InsiderMan
I believe WOF is about to add something big. It's going to be 20 years in 2016 since WOF got its tallest roller coaster (The Mamba)
PhantomPoster32
Well it won't be in 2016. 2017 is sounding like we are getting a dark ride. Maybe 2018?
chadster
This thread is full of entertaining speculative reading, I love it! Side note: Just because one does not screen shot said text message and post to a well known theme park forum doesn't mean said source has not been burnt. They were burnt when said information was posted publicly, with or without identifying first and last name of said source, with or without permission to do so, and now that its is known it came from a particular profession, if said person's employer wanted to dig, the list to sift through would be minimal. When information is relayed as fact turns out to be false(in general, not in relation to the subject at hand) ones trust level falls greatly which is why it's always best to not say anything and sit back, relax, and enjoy the speculation. chadster
Simply pointing out that if one is in possession of information that might not be intended to be made public that one might not should post it for risking getting the party whom was partially identified in trouble. People have lost their jobs in the past over leaking information as a violation of the confidentiality agreement. My apologies if you considered that bsm. As far as actual discussion is concerned, who is going to coaster mayhem this year? 1:15pm-2:15pm: Behind the Scenes Tour - Explore the NEW Haunt
robbalvey
Isn't backseat moderating fun? Now back to actual discussion Let me make one thing perfectly clear. Saying that you have information, but you can't talk about the information makes you look like an incredible asshole. All you're trying to do is brag that you have some sort of "information" - well guess what, let me know enlighten you - nobody cares. You're not any better than anyone else. In the history of the world, absolutely nobody has received more blow jobs for saying they have some sort of inside information at an amusement park. Because nobody cares. And besides, those who know, don't tell, and those who tell, well... you can figure the rest out... Edited August 2, 2015 by robbalvey
Slides to rides
I'm going to Coaster Mayhem. Who else? I've also been informed by the Wof maintenance Director that Zulu could be in its last year or two. I wouldn't be too upset to see it go. The hydraulic lift has failed and they can't get parts. On the other hand Finnish Fling recieved a new hydraulic motor to "retrofit" the ride. I hope Finnish fling will live on another 20 years at least and I really don't think we will see the ride leave anytime soon. Just looks like Zulu. I've asked about 2016 and when we can except an announcement. I'll make sure to keep posted. Edited August 2, 2015 by Slides to rides
Slides to rides
I should get an answer by tomorrow. I bet Wof will get a flat ride package for 2016, new Gate, and a Planet Snoopy Upgrade. I've also heard the skyliner may be moved. Could we except LED lights on it? I'm not sure how I feel about it moving (because it provides great views of patriot) but the attendance for Skyliner is so low. It would do much better in Planet Snoopy. None of this is confirmed quite yet but I will likely be the first to confirm it.

Not sure how that's bragging. In fact I was pretty transparent about it. However thank you for your suggestion on how to proceed I'll keep that in mind when it is applicable. Blah. Blah. Blah. Ok I think everyone gets it. You have a problem with me. Thanks for posting the information for everyone even if you did it to be passive aggressive. Might I suggest that if your said problem continues that you voice said problem in a PM to me instead of putting it in on the forum for all (who don't care) to see? I have no problem discussing WOF with you, but let's at least pretend to be civilized. And bringing this back around to your point of your original post. Shavethewhales
Sounds like an awesome event! I wish my trip budget wasn't so overloaded this year already, but I'll definitely keep this on the radar for next year. Trying to catch up with this thread, I love the MS paint ideas. Phantom's rendition of a new front gate is exactly what I have been thinking about. I don't think it'd be too difficult to pull off, but I think with the current cross-chain trends, they'd want a big new ride to highlight it. Maybe not necessarily a coaster... I think a giant Ferris wheel would be cool.

RailBlazer
Just wondering, when was the Americana gate scrapped? My first trip to WOF was in 2002. I don't remember whether is was there or not, because at the time I was only 3 years old (16 now). Also, I've heard that some of the old ship is still there next to the bridge to SteelHawk. If this is true, does anyone have any pictures of it today? I go to WOF twice every year and I haven't noticed it. I believe the Main Entrance to Worlds of Fun was removed after or around the 1997 season. The lower portion of the boat/ship was still visible until they covered it up with dirt and landscaping to spruce up the area for the opening of SteelHawk. Slides to rides
This is what the old Main gate keel used to look like. Currently this is the Coke freestyle building. They tore it down to build it. Americana Gate Keel
