11slataus
I'm a little disappointed by this, as I actually quite liked Disaster Transport. I never got to ride it in the years that it was in the best shape, but the dark bobsled aspect always seemed pretty fun and the darkness seemed to add to the speed. Space Spiral is also a large loss as that ride is still--for some (generally older) people--an iconic CP attraction from the 1960s. Also, I just rode X-Flight this past weekend, and I found it to be nothing special and quite slow. Not exactly what I would want to replace two older rides that I enjoy. I, for one, am hoping this development doesn't happen. DT could use a refurbishment, not a removal. Just my opinion, here. And for those talking about the dark ride, it doesn't have to go in DT's spot. It can just use the old Pirate Ride building over by Blue Streak! thrillrider
Green would be an odd choice given that raptor is pretty close by.
Hilltopper39
Any chance they re-use some part of the Disaster Transport structure for the station/que line/ maintenance shed etc? A lot of times it's just as easy (and cheap) to completely level a section and start fresh from the ground up but some recent projects have successfully reused and re purposed old stations and buildings (see Verbolten and Cheetah Hunt). I would imagine a building as large as Disaster Transports could somehow be partially re-used to some degree, but we'll see what they do with it. alpengeist04
I'm glad to see CP is getting another big coaster. ...But since it's not an Intamin, I think I can wait till 2014 to visit. Anyway, it will give me a chance next year to try out SFGAm's X-Flight first.
sfgam#1
I like the idea of having a wing coaster at cedar point. But i've been thinking what color would it be..... I was thinking red, orange or purple!!! But besides the color I still like the idea!!!
Mr: Ry1996
^News from weeks ago called, they said check the green B&M track thread. Actually no, On Coasterforce member "ECG" posted 2 pictures of the track labels, the one from china and another one. Both were different, the one in china was one of them job "5307" and the other track label said job"5302", too different Wing rider track's altogether. Oh and they were both wingriders as said on both labels .

Der Der Dongt
So far I only rode the one at Gardaland but in my opinion a Winged-Coaster is nothing you want CP to waste 25 million on. I was really hoping for a Diving Machine or and Intamin Prefab.
SkyBreak95
Cp gets a Winged Coaster, and we wine about it not being our pipe-dream :/ wheres the logic?
Schotcher
So is this supposed to be a hyper(lite)/looper hybrid? From the article, it seems like it has inversions, but it sounds like it covers a large area, like a hyper coaster. Edit: And yes, I know it's a Wingrider. Six Flags Enthuseast
I think I know where the green B&M track is going next year! I'm glad that something is finally being done with that area of the park. It seems like it hasn't been updated in such a long time; allowing a better view of the beach with a new ride would be great, and the changes to the front entrance and parking lot seem pretty nice as well. I'm curious as to what exactly will happen to Disaster Transport and Space Spiral, because I know CF parks seem to have a trend of recycling rides as much as possible. Perhaps Michigan's Adventure will finally receive a new ride?

KDCOASTERFAN
Well that's two of the rumored 8 coasters CF supposedly bought for 2013(the other being CGA's woodie) so I wonder what's up for the rest of the chain?
coasterkid21
I'd say it's safe to say that this ride is either going to create a new theme area, or the ride won't be terribly themed at all.
coasternut
Well, finally the 6 year coaster drought (since Maverick) is over. It's about time!!! I need coasters. ..

FeelTheFORCE
So what's the over/under for how many weeks after opening day this thing will open? 2? 3?
Skycoastin Steve
Not sure why so many people are that upset about Space Spiral being removed. It was a non air conditioned sauna in the sky that was down more than it was operating. There are still a TON of things for kids to do there, and can't infants still ride the carousel? 99er
^^Well hopefully they don't put an actual date on the opening, rather something like "Opening Summer 2013" like other parks do to avoid situations like Windseeker.

Geauga Dog
Not surprised by this given the wing coasters are the hot ride right now. I'm sure we'll be seeing some first of their kind elements in the wing coaster design just like how Raptor had the first cobra roll on an invert. This makes me more excited to get to SFGAm to ride X Flight later this year. It's going to seem odd not seeing Space Spiral in the skyline. Moose
B&M's have historically been better at meeting opening goals than most other manufacturers.

I hope you meant to put one ^ and not two like you did, because it looks like you are saying that infants can ride Shoot the Rapids and Maverick!
