  1. Chessie has the most lax weather policy... All the major rides will stay open unless the rain is unbelievably heavy... Though I cannot say much about Kobra's situation in rain...
  2. Are the really? I didn't notice with all the plans and stuff when they got released... You also neglect to mention the new Lorikeet enclosure and interactive tree... They're both new... Seriously, the area is really fantastic and is certainly not a complete rip off as you seem to think it is... Troll...
  3. Not really a lot to say with the comments but thank you both FRONTIER GROUP ANNOUNCE BOARDWALK BAY AMUSEMENT PARK! Gritle Beach will soon be home to a new all year amusement park thanks to the Frontier Group, who are also planning grand investment in the adjacent area, including shops, restaurants and hotels. Spokesman Andy Morello said "This amusement park will help turn Gritle Beach into the tourist hotspot it deserves to be, we at the Frontier Group are working hard with the community to help evolve this old area of the town and bring in thousands of new jobs and homes to the public" So far Frontier has helped with the new road and tram-line, and the amusement park is the next big step in their plans. More as it develops Well a park at my home town has always been a dream, and if they build it like they say they will, then it'll be even more awesome, with this news I took a walk with my camera to find out if anything new had happened A fence has been put up, assuming it's to stop unwanted guests popping into the construction site... Better shot of the entrance area, and it looks like they've already built up one ride, a ferris wheel right on the water by the looks of it... Interesting in the distance... More soon!
  4. Hello all... I return with yet another park, hoping that this one will indeed last longer to completion than the others which suffered from rct-block... A fictional town in California, Gritle Beach is rather run-down and unpopular, even though it was once a tourist hot-spot... However, something is happening... "Recently Gritle Beach Tramline has recieved an extension courtesy of a unknown benefactor, who has also purchased a lot of land around the old run-down beach area, a PR assistant said that there were great plans for this area, roads and a car park had already been laid, and the foundations for several shopping and eating opportunities have also been started... Naturally I wanted to see this all for myself, so off I went..." Aboard the new part of the Tramline, only a single rail here but there are numerous stops nearby this area... The new roads and tramline with some nice fencing along the path... Just on the other side is the new car park An aerial view I nabbed from the council, random fountain sits on the pathway surrounding the car park entrance Further down a lot of work has gone on here, with a few other people heading towards it... Workers perhaps? Don't know who this Frontier group are, but this building looks interesting The other side, the lighthouse is definitely new, and this old guy was around the entire time I was, possibly more A new crossing here leads directly in front of the building... Really don't know what this could be, there's so much space behind it... Well that's all I got today, but it definitely looks interesting, who are Frontier? What is that building? Who is the old guy? Well I get many replies? Hopefully we'll find this all out sooner rather than later...
  5. The plans have made me very happy indeed... A shame it isn't a proper coaster, but hopefully that's one for the future, as another coaster to the same scale and height limit as Fury would actually be perfect for what Chessie are planning to do in the future for the park... What with this and general improvements seeming to always be started on (for example the Sea Lions are getting a window in the pool for the first time in years) and the other piece of planning permission put in through the hotel, I have great optimism for Chessie's future... Long may this kind of addition continue, though there's still a lot of renovation to do throughout the park, they can do a good majority of that in the off-seasons...
  6. It was very very nice meeting you today Big Mike, and a good ride on Apollo's Chariot was shared I'll do a TR when I get back home eventually... Cheers for the pics and what-not you took and have fun on the rest of your travels, I will continue watching with interest...
  7. Been working for Chessington for 3 years now... Although I started on Vampire, Bubbleworks, Black Buccaneer, Seastorm, Dragon's Playhouse and Canopy Capers all as a platformer... My second season saw Safari Skyway added onto this list, and later on operating Black Buccaneer... This year now I no longer have Vampire, Bubbleworks, Buccaneer, Seastorm and Skyway, but instead have Peeking Heights, Tiny Truckers, Sea Dragons, Griffins Galleon and Dragon's Fury... I don't operate Fury or Peeking, but hopefully will get one before the year is out...
  8. Can we at least wait till after the 5th July till people do bad things to it? I wish to grab this as a credit before any burning or removal of important lumber is done... God this is just like the Colossus arguements on the English forums as well, some say it's too rough, some say it's ok... It's amusing the similarities between enthusiasts from the two sides of the Atlantic... Either way, I want to ride this just to see who to believe, but hey, I didn't like Ghostrider, so if SoB is to the same scale of roughness as that I won't like it, yet my mum will... We all have different opinions, and as much as we say or think 'You're WRONG!' about it all, that's not gonna make them change their view, simple as...
