Ultracoasters
Hey everybody! This thread is simple! Rather than having a million little threads about everything that goes on at Europa Park, this thread is designed to consolidate it all into one user-friendly thread. Feel free to use it to post updates, trip reports, questions, comments, and of course, general discussion. For pictures and videos of the park as well as past updates, see TPR's Park Index Page. Official Park Website Below are some links to past updates from the park, you may be interested in. SharkTums
So, is it a coaster, or a boat ride?? When will the debate start? We just got our reservation confirmation for Hotel El Anduluz so I'm excited! Elissa "hope you don't get too wet on the ride!" Alvey
robbalvey
IMO, it's a boat ride...probably the BEST damn looking splashdown boat ride I've ever seen! But there's nothing about it that makes me say "That's a coaster." I mean, Splash Mountain also has all those elements, and it's not a coaster.... --Robb
Hattuchili
I have seen these pictures a few days before. It is a "Mack" water coaster. I think it looks a little bit like a lower version of the Journey to Atlantis attraction! However, I think that attraction makes a lot of fun. I will ride Atlantica SuperSplash this summer. --Soeren
SharkTums
Wow...I had never really seen pictures of it done! It looks great! Elissa "I hope you don't get too wet on it!" Alvey
epinside
Yesterday the first YOUNGStar Coaster of Mack Rides has opened in Europapark. It's height limit is 1 meter or 4 years of age. The coaster is 23meters high and 65 km/h fast. At www.epinside.de you can find some pictures of the opening ceremony Have fun
Ed
For a little kiddies ride that's quite a big turn!
Reon
That..is too awesome to be a kiddie credit. If only (CF/P)KI had invested in one of those...It would make a nice 'Avatar' if they cleared off enough land..

MSLSM
Cool, since all rides come from Mack(with the exception of Silver Star), would this be the company's first dark ride? It looks like it has an Atlantis theme, so maybe it will have a water feature some how worked into it.
Gregor
Abenteuer Atlantis (Atlantis Adventure) is the new interactive dark ride at Europa-Park where visitors can dive down into the deep sea since the 2007 season. It is located at the Greece area of the park and it was built by MACK Rides. You can find a english review of the attraction at lifthill.net with some technical details, construction pics and an interview with Michel den Dulk, the designer of Europa-Park. http://www.lifthill.net/berichte/abenteueratlantis_eng.php Here are some pictures:
YoshiFan
Looks great and I like how it appears to have a continous cycle of cars compared to most non Disney dark rides where each car is loaded seperate and has horrible capacity. I wish all dark rides were like that.
thomas2
This looks like fun. But I'm not a fan of the continous cycle of cars. It takes away the suspense of being alone. Then again, this ride looks more 'funny' than scary so it might be better.
ECZenith
I love the fact that dark rides are making a comeback, the quality on this one looks great! Thanks for sharing the pictures.
AstroDan
It isn't very often i slate Europa, but this ride is a waste of time. I found it VERY short, uninspired and frankly bland. Tomb Blaster at Chessington, Buzz at Disneyland Paris - even Duel at Alton Towers is probably better. Atlantis Adventure needs a lot more until it matches Europa's usual high standards. I though it was a let down.
olimonn
Yeah for "Oversized Lava-Vomiting Crab" !!!!! *Imagines a grandpa telling his grandchildren about how he met the Oversized Lava-Vomiting Crab in Europa Park's Abenteuer Atlantis when he was young and how it was the funniest/creepiest thing he'd ever seen in his life!*
chaos
I want to ride that. It might not be Maverick, but it's still worth a few laughs. It reminds me of the buzz lightyear ride at WDW.
Airtime&Gravity
This ride looks fun, but it looks like something you might find at Morey's Piers.(see PTR from Robb and Elissa's trip in '04) Europa Park looks like a really nice park, but from the photos, this ride seemed really rushed. AstroDan
This will be a Mack prototype. In any case, there's plenty of Intamin Accelerator's in Europe as it is.
