PKI Jizzman Posted January 29, 2020 Posted January 29, 2020 ^ According to the KI website, 9 different clubs are allowed to register starting Monday. This will be a great 2 day visit... I can't wait! KI's Coaster Event, yes. I was talking about Media Day.
PKI Jizzman Posted January 29, 2020 Posted January 29, 2020 It will be a good 2 days to visit though! Kids should still be in school. Not too hot.
DoinItForTheFame Posted January 29, 2020 Posted January 29, 2020 Wow!! Looks like track work will be finished tomorrow!! I’m still shocked at how fast this thing came together.
Pedrinho Posted January 30, 2020 Posted January 30, 2020 Apparently, they are prepping the last piece of track to be put in place right now!
KICoasterkev Posted January 30, 2020 Posted January 30, 2020 Yup, looks like they just put it in! Awesome
PKI Jizzman Posted January 30, 2020 Posted January 30, 2020 They're doing it a second time in case you missed it earlier Taken a minute ago.
DoinItForTheFame Posted January 30, 2020 Posted January 30, 2020 They're doing it a second time in case you missed it earlier They forgot to make a video of it for the interwebs... So they took it back down to record lifting it into place.

DoinItForTheFame Posted February 2, 2020 Posted February 2, 2020 TRACK WORK DONE ON KINGS ISLAND'S ORION ROLLER COASTER Construction workers set the final piece of track on the new Orion roller coaster Thursday at Kings Island. Track piece No. EL 122 was the final piece installed on the 5,321-foot long steel ride. It was set into place at 12:56 p.m. It took SkyHigh Coasters Inc. 168 days to erect the ride after the first piece of track was delivered to the 364-acre amusement and water park Aug. 16, 2019. Set to debut when Kings Island opens for the 2020 season April 11, Orion will be one of only seven giga coasters in the world. Coasters in that category have a height or drop of 300 feet to 399 feet. Themed to the park’s new Area 72, the ride features the latest prototype vehicle developed by the Project X initiative. Scientists are in a race against time to develop technology capable of weaving transport vehicles through a coming meteor storm and traveling to a new planet within the Orion constellation. For the program to be successful, it needs volunteers to help with testing. Riders on Orion will plummet down a 300-foot first drop at an 85-degree angle and then traverse over seven more hills at speeds up to 91 mph along 5,321 feet of track on the tallest, fastest and longest steel coaster at Kings Island. One of the most highly-anticipated new rides in the amusement and theme park industry this year, Orion was exclusively designed for Kings Island by Switzerland-based Bolliger & Mabillard, which also designed the park’s popular Banshee and Diamondback roller coasters. [youtu_be] [/youtu_be] Source. This coaster looks so awesome. I can't wait to give it a go later this year! This will be my first B&M Giga, so I'm probably more excited for this than I should be!
sdcfan88 Posted February 2, 2020 Posted February 2, 2020 I will definitely be curious to see how it compares to Fury. (which I loved)
prozach626 Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 I'd be more inclined to believe it will ride more similar to Leviathan than Fury.
teacherkim Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 Well I got the Coasterstock tickets today since it's on the boy's birthday. So, we will be on it the first morning of the event which is Fri 5/15. It kind of cracks me up that they are even gonna have other rides open during the morning ert of the first day. I can't imagine too many of the Coasterstock crowd are gonna go to the antique cars (even though they are very well done) over Orion that morning. On the other hand I guess they have to have something for those that are stuck going but don't do coasters.
KICoasterkev Posted February 4, 2020 Posted February 4, 2020 Looks like Coasterstock tickets have sold out! Hope everyone who wanted to go got theirs in time. I went to the 15 and 16 event, it was a lot of fun!
teacherkim Posted February 4, 2020 Posted February 4, 2020 Wow. Less than 24 hours. We really had fun last year. I am really grateful to the heads up on the sale time/date here. With work and life I could easily have missed it.
Canobie Coaster Posted February 4, 2020 Posted February 4, 2020 For all the people who complained about "their giga" being too small and too short, that's quite the turnout!
PKI Jizzman Posted February 4, 2020 Posted February 4, 2020 Reports coming in that both Vortex loops are down. I'm sure there will be a picture or two around by the end of the day.
joelwee Posted February 4, 2020 Posted February 4, 2020 ^ In the pics I saw circulating this morning, only one loop was down. (Credit: F5 Coasters) Pic taken this morning.... .....compared with how this view looked a week ago.
prozach626 Posted February 4, 2020 Posted February 4, 2020 The inversions are coming down. Phantom's Revenge treatment confirmed.
joelwee Posted February 4, 2020 Posted February 4, 2020 The inversions are coming down. Phantom's Revenge treatment confirmed. ...with the tallest 2nd drop in all of Kings Island. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
WolfBobs Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 Honestly, I love Phantom's Revenge so much it would be interesting to see what Morgan could have done with rides like Vortex and the terrain it sits on. Oh well.
prozach626 Posted February 6, 2020 Posted February 6, 2020 Not nearly as much as they could do with the terrain Phantom's Revenge utilizes.
