it went to Six Flags Over Georgia, instead. WOF was better before CF took over, they ruined the park, sure they saved the park from closing, all they've done is take out good rides and add decent ones. Only good rides are mamba and prowler That's just your (stupid) opinion. I'm pretty sure Orient Express would be beating the sh** out of riders by now. They have been testing the heck out of it. Like I said the trim brake is back on after the first turn before it drops to the hill under the lift. Looks like they want it to slam on the brakes really hard there.
Voyager6442
I just got back from a road trip that included 2 great days at Worlds of Fun and 52 rides on Prowler. In the attached picture from Coaster Gallery, there are 2 parallel lines of boards that appear to rest on the ledgers and track ties, one just to the right of the center of the track, and one just to the left. Could anyone tell me what they are called and what their purpose is? This is the first time I've ever tried to attach a photo to a post, so if I didn't do it right, please excuse me. Thanks.