  9. Cheers for all the info so far guys, given me a chance to laugh at the stupidity of CP with the Maverick single rider What would people say about the best time to go on Roller Soaker as well? I'll be at HersheyPark on the 28th and need all the credits I can get in order to make Beast my 200th... So when's the best time to ride Soaker? First thing? Last Thing? Thankyou...
  10. Since I'm off to America in around 3 weeks, now is a good time to try and find out if the following parks have any form of single rider queues that I could possibly take advantage of whilst credit hunting... The parks I am visiting are: - Hershey Park - Kennywood - Cedar Point - Kings Island (not important here, VIP tour ftw) - Dollywood - Busch Gardens Europe All help will be appreciated and any good routes around Hershey and CP would also be appreciated since those two I am finding difficult to plan for... Especially as I'm doing CP on the 2nd and 3rd of July... Thankyous in advance...
  11. Maybe Merlin are throwing some money at Heide Park since they own it now... Either way, they do have some very good theming standards, even if Saw is a let-down of late-Tussauds proportions...
  12. I could do with something else to do since my other project is stalling quite a lot... So yeah, I'm in...
  13. ^Hehe, well I am from Europe, maybe it's just based off what my mind percieves as good? Anyways, I have some new pics of the new Jungle themed area... Which stands at 10 rides! Including 2 dark rides, 2 coasters, and a kid's land... Suddenly from Eastern Empire, we have more construction... Inside one of the new dark rides... And the other one... Two different themes for both... What looks to be a coaster station... But what kind of coaster will it be? There are two to be revealed... I am told that the first dark ride is complete, the other is having to wait while the rest of the area gets finished, more and more buildings pop up everyday, and because the area is around twice the size of the others in regards to public areas, it's taking a long time... Hopefully the coasters at least will be revealed soon...
  14. ^^^I know exactly what you mean, it's a case of getting the inspiration and effort together to get the windows on the castle ^^It looks european? Erm, honestly have no idea what to say to that... Lol... It has no background cos of the lack of name and everything so have no idea where it would be located... ^I do things area at a time on this park, and I can only wish my father had billions in the bank, would help uni a lot
  15. Should've come to Griffin's Galleon... I was on it most of the day
  16. Looking good as always... Where did you get the Top Spin from? Looks very cool, especially since it reminds me of Talocan
  17. It's been a long time hasn't it? Medieval Kingdom is now finished, so here it is in its glory… The 4 rides we have in this area are King’s Carousel – a Double-Decker Carousel, Torture Chamber – a Disco, Wizard’s Mansion – Vekoma Madhouse and Tower Master – a Custom S&S like coaster completely indoors… Let’s see some piccies… The park’s new main entrance into the Medieval Kingdom… Although this shot is old, this is what first greets you… With this building now between the fountains and Carousel… And here’s the sight that draws everyone’s attention, the massive building for Tower Master… Further down the path is the entrance… What lies inside? I’m not saying Another shot of the MASSIVE building… It actually goes behind the Chinese Acrobats to the main restaurant… Huge… And again… The Carousel Wizard’s Mansion is next… (old picture) Lots of theming in the queueline as well… Inside the ride itself… Random theming and plants in the area… Torture Chamber is an enclosed Disco, and like Yang, is partially built below ground, which helps for theming purposes just as much as not preventing any other buildings take Tower Master’s presence away… Theming inside… And that’s it really… The next area is being constructed right now, and is the biggest area of the entire park so far for rides and indeed area… Look out for it soon, but of course, to tide you over, I have a teaser of one of the rides you will see next time… See you soon…
  18. I have been laughing all day today watching people's updates about Saw having a massive queue then breaking down and the whole area getting evacuated... Maintenance wise, Thorpe is a joke, and the punchline is beginning to wear very thin indeed... And this time they cannot blame the weather AT ALL... It's really nice throughout the UK today and isn't as cold as February... It's a given that all new rides have teething problems, but how bad have the other Eurofighters been? I'm not sure as the others aren't in the most popular of parks that I keep an eye on forums for... They probably got to a stage though where since it wasn't fixed by say 2/3, they wouldn't open it, because if they did it would be HELL, everyone would go to it and god knows what would happen... I'm really really glad I didn't bother... Not even a group of people could make today good... Again, Thorpe is a joke...
  19. I'm probs one of the few that won't be at opening because I cannot find myself to be excited about Thorpe or this... I'll just pop in on a random day I'm off in the near future...
  20. ^^^Thankyou very much... Just have to wait a bit longer for a full update I'm afraid... ^^Maybe... ^Thankyou... Anyways, I thought it'd be nice to give you a teaser of the coaster, known as the Tower Master... Enjoy...
