I agree with KK, I think its vertical spiral is awesome.

1- Millennium Force (back seat)

2- Patriot (and pretty much any curving B&M first drop)

3- Ninja (SFStL)(Back seat has some MAJOR airtime.... call me crazy but its awesome!)

 

Im also pretty sure Maverick's first drop will be amazing, but I cant speak for it yet.

Is it me or is Patriot's drop several notches above the other invert drops?

B:TR's is the only one that comes remotely close, IMO.

 

Alpengeist's was actually a huge letdown for me. Everyone hypes it up as this incredible, amazing speed drop that catches you by surprise, but it really didn't do much for me, like the rest of the ride.

Not suprising considering they use the damn trim at the top of the first drop. Umm Griffon may take the rating but it's either MF or AC on the last row.

Of the coasters I have rode I have to say Millennium Force.

I love the hang time you experience in the front seat of the Phantom's Revenge. You just hang there for 5 seconds before the rest of the train goes over. Then all of a sudden, swoosh you dive down a high g turn which makes you feel like a fighter jet. It never gets old

Something about the ocean being right there, and the drop being curved. Too bad the rest of the ride sucks so bad.

Nitro the airtime down that drop is AMAZING your out of your seat the entire time it like WEEEEEEE down 230ft

 

and Goliath at SFMM I have to give credit to that amazing! first drop, the one thing that saved the ride for me! The airtime and speed all the way down was just WOAH!

Apollo's Chariot has a great first drop. Falling down to the water with airtime is quite a felling, too bad I blackout . Loch Ness Monster also has a great first drop which could accually be better than AC. Airtime, Diving onto the water and the trains sudden dip never gets old!

Nitro and Hydra's drops have a very similar feeling in the back seat, but that is a good thing because they're filled with airtime. Storm Runner's drop is awsome because you already have airtime entering the drop. Also Kingda ka's drop is great because there's nothing like a 418 foot vertical drop with a twist in it.

Going down on the edge of the track while in front row is one of my favorite coaster experiences.

For me the best drops were

 

Silver Star backseat

Stunt Fall's drop

 

 

But I have to agree that EGF has the coolest drop (altough I've never been on it)

For me the best first drop on a steel coaster is the first drop of Millennium Force followed closely by the first drop of Expedition Geforce.

 

The best drop on an iverted is Ketun's first drop.

 

I also love the first drop of Magic Mountain: a stupid Vekoma double looper. If you keep your feet off the floor you get some funny airtime!

Since I'm only a teen, my favorite first drop is a tie between Millennium Force (Backseat, either side) : , Expedition Geforce (outside backseat) , and Steel Dragon 2000 (backrow, either seat)

MF at Cedar Point of my choice for best first drop on steel.

Dominator/batman knightflight at GL gets my second vote.

Tennessee Tornado at dollyWood gets the third.

2. Goliath @ SFOG - B&M smoothness with tons of air

3. Magnum XL-200 - back seat. Whips you over the hill