  21. ^^^Yay for criticism If you don't like the amount of grey so far though I can't wait for your reaction to the entrance theme... ^^The CS is a mix of OldSpice's Asian Empire and someone's Asian Walls set... The coaster is a new CTR, which I got from the NetOn2 user expansion... ^Thankyou... I've been doing more and more work on the entrance area, and thought I'd share the Medieval Kingdom with you, it will feature 4 rides, including 1 coaster, and several shops and restaurants... Some pictures to tide us over... Looking at the main entrance building which is still being constructed... Fountains greet you as you enter the park, a Double-Decker Carousel can be seen in the background... A big building, what could be within it's walls? Till next time...
  22. Robb I did indeed realise that list of rides and the terms... But Rush wasn't shut due to weather... Seats weren't even on the ride, so that's false advertising there... Logic shoud dictate that if you rides do not work well in the cold, should you not bother with it? Problem was that everything was poor on opening, searching for open rides proved to be the entertainment for the day as well as watching Saw test... I would rather go to a park like Thorpe (with it's lack of decent atmosphere) with rides actually open, not when it's painfully obvious they want the money when they hold you at Colossus' shop when it was shut Colossus did apparently open yesterday, but Saturday the trains had dummies on, and considering the lack of queues late in the day, I can imagine the GP were much more angry with the park than we were, yes we have APs, that's why we don't care as much, but it's still not good on the park's name for the guests who turned up and paid on the day (even though there was a larger percentage of chavs)...
  23. Haha, fine I've been caught, it's an attempt of Manta since RCT is never perfect at these recreations... To the pictures... And the final update of Eastern Empire... Here’s the entrance area… Into the queue we go… A random queue building, slighty based of Dragon Khan’s queue… The queue is awesome for the views of the Pretzel loop it goes around and the first drop off the Mountain… The station interior… The lift-hill… Down the first drop off the mountain… Leading into the Pretzel loop Then an inline twist… Then a corkscrew… View of the first section… MCBR… Diving down towards a lake… Another inline… Final turn in some rocks and burnt trees… Brake run and Transfer track… Back into the station… And an overview to finish off And that’s it for the Eastern Empire, I doubt much work will be done because of Disney over half term, so the entrance area will be on hold, but I’ve already started work on the buildings as well as the rides that will be placed in the area… See you soon…
  24. Well Thorpe opened today... That's as happy as I can be tbh, it was horrendous... Simple as, the main problem being that Thorpe were obviously not prepared in the slightest, with Rush still being worked on (and on the list of rides meant to be open), and although they cannot control the weather, if 2 of your major coasters cannot work when it's cold, what is the entire point of opening in the cold weather season at all? It must be embarrasing to see that Saw worked more than the pre-existing rides already built... So when we got to the park for opening, guess how many coasters were open... Go on... 0 The only rides open dot on 10 were Vortex, Zodiac (I guess), Banana Boat, Carousel, Det and Teacups (again I guess)... That's 6 rides! That's just stupidity... Did Detonator, the Banana Boat, Carousel before Inferno opened with a massive queue... Looked at Saw, the ride seems to look good... Still don't like the idea of the theme and I worry for the interior being rubbish since I hate the Saw films... Lunch was awful at the Glass House as we had to wait 90 minutes for the food to turn up, and that was probably only due to the fact we grabbed a team leader, fortunately guest services gave us some exit passes... Time Voyagers (rubbish) was followed by hopping up the exit on Inferno, before attempting NWO only for it to break down on us, so we gave up with an hour to spare... Colossus opened for 10 minutes the entire day... Thorpe just seems to get worse and makes that good last day seem a distant memory... Not looking forward to the fact I have to go back for Saw... Pictures hopefully should be seeable from this link: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=216630&id=558160219&l=6e1a2 Some pics are on facebook...
  25. ^^^^The track is red and the train is black... ^^^You are correct... ^^Trust me, this is rare for me to get this much done ^Thankyou very much... Hehe, since you’re threatening a protest I guess I better do a full update of the Flyer then But first off let’s look at the final ride in the area shall we? Firework is a S&S shot tower which reaches 100ft into the air… The ride starts in the basement of the building, where there’s a firework store… The queue represents the tight confines of a firework store… Then the ride just does the usual up, down, up, down, up, down, finish… Opposite the exit, there’s a small ‘peace garden’, where guests can relax and watch the world and rides go by… This is one of the views you get I promise Dragon will be in the update I do tomorrow before I go to Disney
